Ordered Olivia Luxe 20cm chefs knife. Knife arrived with a very poor edge and I will probably have to get it professionally sharpened. I have cheaper knives that I will use instead. Like the professional chefs knife by Robert Welch. Much nicer and around £30 cheaper. Shame. You're better off ordering a wusthof or RW.

I bought 6 Messermeister Oliva Elite knives. The chef's knife developed many chips in the first year. I sent it in and although they said I caused the chips, they removed them and sent it back. A month later, the same knife chipped in 2 places. I only used it on produce like broccoli, zucchini, apples, onions, etc. The knife was not used to cut hard vegetables like butternut squash. I was also careful to cut properly according to their customer service rep's instructions. I would advise NOT to buy Messermeister. The blades are very cheap and don't hold an edge for any length of time.

I heard a lot about these knives so I decided to look and order some. I found a really good knife that was on sale so I decided to order it. Because it was such a good deal (too good to be true) I ordered some other expensive knives that weren’t on sale. I received the order and there were only 5 items in the box. Of course the knife that was on sale wasn’t in there. There was also no packing slip. I contacted the company and was told “the warehouse said the items were in there.” I weighed the box with the 5 items and it matched the weighted FedEx. If the sale knife was in fact in there, it would have weighed more. Buyer beware! Take a video when you open your order. It’s incidents like these that explain why Amazon is taking over.

I got a Royal Elite after a few years as a Chef and it's been fantastic. Total workhorse in the kitchen doing everything from prepping veggies, to halving lobster. I really can't understate the range of utility this knife fills, and I'm still using it as my main go-to. Easily my favourite knife out there, I love it!

Product not as described , these are cheap Chinese junk! Messermeister says made in Germany Not true.

I bought an adventure knife kit. When they turned up, felt cheap, MADE IN CHINA stamped down the side too but gave them the benefit of the doubt. The blade is good but overall knife is cheap. Rusts in places that are impossible to keep dry, especially in an outdoor environment. They've chosen cheaper materials internally, no good, not protected and impossible to look after unless I take the thing apart every time. Spoke to Messermeister about it. Said I must've got a bad one or maybe it's just not the product for me and they said tough, it's my problem and I need to keep them bone dry regardless. Gave them so many chances to make it right but they just consistently threw it back in my face - didn't care. Have left reviews on their site to warn others, as I'd have not bought them if I'd known- I assumed they'd be as quality as their other products, made in their German factory even. Their website mentions nothing to make you aware that they're outsourced. The reviews keep being deleted. Shocked at them really. Thought they'd be a company to trust- shame.

Without sounding too dramatic..... My Meridian Elite Chef's knife is life-changing.
You don't know what you're missing until you use a high quality knife. From paper thin tomato slices to cutting any protein like it's butter. Run, don't walk, to your shopping cart and press purchase. You won't regret it.
