Don't ever use them

The worst Never use them. They moved us on Monday. The left broken pieces of furniture in the moving room that I did not know about. On Tuesday the building manager called me about this. I called them and spoke to some supervisor of the local crew. That was Tuesday. He apologized profusely promised to personally take care of it today or tomorrow. That would be Tuesday and Wednesday. Today is Friday and nothing has been removed yet. Plus those clowns broke half the dishes. Don't use these clowns.

Never in a million years use this company!!

My roommate and I used this service for our move and it could have not gone any worse. They were unbelievably unprofessional, and inefficient. I had to crawl into the truck and show them how much more space there was since they were convinced nothing else would fit. My boyfriend had to go and repackaged everything and help them figure out how to properly pack. Furthermore they were smoking around our furniture while moving and while standing in the truck. Our contract stated that we were supposed to have the service for 2 hours and after 2 hours the men said they had to stay for a minimum of 3. My roommate spent half an hour arguing with them in the middle of our move that this was not what we agreed to. Once she spoke to their manager on the phone - who was extremely rude - we were forced to pay for three hours with the promise that we could contact customer service to get our money back the next day.

The following day we contacted their customer service rep, Oliver, who was possibly the worst of it all. As a way of responding to the issue he yelled back at my roommate on the phone and refused to refund us our hour that we did not receive of service. They fully took advantage of myself and my roommate as this was our first experience moving on our own. I could not be more disgusted in how they conducted themselves throughout the entire process. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The absolute biggest waste of money and completely unprofessional. Cant even express how terrible of an experience we had with this company. Did a terrible job at packing our moving truck to the point that my boyfriend had to unpack it all after they left and repack it. We have in a contract that we were supposed to have the service for 2 hours and after 2 hours the men said they had to stay for a minimum of 3. I spent half an hour arguing with them in the middle of our move that this was not what we agreed to and also spoke to their manager on the phone who was extremely rude and forced us to pay for three hours with the promise that we could contact customer service to get our money back the next day. Metropolitan movers Brampton

Terrible company did not show up at 3 I called and was told they were delayed and would come between 4-5 and again they did not show up. after multiple calls and texts messages was told the truck broke down. This company has left me stranded and now I am forced to find a truck and move on my own at the last min. It’s hard to believe this company is part of the Canadian moving association. I highly recommend not using them.

Worst move of my life

This move happened back at the end of August, but I'm writing this review now since my partner already wrote his own on another website and I wanted to add my own take here.

Day of, two guys show up who are very obviously stoned out of their minds - especially the one. The one guy in the first half of the move was completely incompetent, spending most of his time standing around looking to the other guy to be told what to do. We kept telling them what NOT to move (since we lived with my sister at the time, we obviously didn't want to take her things too) and they kept forgetting even though we JUST told them less than 5 minutes prior. We had to run out to the truck and retrieve some of her stuff from them. This happened TWICE.
The move itself took WAY longer than it should have, and that's partly because of the movers themselves that were hired. My partner himself started helping them and acted as the third mover - and he legitimately was far more competent than the two of them.
Just before we leave, My partner's old desk had broken (not the mover's fault, it was already falling apart) so we asked if we could dispose of it at our new place since our new place offered an area for dumped furniture. Instead of listening to us, they took it and dumped it at our current building which was NOT allowed. Because my partner was caught on camera standing by the truck while they did that, our building manager came after us afterwards and threatened my partner with charges if the landlord saw fit after seeing him on the camera.
After that hell, we finally start heading over to our new place. (which is about 10-15 minutes down the road, by the way) The movers head out first, and my partner and I order an uber. We both get there 10-15 minutes before they do... When they did get here, my partner said he saw them just chilling in the truck having a smoke - probably getting high again since they burnt out after taking so long just to put our things into a truck. 🙂 They were at the very least smoking a joint BEFORE heading off to the new apartment - My partner witnessed this, and we know it was marijuana because they commented on it. Not only getting high on the job, but also getting high and driving. Cool.
First person to bring something into our new place is - shocker - my partner! With a whole ass loveseat, by himself. He hustled SO hard, constantly back and forth with boxes, furniture, etc. One of the guys started helping more, while the other started taking it easy and was just (very slowly) taking furniture and boxes out of the truck while my partner and the other guy did most of the work.
During this painful process the new door got scratched up quite a bit and the floors were scuffed and filthy. Some of the furniture ended up chipped in several spots and scratched up - especially our freezer - which we did list prior as an appliance, and now sits off balance because an entire foot is missing. By the time everything was done it had been approx 6 hours. Our total came to $800... Then when my partner signed the papers for payment he noticed they were a completely different company? They mentioned they were something like a side branch that were contracted - "Maple Green Moving and Logistics", and that they were told they were just doing a "student move", which definitely wasn't the case. I should also mentioned that they nearly left with several pieces of furniture of ours and thankfully we realized last second before they took off. They also left us with a couple bags of straight up GARBAGE from their truck that was likely never cleaned out from a previous move. I'm sure they didn't know but it's still disgusting and inexcusable.
Time skip to recently where my partner and I expressed our upset with our movers to several family and friends who all told us to try to get some money back as compensation. My partner called Metropolitan Movers MANY times, and after a while they NEVER answered him. Initially when he filed a complaint they said they'd get back to him in 10-14 days (why does it take that long?) so we waited, but nothing happened well after 14 days. We called again a few more times. We realized they blocked his number or just purposefully ignored it and refused to deal with our case, and we know this because immediately after calling from his phone with no answer, he called with mine and they picked up. He was told he'd be called back tomorrow morning (today) and to no one's surprise, there was no call. This was the worst move I've ever had in my life, and I've moved many times. This experience was an absolute nightmare. You'd be better off asking complete strangers off the street for help.

The Metropolitan team was amazing

The Metropolitan team was amazing! Professional guys that know their stuff. The team arrived on time and manage the mayhem of parking downtown like real champs. Wrapped everything and move it to storage, taking great care of my things and the property. As a single dad of a boy I was worried about the whole moving process, but these guys made the world of a difference and I am forever grateful!

Ridiculous Customer Service

I reached out to this company to ask if they could help me move between Christmas and New Years. The gentleman on the phone gave me a small lecture about how December 20th until January 5th, typically no moves happen because movers go to their home provinces to visit their families - but he could CHECK to see if anything was available. He acted like it was a huge hassle and he was doing me a giant favour to book a move for this timeframe. I made a *tentative* booking, because I wasn't 100% sure on my moving date. In the following days, I received a follow up call on my cell phone, an email, a text message, and a voicemail on my work phone. After acting like it was a giant inconvenience to make my booking, now they are seemingly begging for my service? This didn't give me a great feeling, so I decided to book with a different company.

I called from my work phone to inform them I would like to cancel my tentative booking, and I mentioned I had received several follow up calls/messages. The man on the phone said according to their records, I received only one follow up phone call. I said this incorrect, because I received much more than that. He said they didn't even have my cellphone on file. I asked that they erase my file, because we will not be booking with them, and that was that.

Then about 20 minutes later, I got YET ANOTHER CALL on my cellphone, someone claiming they were from Metropolitain Movers, checking to see if I still needed my booking. This man had NO awareness that I had JUST called and requested that they delete my information. I asked if they had more than one location/if the separate locations ever spoke to each other, because I just informed them that no, I do not want to book with them. He seemed completely unaware, and said that yes they have many different phone numbers but they will not call me again.

I didn't even book with this company and I can tell that they are bad news. If this is how they treat POTENTIAL customers, I don't even want to know how they behave when you actually book with them. NO THANKS.

Tons of damages

By far the WORST experience I've ever had with a moving company. They damaged our floors, our walls and our fridge and refused to acknowledge it. They told me on the phone they have "a good reputation and fantastic movers"...funny how since a week before our move, they did my friend's and damaged his fridge as well. I will NEVER hire them again. Blatantly disrespectful, and told me the damages were already there "before any move had occurred" If so, I asked to see pictures and they could not provide me with any. We also had to buy a new fridge! Unnacceptable! Do not hire!

Not even one star

Not even one star! Worst movers ever! They do not show up; play dumb or are just plain dumb. Customers are treated shabbily. Tell them your address and they do not arrive at the address they are supposed to be at. Slow, lazy, crooks. They lie Dishonest. Their Manager ought to be fired if this is the people he is in charge of. They are certainly not professional. Owner of this franchise ought to seriously look to replace these people asap before his/her business goes under.

WORST MOVERS EVER!!!!

I was quoted $450 for a 2 bedroom move 7 minutes away. The movers spent more time in the truck rearranging things than moving. The move was quoted at 4 hours...it took 8 and they ate their lunch (which I bought) during that time. If it weren’t for my boyfriend and I, it would have taken 15 hours. They showed up with Starbucks coffee and brought it inside. I’m not sure what kind of movers move anyone with one hand while sipping coffee?! When calling customer service, I was told, you are the boss you should have told them to move faster.
NEVER EVER use this company!!!! I had couches, a dining room table and 3 beds delivered brand new so I’m not sure what the hell they were doing.

We do not provide flat rates, the average time to move a fully furnished 2 bedroom can take anywhere from 5-8 hours. I hired them to move me from Sacramento…

I hired them to move me from Sacramento to Bakersfield. While the account manager was nice, the movers were unprofessional. After I settled down I found out that drawers were broken, pieces are missing, reassembling the beds was a disaster. I wouldn't recommend them. Bad experience.

Not even 1 star. Horrible experience and they charge double what they should. Lazy men who ask for a tip after it took them over 12 hours rather than a normal 6 to 8 to move my belongings. So much more crap I can't even begin to explain...

I’d like to give them 0 stars if I could. Terrible experience. Absolute nightmare to deal with. They told me they accept American Express throughout the entire experience. First question I asked them when I first booked with them and then I asked them again on moving day. When my stuff got to my destination they said they wouldn’t finish unpacking until I paid. When I tried to pay they told me they didn’t take American Express so I had to send an etransfer to cover the entire move which was very expensive. Left my bank account drained and I am still waiting for a receipt so I can expense it to my company. Impossible to get through to customer service after the move. They told me before the move they would handle packing but when the movers got there they said they never have packed before and they don’t do that, leaving us in an absolute scramble. Avoid if possible, complete crooks and high rates.

worst move ever

I would never recommend this Calgary company to anyone ever. I am completely frustrated with the customer service or lack there of. This company did not fulfill their agreement to pack all of my things and move them. They left random things in closets and then totally missed others. Since arriving in the new place I've noticed my ipad, keyboard, mouse, and the 4 moving blankets I supplied all missing. The company of course is claiming they are here but I've been thru everything 4 times and nothing. Their direct contact is a nightmare to deal with and claiming it all to be my fault for not being there to supervise and do a walk thru. This is why I hired a packing and moving company in the first place. Worst experience in my life.
