Swift move

They showed up 15 minutes before our reservation time; this never happens and the punctuality was extremely appreciated. They quickly got to the task of loading up my over-loaded 1 bedroom apartment. They took terrific care of my things, and re-assembled my stuff like pros. They even made a second trip for free when there were things that didn't fit on the truck the first trip. I have moved 4 times in the last 6 years for work, and these guys are above and beyond the best movers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They had a can-do attitude and were absolutely professional in every way. It's so rare today to find people that come to work ready to work, and this made my move all the more easy and fun.

Run from these asshats!

Cigarette butts and coffee cups in driveway, marks on walls, broken flat screen and lost mirror. Customer service constantly says they want to help while kicking you to the curb and company makes claims you are not a customer when you leave a negative review.

The entire process was easy and friendly

I filled out the form online for an estimate and was called back within a day. The guy I spoke with was friendly and helpful and answered all my questions and calmed my nerves about my first move in 11 years. Everything was very clear. The movers arrived 10 minutes earlier than scheduled, which was great for me. I was pretty much ready to go, and they were too. They had estimated 5 hours to move my 1 bedroom and they got it done in under 4. They were so fast, and so strong! They each strapped multiple boxes to their backs and cleared out my old place so fast I almost couldn't believe they'd gotten everything. We got everything moved into the new place. All furniture ok, no scratching the floors, the walls, etc. It was a very successful move, and I'm really happy with how they managed it. While I hope to be moving again in the near future, I definitely know who I'll call.

Worst movers I have ever used!!!!

It was the worst move I have ever had. And the cost was way out of line. When I originally booked the move I told them exactly what was involved – there was a one bedroom house (no appliances) and an apartment at another location (1 km away). The quote included the stop-over and both locations were going to one destination (2 km away).
The truck with 2 crew arrived on time and from there it was down-hill. The truck they sent was too small and was not equipped with straps or blankets and the moving dolly only had one strap …. broken and held on with staples. Good thing we had no appliances that had to be moved!
The crew was great and tried to make the best of a bad situation. Because they knew the truck was too small they tried to pack it as tight as they could and this took extra time. As the move progressed they called their boss to bring more straps and blankets – he said he would have them there in 20 minutes and arrived over an hour later. When he came he looked inside the truck and I would have assumed would have offered to send another truck. Such was not the case. He just left.
Because of the extra time spent at the first location, all of the items at the second location were out of the apartment and ready at the top of the stairs (one floor) to be loaded in the truck (by my son). The crew realized they were not going to be able to get it all in the truck and called their boss. He said he would not do anything until he talked to me. He agreed to send a second truck and crew but demanded that I pay the extra flat fee for the second vehicle and extra hourly fee for the second crew. What choice did I have at that point?!!!
The first truck was packed to the rafters and the second truck got lost. We had an hour and a half down-time before the move could continue. When the second truck finally got there (actually 2 trucks, one with supplies and one empty) they spent 15 minutes arguing over what supplies were going to be put in the “empty truck” that we going to have the use of. Then the second crew (who were terrible) spent all their time complaining and was painfully slow and inept. When they brought the second truck I went with the first truck to the destination address.
They had the first truck half unloaded before the second truck arrived. At one point they wanted to move the first truck back and realized that the battery was dead (the truck had been acting up all the way, first the speedometer stopped working, then the lights, then nothing). They continued, after calling their boss, to inform him. The move took over eleven hours! It would have taken longer except that my son finally “supervised hands-on”.
Now here’s the kicker ………………. The boss wanted both bills combined so when the mover (from the second crew) brought the work-order and bill to sign, it was for $11,611.95. I told him it was wrong and he insisted it was correct. Needless to say I refused to sign it and actually demanded that he obtain a blank work-order and I filled it in. The total bill was over $1,500.00 and then the next day I got a call from the company requesting more money because they forgot the extra charge for the treadmill! I would not recommend this company to anyone! Do not use this company!!! But.......................the first crew (Jeff & Shine) was awesome and would be an asset to any moving company........
Update!!!!!! WAS TOLD THAT THE FAULT WAS OURS AND THAT WE SHOULD HAVE KNOWN HOW BIG A TRUCK WE SHOULD REQUEST AND HOW MANY MOVERS IT WOULD TAKE (NOT THE COMPANY). THEN HE HUNG UP ON US!

Worst Customer Experience

Arguably the worst customer experience of my life.

The movers were supposed to arrive at about 9:30am but called to delay on three separate occasions. My wife and I both called head office and they were not helpful at all. When I flat asked how they planned to rectify this situation, I was met with awkward silence or attitude. Classy!

After 2 and a half hours, a new truck was eventually resigned to us. Despite not arriving until 1pm (over 3 hours late), the new movers we had were professional and very personable. Zii and Matt from Bayfield Moving earn my recommendation, but Metropolitan Movers as an actual company is utterly disorganized, complacent and rude.

PS: Metropolitan Movers felt a discount was unreasonable. Really? You were only 3 hours late! Let's hope they somehow make this right.

WORST MOVE EVER STAY AWAYYY!!!!!

The movers were slow - they charged by the hour so they decided to move one item at a time...so they could charge us more. The van they brought had 7 feet of space being taken up by some other customer...we had 3 stops to make for our move and because of this we couldn't fit all of the stops into the van. The movers stopped on the highway without telling us to grab lunch and charged us for that time while we waited at a storage unit for 45 min for them to arrive. The movers took a lot of smoke breaks which we were charged for. They left our belongings unattended in a public garage while moving items and lastly they broke our record player and scratched our furniture. DO NOT USE!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!! I've been trying to get refunded for the record player at the very least and they've been ignoring me for 3 weeks now. Pieces of s*** these people are...STEER CLEAR PEOPLE!!!

Terrible Customer Service...Late...Overcharged and Damaged Furniture

I chose this company bc I felt they were reasonably priced as they charged 3hr min plus truck fee and insured. It ended up being my worst decision. From being over an hour late (No communication) to damaging my furniture (dealing with insurance company for compensation) to overcharging me on a relatively easy move (charged for their movers taking a 30mins lunch). I tried to deal with Nevin from the Etobicoke office and he did nothing to help. I also dealt with Denis and he did nothing to accomodate my request to have furniture fixed. I got fed up and now I am dealing with their insurance company to have something done in regards to the damaged furniture. Poor service and disappointing experience to say the least. Never again will I deal with them and will be spreading the word to many in hopes they dont either.

Nice friendly employee bad company

I used this company Nov 2015, the owner called 1 hour prior to their arrival time told me they were running 2 hours behind, when I Asked him if he would pay the fee I would be charged for my elevator move in time running over he said 'no but I will cancel you' surrounded by boxes i had to beg him not to. the employee's arrived an hour later, they were very nice but turns out worked there part time weekends and were not movers. to empty a 1 bedroom 550 ft apartment took 8 hours!! and I was only deducted an hour, almost $1000.00 to move ,and then having to go back the next day to pick up what they forgot, like a christmas tree!! and other things left out in the open . what company does not do a final walk through.
I would never use them again. Though the 2 boys who did them move were very nice
they should of been working elsewhere
I had used previous good reviews to hire this company, did not work out very well

Highly Efficient and Professional

My Fiance and I recently hired Metropolitan Movers and it was a outstanding experience. All communication to and from this company was handled very professionally and with the utmost care and courtesy. On the day of the initial move, the movers arrived promptly and were highly efficient. They carefully went through the list of items I submitted to be moved and ensured each item was present. They did a fantastic job and did it all with the utmost care and professionalism. I would definitely use this company again if the need ever arises and recommend them to anyone!

Excellent Service

I searched for weeks for a moving company and finally settled on Metropolitan Movers. There was one reason and one reason only why I chose them and that was because of the help I received and excellent customer service on the phone. Other moving companies provided higher quotes and were a little abrupt on the phone. Metropolitan Movers was very polite and provided helpful information to me as I got ready for my move. I get very stressed when moving, but on moving day, the staff were courteous and professional as they put up with my over cautious behavior about my stuff. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone and I will certainly be using them again myself in the future if I need to. I would like to add that I recommended them to a friend of mine and they received the same great service as we did.

First Class From Beginning To End!

I have just done a very long distance move with Metropolitan Movers, and let me tell you I have 0 complaints, which is rare on a moving company. Absolutely no surprises at the end of the move with the bill, everything was as quoted, not a little extra coast at all. They even gave me a few boxes for free for my tvs!

They are very fast, very reliable and are priced fairly. The guys have such a great work ethic and don't take breaks or complain. They are just great movers. I would strongly recommend this company to everyone!!!

Impressed with their professionalism

Moving was so easy with Metropolitan Movers. I was very pleased with their services. Everything was wrapped and protected, small items were carefully packed in the boxes.

Management seems excellent. I can't think movers could be better, and so, excellent! Will definitely use them again for any of our moving needs going forward. Thanks guys!

The most unprofessional moving company

Movers showed up 6 hours after agreed time with a Uhaul!! very tired resulting in extra hours, causing me to do half of the move by myself, charged me extra for items that had included in the order!! Causing me to be penalized for late return of the keys!! Overall a disaster......

Lied to and ripped off

WORST MOVE EVER!!. Plus, metropolitan is not a moving company but a middle man contractor. They tack on extra fees for cheaper local moving companies. I booked over a month in advance, then metro forgot to tell their contractor my booking so on the day of my move, I phoned at the time the mover was supposed to be there and they confirmed my booking. An hour later metro phoned me back and lied to me about the truck transmission breaking down. For some reason we stuck with the booking, three days late. Metropolitan said they would give a 5% rebate, which I signed for and then they ending up charging me the full amount anyway on my credit card. I phoned to get clarification about the charges and they left me on hold indefinitely after saying I was being transferred to the "billing guy". DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!! They are not a local company, the address they list is fake, there is no shop there as they are a call center in Toronto.

Steer clear of Metropolitan Movers.ca

This is not a moving company - they contract to other third party movers in your city and misrepresent themselves!!!!

Obtained a quote for a 3 bedroom house move, working with the company online and over the phone. Disclosed that we had alot of heave items including 6 big screen tv's. Was told only extra charge would be for washer/dryer and gym equipment and two movers is all that would be needed. On the day of the move, three movers showed up at my door and I was informed that there would be an additional $40/ hour charge because I had so much stuff. I had committed to moving that day and was forced to agree to the terms.

I decided to argue the charge with MEtropolitan as these guys were NOT Metroplitan movers but a sub-contracted company representing them. Of the three movers, only one was experienced and continually corrected the other two on how to properly pick up and load items which added considerable time to the move compared to an experienced team use to moving people. They were very nice guys but not the quality I would have expected - it was like having inexperienced friends help me move. The move took eleven hours and two trips to the new house that is not even five minutes away even though I had dissassembled the bedroom and living hardware to speed the process.
We did not take many items that I had to move on my own... the house was far from empty. By comparison, a close friend had also planned a move that day with a five bedroom house and utilized just her family and a couple of close friends. Their new house is a 45 minute drive from the old and they still completed the move just over ten hours, making two trips.

While the crew was punctual and easy to work with, this was not the service I expected and Metro movers has declined to acknowledge any fault. I would not recommend using this shady company for anything.

Good job in moving!

Sold my house so i have to move back to my mother's place. When moving my stuff, the guys was good and absolutely professional. A job I have not expected cause I always had a bad time in moving. Much to my surprise, the total bill I paid is fair enough too. I have kept their contact as I am sure I will be using them again! Thanks!

I am recommending this company!

The 3 guys who helped me with my move were very friendly and professional.I found them working fast yet caring to my things and furniture. I have moved like more than 10 times now since I was in college and I can say this company has the best guys ever. All my belongings were handled carefully and on the day of the move they were not even late. It was great even on the final price. I don't know when I'll be moving again but I will be keeping them in mind for sure.

Solid Work

The only problem I had with them is that they arrived 30 min early and wanted to start the clock and move the stuff but after it was explained to them the elevator is booked only from 10am (when we originally scheduled the move) they a had no problem to start billing us from 10. The move was very smooth, the Movers worked fast and finished moving our 2 bedroom condo in less than 5 hours.
