MGY Pontcanna
We rented through the Pontcanna branch of MGY for 18 months and had a fantastic experience with them. They were very quick to reply to emails and follow up maintenance issue; they updated us in advance whenever there was a view or maintenance work needed to be carried out; and they were very fair and honest when it came to assessing the property before and after we left meaning we got our deposit back in a timely manner. We found the staff to be very friendly and would particularly like to thank Karen Blannin for her help throughout our time renting with MGY.

Such a worst experince ever with MGY!
So called letting Negotiator's of MGY Jake Price literally charged for me for things which I'm not responsible for. I recently moved out of the property which is handled by MGY and they have deducted so much amount in deposit stating kitchen pipe blockage however It wasn't an issue from the day one to untill I left the property . Soon after moving out they wanted to charge me just a single hair on bed and pipe blockage. Certainly This should be taken care by landlord's not by tenants.
When I went to their office to discuss about Jake don't wanna discuss and all they ask me to raise concern with TDS? If they aren't ready to discuss with tenants why do they charge so much? Why is the office for? when they dont have to solve the problem and literally they stressed out me like hell!
Being manager Jonathan Bishop not bothered to solve my problem nor discuss, all they say is " You shouldn't come here, if you have any issues raise concern with TDS " that's the response from MGY 's Jake and Jonathan.
Totally dissatisfied and certainly not recommended.

MGY Radyr office has recently sold my Dad's house. The whole process has been beautifully smooth and very professional. From the initial appraisal by James T. right through to the completion it has been a joy to deal with all the staff at the Radyr office. Clare and Liz kept me very well informed throughout and were a delight to deal with. Their excellent knowledge of the market and sales process was clearly evident and the house sold VERY quickly. It was all very impressive and I would happily recommend MGY Radyr to anyone selling a property in the Radyr and surrounding area.
£1600 a month for a dirty mattress?
I would not recommend MGY to my worst enemy. They expected my partner and I to sleep on the mattress they provided which was so clearly soiled and covered in stains. They told us that a “brand new” mattress topper was sufficient until a replacement mattress could be received - but they would not give a time frame on when this could be. We were paying £1600 a month to sleep on a soiled mattress in a dirty home. The day before we were scheduled to move in, we had arranged a final viewing which was subsequently cancelled on the day for “cleaning and item removals”. We were told on numerous occasions that all wall decor, drawers and kitchen utensils and cutlery would be removed. This was not the case - no cleaner had been to the property. There was dust on all of the shelves and worktops, behind the bed was filthy and there was hair found on the toilet seats. The fridge had a pungent smell and none of the items that had been promised to be removed had been taken. Instead the kitchen items were kept in the dirty cupboards and the wall decor was stuffed into a storage cupboard. This was the opposite of what was stated on the inventory which is a legal document and we were met with hostility, attitude and a lack of empathy - all because we didn’t want to sleep on a filthy mattress or use somebody else’s cutlery.
We did not spend one night in the property even though we had paid over £3000 up front. We had to cancel our tenancy agreement the day after moving in because we could not be told when a suitable mattress would arrive. We were told a dirty mattress does not constitute a property of not being fit for human use “as we would find in the Renting Homes Wales Act 2016 guidance.” My partner is currently recovering from an invasive surgery and this expectation from MGY is unacceptable. My partner and I are autistic and this experience with MGY has been full of stress, a cause of depression and has completely burnt us both out during what was supposed to be a special time in which we first shared a property together.

MGY told us to sleep on a soiled mattress
MGY have told us that we should sleep on a soiled mattress in their furnished property of £1600 a month
My partner and I have autism and were looking to rent a flat with MGY just before Christmas, this was our first bit of independence together. We feel MGY have taken advantage of us by lying to us, lying on the tenancy agreement and having absolutely no empathy to the living situation they presented us with.
The day before we signed to agreement we had a viewing booked at the flat, they cancelled this hours before because "the landlord was cleaning the flat" and removing the furniture we had asked to be removed. This was a lie, the flat never got cleaned and the landlord hid his belongings in the drawers and cupboards.
When we went to sign the tenancy agreement, the documents stated that the belonging would be cleared from drawers and cupboards, this was not the case. Jonathan also told us point blank that the landlord had cleaned and cleared the flat, so we signed the agreement. In fact this was not the case, there was dust on every work surface and skirting board, there were hairs on the toilet seats and there was a pungent smell left in the fridge.
We arrived at the flat, we gathered together all of the landlords belongings which filled the entire hallway, we didn't even have room for our belongings. He left everything hidden in drawers including a babyseat, bedding, towels etc
The worst part about this situation was that the mattress in the bedroom was soiled and the room smelt. The thin mattress topper covering this was also smelling and we couldn't even be in the same room with this, let alone sleep on it as MGY instructed us to do. I have just had a partial double mastectomy surgery in November so I would not want to risk my health by sleeping on someone's soiled mattress
We spent 4 days cleaning the property, unable to sleep there, we received no definite date on when the mattress would be removed and replaced from the landlord and when given the opportunity to not live there we took it.
MGY have had no empathy for us, they were argumentative, not professional and lied on legal documents.
Being autistic, this has heavily affected our mental health, caused us to have meltdowns and have left us feeling really depressed. We are extremely disappointed at the treatment we have received and I would not recommend MGY.

Possibly the best letting agents in the city.
To date, my best experience with a letting agent in Cardiff. I miss MGY, and if we were still renting they would always be my first port-of-call. Very professional, always on time and prompt with messaging, they seem to be the only letting agency in Cardiff that treats tenants with the same respect they treat landlords.
Positive buying experience
Had a great experience buying our new home through MGY Radyr. The whole team were very friendly and helpful throughout the whole process. Communication was great and they helped us complete the purchase as quickly as possible. Highly recommend and would use their services again.
