Zero Customer Service- don’t buy from Meile

Our family has a Miele coffee maker. It worked for approximately one year. The first time it broke, we got a message, saying to fill the coffee bean container, despite the fact that it was full after a run around with a Miele representative, and some troubleshooting, it was decided we needed to send the machine in for repair, this only starts the repair process. Now we need to wait for them to send us a box for us to box it, and mail it, and for them to receive it. It took over a month for the coffee maker to come back. At that point, we try to make coffee and got a new error message . This time, the message was to replace the drip tray and waste container. The drip tray and waste containers were replaced, but the coffee maker still wouldn’t work. This is when we began the process to return the coffee maker a second time to Miele, but what I found out is, Miele isn’t doing the repairs some secondary company/repair man is the one doing the repairs. I don’t estimate that they ever check to see if Coffee can be made prior to sending it back to the customer. When we received our coffee maker the second time, it was yet again, not working. This time, coffee won’t come out of the spigots. It cancels all of the drinks after it tries to grind and make a coffee. At this point, I want to throw it out the window. Miele, yet again, is telling me they can’t replace the coffee maker until a service person determines its irreparable(!%#^*!) so once again, we will box it up, and send our “ excellent product” away for another service and another month of no coffee. I would warn anyone off of Miele products at this point if I could give them less than one star, I would. This isn’t customer service, it’s a headache that never ends.

I Regret My Miele Purchase. I am floored by the shockingly poor level of customer support, especially given the price points of these products. As well, I am shocked by the number of recent reviews on this site, all reporting the same types of issues with customer service.

The worst consumer experience I've ever…

The worst consumer experience I've ever had. We had purchased a $30k fridge freezer combo. It came 18 months late. When it finally got here it never worked upon installation and we've tried to address it with Miele Canada who informed us that our city of 120k people has "no service person". They have never even tried to save our problem with our $30k dollar appliances, just keep sloughing it off. Unbelievable. I will 100% NEVER recommend Miele to anyone, if you have the money to buy Miele buy something else!! Brand new (late) appliances that NEVER worked for $30k....and a big "get lost" from Miele.

DISAPPOINTED

Customer Service and problem solving needs a complete overhaul. Just under two years my Miele dishwasher stopped working. I've been quoted $680 to repair a machine that I payed $1,729.83 for and supposedly came with a two year warranty. After spending about 5 hours on the phone, three weeks for a local technician to come diagnose, and quoted another 10-14 days for new part and install I'm completely fed up and succumbed to writing this review. I was going to purchase more Miele for another home but have decided not to after this run around and waist of precious time. HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REPAIR.

Miele sent us the wrong part for…

Miele sent us the wrong part for replacement. They wanted us to ship it back which we did and it cost us $40. We then ordered the part again but this one is defective. They want us to pay shipping to return the the defective part. My advice, go with Kitchenaid!

Wrong part sent twice

I foolishly opted for the stainless steel door on my new dishwasher. The reason it was foolish is they have now sent the wrong mounting hardware TWICE by the appliance dealer. I have gone directly to the Miele and they have again directed me back to the dealer, unless I want to pay for the part on top of what I have already paid. The part is coming from a Miele rep, not the dealer, so I find it absolutely ridiculous that the company can't communicate. It's very frustrating that weeks after receiving my dishwasher it can't be fully installed because I can't get anyone to send me the correct part.

We love our Miele dishwasher BUT since it was installed by a certified Miele installer, our hot water pipe under the sink bangs on the floor making a loud noise. The Miele representative we spoke with, told us it WAS installed properly, and Miele would only correct the problem, if we hired a plumber who confirmed it was not installed right, & that plumber would have to put that in writing. I’m not sure any plumber would do that, nor do I think Miele would pay or correct the problem if one did. Get serious Miele.

Customer Service Needs Improvement

I tried purchasing a vacuum and their system would not take any of my credit cards. I called and was told that I should try again or contact my bank. Then, I was also told that if I purchased over the phone or email that the discounts they were providing online would not be applied. I believe that if your system is not working, then you should try to work around the problem not blame the bank or tell the customer to try all these other options. It turns out that when I tried to purchase the item as a guest instead of with my account, I was able to complete my purchase. I have had other miele products that are amazing and really last a long time, but the customer service is awful. It would be very helpful for Miele to look through their systems and teach their customer service to report possible system issues to find solutions.

Disappointed with Miele dishwasher

Disappointed with Miele dishwasher. 1 year after using, it didn’t clean well and I was using Miele tablets and Miele rinse aid. I called for service and they sent someone out who did not get any codes therefore there was nothing wrong. I had to rinse all dishes before hand. I took his word for it. Then 4 years later, it stop drying dishes. I called for service and again he could find no error codes therefore he could not fix it even though he saw the dishwasher was wet. Since my warranty was up there was nothing they could do BUT did tell me I should have called back after the first time. I asked what difference that would make since they couldn’t get an error code and I never got a real answer. Now they want to charge me to have someone come out. I questioned would they then be able to repair it, no guarantee. I am extremely disappointed that I wasted my money. I will not purchase another miele but will go with Bosch and hope their equipment and service is better.

This is the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. Do NOT buy anything from them. They do not stand by their product. Their vacuum was advertised to work on carpet and hardwood. It does not work on carpet AT ALL. They lied and will not help you because they do not ACCEPT returns unless the item is broken and unused. Do not support them.

Good dishwasher, hilariously bad support.

We bought a dishwasher, which is good. It washes dishes. It does not do a great job of drying them, but it gets things clean, and it is quiet.

After sales support is hilariously bad.

If you need a replacement part you would think you could call them, give them the model, or even perhaps the serial number, and someone would look this up for you, take your credit card number, and send it to your house.

This is not how it works.

You call them, you are on hold for about 15 minutes. You give them the model number. They tell you they can't send you the part - instead they need to e-mail you a parts catalogue, and you find the part number. They hang up.

You call back, wait on hold for another 15 minutes. You give them the part number. All sales are final, and by the way the part is not in stock and they can't tell you how long it will be. They take your money and give you an order number. You might get the part. You might not. But they will give you an order number so you can call back, wait on hold for another 15 minutes, only to be told, no, we still have no idea when your part will be there.

This level of after sales support is not in keeping with a premium brand, which is how these appliances are priced. I'll buy a Bosch next time.

Dishwasher

Dishwasher - purchased last year. They have a good sales pitch but it is clear the designers have never used a dishwasher. It holds less, not well organized, irregular spacing, only good thing is the top rack of the 3 is slightly usable for flat things. There is no light to tell you contents are clean when cycle is finished. This is a definite don’t buy one.

Miele doesn't respond to request for service

Miele oven's glass door must be replaced as the enamel holding the glass in place cannot handle high heat and twists, breaking the glass. This diagnosis was made by their technician. A new door has been ordered and received locally but the repairman did not show up for the appointment which took 3 weeks to get. Customer service does not return calls to schedule another appointment. Oven has been out of service for over 2 months now but Miele does not respond. Terrible service and I would not recommend this brand unfortunately.

I purchased a Miele stackable washer…

I purchased a Miele stackable washer and dryer in July 2022. The dryer leaks. It took some time to realize that the dryer was the source of the leaks, but the "authorized" technician said that it was not the washing machine leaking but the dryer condenser unit. And since I had called the company due to an error code on the washing machine, he did nothing to fix the problem.
Now I am waiting for yet another service call.
Do not buy these machines. They are not well made and getting service is nearly impossible.

Architect purchases a brand new WXI860 washer…

I purchased a brand new WXI860 washer and it came from the factory defective. It will not start to complete the initiation cycle. I called customer service who were absolutely useless as they didn't know anything about their product and could not offer any assistance. I called again three more times in the vain hope of trying to reach someone who could offer some advise to no avail. These people are utterly incompetent as a group! Since this is a brand new unit that has never been used and came defective from the factory I asked for a replacement. I was informed that a service technician will come out and ascertain what the problem is before a request for replacement can be made. Had to wait two weeks for a technician who finally came and diagnosed multiple problems. I again asked for a replacement and the response was "it will only take a couple of weeks to get the parts and we will come back then and repair it, unless something else is also wrong with it".
I asked again for a replacement and was told by customer service, quite rudely this time, that Miele does not replace units if they can be fixed regardless if it comes defective from the factory with no regard to the inconveniences it might cause the customer.
As an Architect i have specified many Miele products for my clients but after this personal interaction with them and their refusal to replace a defective brand new unit, i will never even consider recommending this brand ever again!
If I had read all of these consistently negative reviews in this post, i would have never purchased any Miele products and i will ensure that none of my clients are ever exposed to the punishment of having to interact with this company ever again! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! TOTAL DISREGARD FOR THE CUSTOMER SEEMS TO BE THE COMPANY MOTTO.
