Poor product, poor customer service

I purchased two replacement locking mechanisms for my Minky airer (which broke, so that's also not great). It transpires is is impossible to remove the old broken pins so they shouldn't have been sold to me in the first place. The parts that arrived aren't even as marketed, they aren't the same design or colour as pictured. I asked for a refund and expected customer services to reimburse shipping and to pay for the return postage cost, given the items were mis-sold. Instead they told me they wouldn't, and said I needed to pay for expensive tracked delivery myself to even get a refund for the items. Meaning total postage costs would exceed the value of the items. Extremely disappointing. I won't buy a minky product again.

Bad customers service

When I closed my business, I took an ironing board from stock, as I had a dry cleaning shop and a household goods store. The ironing board would not stand up, so I contacted Minky and was told that the board had been manufactured with the fault and was not repairable, but wouldn't repair it or replace it, as I didn't have a receipt, yes, I had no receipt because it was my own shop. I noticed from reviews that Minky had replaced goods when the customers had lost their receipts
I now intend to take action against the company. And I will.

Retractable Duo Reel Washing Line

Retractable Duo Reel Washing Line, has started to chip away, over the year. I contact the Customer Service to see if they could help. The warranty is over just by a couple of months. They informed me that it’s Accidental damage, due to it being over loaded. (This is bs, as the line is 30m long and only used 6m max, so I couldn’t have over loaded it)
The product can only be used in the summer (in UK is only 3 months if lucky). Even then, I hardly did washing. The customer service are there to gaslight the customer and take no responsibility in a faulty product.

Minky Bra Wash bags

Purchased duo pack of bra wash bags for the washing machine. The plastic ring inside one bag managed to break and tore a hole in the wash bag which then protruded into the drum of my machine, making a terrible noise and shredding plastic into my clothes. The reason I bought the bra wash bags was due to an underwire in my bra coming out and breaking my machine. I am so angry that the minky wash bag has done exactly what it is supposed to prevent and has ruined my new machine. I emailed Minky two weeks ago and haven’t even received an acknowledgement - appalling. I’m considering trading standards next

Products aren't fit for purpose

I have purchased three of the double retractable washing lines now from Minky and all three have developed the same fault. The plastic tabs which hold the line in place aren't strong enough and will snap off in time meaning the washing line is useless. Contacted Minky support not interested. Why not consider making the tabs metal or something stronger.

Useless plastic fixings

Bought a 30m minky retractable washing line. After a couple of uses the plastic hook which are on the end of the line and then attached to the fence snapped and my washing was on the floor. Then a week later the same thing happened to the second line. The actual washing line is fine but there needs to be a review of the fixings as plastic fixings are obviously useless
Would never recommend

Very poor quality at a premium price

After having a large Minky rotary air drier for a little over a year it is rusting at the pivot points and along the arms. This unit was to replace my previous Minky which was constructed of better materials and lasted nearly 9 years out in all weather's. I took this complaint to Minky who fobbed it off as a natural occurrence and because it hadn't failed yet they weren't interested. Very poor quality, very poor customer service and a very disappointing experience

Don't buy a Minky Ironing Board!!

For some unknown reason, I have been using Minky ironing boards and covers for a decade. I think my daughter liked the design on one of the covers! However in that time, I have has 3 boards that have literally fallen apart. I replaced the first in 2019, but when that also fell apart after two years, I wrote to Minky and they very kindly sent me a replacement. When that one fell apart after a couple of years, I couldnt be bothered to contact them again. However whilst using it last year the board literally collapsed on my foot and luckily nobody was burnt or hurt by the falling red hot iron. I couldn't put it back together correctly, but it was ok to use if a bit high, until last week, whilst puting it down (the release handle was long since not working) it 'snapped together almost cutting my finger off. It was at that point that I contacted Minky, not to make a claim but to inform them how appalling their boards are. Without me actually making a claim, they dismissed my claim! When I then did make a claim, they said my 5 year warranty started from the day of purchase of my second board and not on the day they replaced it and as such had expired! All I can advise customers based on my experience of the last decade is' don't buy Minky ironing boards'. I have just brought a Brabantia and I am hopeful of a longer lasting product. It couldn't be any worse!"

Minky Sure Grip 21m 3 Tier Extra Wide Indoor Airer

So disappointed with this Airer.
I replaced my old airer, which I'd had for nearly 20 years.
I studied the write ups on Argos and couldn't decide whether to go with this one or the same one, but not wide version.
I decided as I really wanted more drying space on this one.
My previous one had 21m drying space, the same as this one, but this one had the side hanger clips.
It was in a cellophane wrapper, had it been in a box, I would have taken it back once I'd been able to open it up and gone with the other one.
The 21m include the side clips as hanging space, thus therefore having less space on the actual bars.
The clips are a nightmare to open, I have to use a knife on each one to lift them. As the airer is wider, these clips protruding out make it even wider still, so taking up even more space, with less drying space.
The clips are useless for everyday drying, okay if you want to place a hanger on each corner, but you loose so much drying space.
In hindsight, and if I'd been able to view it, I would have bought the normal size one excluding hanger clips.
My old airer was so much stronger. This is rather flmsy, yes lightweight to move around, but I don't know how long it'll last.... not over 20 years, I doubt.
Also, it doesn't stand by itself when it's folded,I have to lean it against a wall, which in time will mark the emulsion. My old one was sturdy on the legs and stood upright.
If I was to buy again, I'd look around for a sturdier one, certainly not bother with these rubbish hangers, they're pointless.
I thought I was buying more drying space, but I've ended up with a lot less. Disappointed at £40.

Only last 2 years …

Four years I bought a large ironing board suitable to take a steam generator .when it was two years old I moved house and noticed the ironing board looked twisted and as if it was ready to collapse ? I thought it must have been damaged in the move so I bought another one same model . Two years on the same problem has occurred and it looks again like it’s going to collapse and it’s twisted and I know it’s not something I’ve done . After reading reviews I realise nothing will be done as I can’t find my receipt which is my own fault but please be aware of what must be a design fault with their large boards it’s a Ariel plus board as was the other faulty board .

Thank you Natalie for your support!

I’m super chuffed with my sure dri air pod. A bit of a blip with the delivery, but Natalie was able to sort everything out super quick for me and got back to me with resolution. Really happy with the customer service I was provided and extra happy with my purchase
