Recently ordered quite a bit of wood to be delivered. Customer service in Chelmsford was great. Even gave me a two hour delivery slot and were on time! Recommend!

Awful service. I have used Barnsley MKM loads; brilliant team. Will never use Sheffield Parkway again. No reply to emails, delivery updates not given despite requests, order tuned up in batches, and not when agreed. Part of order still missing; emailed twice, no response. Now opened credit card dispute. Appalling.

I ordered several items from B&Q, which were apparently supplied by MKM. When I requested a return because the items were no longer needed, I was told I would have to pay a £40 collection fee, and that collection would take place only “when we are in the area.”

Despite repeated messages between myself, B&Q, and very little input from MKM, and after waiting two weeks, I've just came home from a short walk to find the items had simply disappeared. I received no call, no message, and no confirmation that the collection was taking place. Whether they were collected or taken by someone else, I have no idea, but I've had enough of babysitting these items now.

B&Q have since waived the collection fee, which I appreciate, but I am now waiting for the refund to be processed. Given the experience so far, I’m not feeling confident about how long that will take.

Problem with MKM Woodburn Road Sheffield.
Will try to keep this short as possible. I put 2 x orders in 1188018 & 1188019.
No problems with "18" (decorative stone) however "19' was a no show after a few days so I contacted them ( a young lady) see said they did not have the 600 x 600 x22 slabs in stock but she could get me 600 x 900 x 22 instead but at an extra cost. I agreed to this, and she said she would get back in touch. I did find it strange that they did not contact me to let me know that they did not have the originals in stock, even though I had paid for them?
NO CALL, again from them so I phoned and spoke to a young man and explained my situation. He said she was busy on another call but would get her to call as soon as possible, No Call?
I phoned again and spoke to another guy and explained my situation, he proceeded to completed the payment I needed to pay for the additional costs and confirmed that delivery would be the Friday. I arranged for a guy to attend my premises to lay the slabs from Friday lunch, howrver, No Call, No Delivery, and paid the guy for his time. NO Show today Saturday, as expected.....
My conclusions are that the sales/ customer services must be trained to tell lies, because that is what it is, blatant lies. For a company that is well thought off country wide, these people at the Sheffield branch must be hand picked for their ability to lie and keep a streight face........I would not advise anyone to use this company, well at least this Sheffield branch

I had a Symphony kitchen fitted. However, within months the paint started peeling off the cupboards. This was not normal wear and tear. The paint was simply not durable or fit for purpose. I wanted my doors replacing but I was sent a 'magic man' to cover over the damage - but he himself said this will only happen again especially in areas of high traffic. It has happened again and now MKM are telling me that the paint coming off is due to neglect. I am a tidy professional person simply using my kitchen and do not expect the paint to fall off so easily and MKM are not resolving the issue which they need to do. Symphony are happy to honour my guarantee but MKM are not commuicating with symphony effectively and are trying to put the blame on me for a poor quality kitchen finish.

Sorry to have to write a negative review, l use MKM as a 1st port of call for all my buildings and landscaping needs, today l went and purchased 2 bags of sand ,ordered and paid for at the desk given a receipt and told to park next to the stacks of sand in the yard and someone would come and assist, this l did, there was nobody about it was like the Meri Celest, so l located the sand and loaded myself, on leaving l happened to look into the warehouse part, and 3 lads stood around a pallet drinking and talking ?, l suppose it was cooler in there then outside ,the only thing l could say in their defence is it was dinner time !.

I've not experienced such excellent service in years. As soon as I entered the Canterbury store I was approached by a friendly man, who confirmed the grade of pea shingle I needed and established the type of vehicle capable of delivering a bulk bag to my property, which has restricted access. The delivery arrived on time and the driver couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. He craned the bag into the exact position I had hoped for. After receiving such impeccable service, I have no hesitation in recommending this company's Canterbury branch.

Ordered and paid for 2 maxi bags of sand and a pack of bricks almost 2 weeks ago. Still not been delivered. Do not use this incompetent company.

Ordered a couple of supplies, a very low value order... Free delivery, and was delivered the same day!...madness. the delivery driver communicated well also.

Will be using again.

Internal sales is shocking. They never seem to know anything, and when you leave your number for a callback, they never return the call. Prices appear to be made up on the spot because they don’t know them, and if someone asks a question outside their area, they cannot answer because there is no cross-training.

Gareth and Ellis in Bridgend could benefit from product training, customer service awareness, and better knowledge of suppliers’ catalogues.

As internal sales staff, they are not convincing and certainly do not encourage customers to do business with MKM.

Being in commercial sales myself, I’m baffled that a company like MKM does not recognise its weaknesses or appreciate customer feedback. The general manager would not even take my comments on board, claiming that I am apparently the only person to complain in the last 18 months. However, after speaking to tradespeople and private customers, it seems poor service is common knowledge.

I’m currently renovating my house, and MKM is not on my list of suppliers. I have been too may time to the store and every single time I have experience the same inconpetence and incompetence and lack of knowledge. I would rather pay extra elsewhere than give my business to MKM.

Mkm ince terrible service. Iam trade and place regular orders for £1000s each or every other week. They never return calls on stock enquiries for orders iam wanting to place, first drops never arrive even though they had over a weeks notice, wrong materials, wrong sizes, poor excuses, even management blaming yard staff to me a trade customer that my delivery was 7 hrs late. Used to be a good company when trying to impress to get work initially Gone to absolute crap. Time for a change back to Travis Perkins I think.

Another great delivery. Easy to use website, had everything I needed in stock. Delivery time that suited me. The delivery driver was superb. Very well presented, friendly, chatty and a great sense of humour (I mentioned he had muck on his leg, that was a Man Utd tattoo) I'll definitely be returning. Thank you

Steve at the Lincoln branch took time to find a match for some 10mm golden gravel, calling the supplier and providing photos. Very helpful and delivered on time and the gravel was just what we wanted.

I've used the branch near me a few times now. They generally have the best prices locally and delivery is free - a rarity these days for building supplies.
The website is really easy to use, and making an account was very straightforward.
They always phone me the next day to arrange a delivery date and time, which is usually the next day.
The staff I've spoken to on the phone have always been courteous, friendly and helpful (Especially Joe H at the Barnsley branch who went above and beyond to help me change an order at the last minute without complaint!).
The delivery guys call before arrival to let you know they're on their way and they are happy to put the goods where needed on site.
All in all, a great company to deal with and competitively priced.

I am extremely disappointed with both the quality of the kitchen supplied and the aftercare service received.

From the beginning, there were issues with damaged and incorrect items, delays, and problems during installation which caused a great deal of stress and inconvenience. While some replacement items were eventually provided, I felt the overall handling of the situation lacked accountability and customer care.

What has been most frustrating is the poor aftercare once payment had been made. Communication became dismissive, concerns were not properly addressed, and there seemed to be very little willingness to acknowledge the disruption and disappointment caused.

A kitchen is a major investment and customers expect both quality products and professional support when problems arise. Unfortunately, my experience did not reflect this.

Boiler cabinet has been supplied and is not fit for purpose and does not meet safety standards
MKM appear to not be interested once they have poorly designed a kitchen and taken your money
I have requested visit for assessment of problem they have declined, but could not come quick enough to carry out initial quotation, very poor service and company

I would not recommend based on my experience.

I am a home owner. Recently had render done by a builder. Good job.
2 days later it all cracked and blew.
Got them to do it again and it happened again. The builder looked at the sand and cement and it was all out of date. This is an ongoing argument with the building supplier where they will not refund the builder any kind of money and for myself. Do not go with this supplier !

Most expensive sand I've ever bought checked prices when I got home shocking especially as I've been shopping there for 20+ years so much for customer loyalty, won't be going again bad bad bad ruthin branch

We found this company to be super helpful, friendly and we've used them a few times since.

We moved into a new build estate and needed a kitchen panel for our dishwasher. I'd mistakenly ordered an integrated model so we couldn't install it without this panel. I spoke to Katie at the Wakefield branch who couldn't have been more helpful. She pointed out we needed a foot panel too and sorted it all out for us. What's more the order arrived at the depot earlier and Katie contacted us offering an earlier delivery which made a big difference. Everyone at the branch was nice and we've returned a few times as a result. It'd certainly be the first builders merchants I'd use if we needed any building materials.

Delivery to remote area with challenges from roadworks / road closures - Eric (transport manager) and Billy (delivery driver) both went the extra mile to get this time-sensitive drop to happen on schedule. Very much appreciated. Would highly recommend the Dundee team. Also, good product and good price. This is a 5 star review for MKM DUNDEE.
