Extremely disappointed with my…
Extremely disappointed with my experience using Mobile Monster’s online trade in service.
I was originally quoted approximately $500 for my phone and specifically selected the option stating I would accept $500 if the device was not found to be in the originally stated condition. Based on how this was presented online, it gave the clear impression that any reduction would be reasonable and proportionate.
Instead, after sending my phone in and paying for postage, I was offered only $150.
The only issue I was aware of and disclosed was reduced battery health. I was then told there was a camera fault that had never previously been an issue before sending the device.
What made the experience worse was being told my original protective packaging had already been thrown out and that the phone would now be returned in regular packaging despite the obvious risk of damage in transit. The device has also apparently been placed into a “return to sender queue” with no clear timeframe provided.
The whole process feels extremely misleading and not transparent to consumers. If the value can be reduced this drastically despite selecting the “accept reduced quote” option, that should be made abundantly clear upfront before customers go to the effort and expense of sending in their devices.
Would not use this service again.
