My child thought the difficulty of papers was very mixed - verbal reasoning was deemed easy but maths very hard, compared to the materials that she is used to. I also thought there would be more students sitting the mocks, giving a better idea of how she is doing compared to her peers. The review of the english writing was very thorough however, and I also appreciated how quickly we got the results back.

We booked Mock Test 2 for the Bexley 11+ with MockTestMasters and were genuinely impressed. The entire process was smooth and professional from start to finish. The setup at the venue was well-organised, and the staff were friendly but firm—just the right environment to simulate the real exam.

What stood out most was how realistic the test felt. It really helped my child experience the pressure of timing and exam conditions, which built their confidence massively. The paper itself was challenging and revealed clear areas to focus on before the actual test.

The feedback report was detailed and sent out quickly, breaking down scores and showing exactly where improvement was needed. It’s helped us adjust our revision plan and prepare more effectively.

If you're serious about 11+ prep, this is 100% worth it. We’ll definitely be booking more.

Well organised, clear instructions provided. All ran smoothly on the day. Very detailed report of results received which was helpful. My child sat the test in person but also received free online tests to practise with. Highly recommend.

My son recently sat his first mock test and had a fantastic first experience. He came out really happy and confident that he now had a much better understanding of how the 11+ test will be and what to expect. The results came through really quickly, with a
full and detailed explanation of what he needs to work on going forward. I have been so impressed, I've booked another three mocks, so that he feels super confident going into the real exam.

I personally will never use their services again as it is not worth the money.
But I just wanted to share my experience with people so that people can give their own judgment.

My son took few mock exams with them this year.
When the results came back, we recapped all the mistakes my son made.
Within 2 mock exams, we identified 4 errors in correct answers and it turned out that what my son answered were correct. They confirmed and apologized, and amended his mark and ranking. (Not sure if they amended any an other candidates’ answer….)

Not only that, his creative writing feedback was very questionable.

My son used the word “envelops” within the contexts and it was correct way of using the word. However, the marker corrected his spelling to be “envelopes” which is the things you put letter in.

My son misspelled the world “wonderful” as “wonderfull”, and the marker didn’t identify that error.
However, his misspelling of “azure” (my son spelled as “azul”) was identified on the feedback.

When I pointed this out to the provider, I received the following teacher’s response who marked his paper:

TEACHER'S RESPONSE

"First, I would like to be accountable for my error. I was distracted and pulled out the word “envelop” in error. As an English teacher of 20 years and Head of Faculty, accuracy in my work is important to me, and I appreciate that it must have concerned you.

I do not, however, pull out every spelling error when a different emphasis is needed to support the young person. Showing every mistake can be demoralising, and as a Chief Examiner for one of the major examination boards, I know that spelling is a small part of the success criteria for English. That might shock you, as spelling seems so vital. It is assessed across all subjects, so it is not emphasised as more important in English. What is important is the writing structure and the ambition in vocabulary choices—equally, writing successfully for the audience and purpose.

As I noted, Joshua has the potential to be a talented writer. He has imagination and a good deal of control over his writing. Imagine being told this at a young age rather than having every mistake addressed. It is my job to inspire, encourage, and correct.

Please look at the targets I gave at the bottom of the feedback. In my expert opinion, these offer the greatest opportunity for improvement to Joshua’s writing.

We trust that this provides some clarity regarding the calibre of teachers and other staff who work for Mock Test Masters, and we hope your concerns have been put to rest."

Since this response, I wrote them back few times for some clarifications and they have never bothered to respond to me.

Great communication with staff and wonderful response time. All my 3 children had done mock texts with MockTestMasters with 2 in Grammar school and the last to do his exam next month. Highly recommended

I have been a customer of MockTestMasters for the last ten years. My children speak highly of the realistic exam conditions that each mock test replicates, and the staff are very welcoming and supportive to us anxious parents! Would definitely recommend to all parents, especially parents new to the 11+.

Our son sat an online mock test for QE Boys Grammar and an onsite mock test for Latymer Grammar. We were more interested in benchmarking his performance relative to other candidates rather than specific feedback on areas for improvement. Having said that, the feedback reports were pretty detailed and very much in line with what we'd anticipated his gap areas to be. Our view was that the QE test did not mirror the layout/difficulty level of the real exam, so please beware if relying on this mock for performance guidance. The Latymer mock was also easier than past papers. As mentioned by other reviews, we also experienced numerous issues with admin that required chasing and noticed basic errors/inconsistencies in the ranking reports. Something that parents should be aware of is that rankings are not released at the same time as feedback (we had to wait around 10days post test) and the free online tests advertised on their website are not provided straight away after the mock either. So please factor this in if booking close to the actual exam date as you won't be left with too much time to close those gap areas. Overall it was a fairly clunky experience that didn't really aid in benchmarking a child for some of the more competitive/popular Grammar schools. Would not recommend.

Waste of time and money. I paid 115 for the mock test. When i have received result, most of the answer marked by the marker is wrong. I have raise this with them over the email but no response. I have checked this with my friends as well and they are having the same issue.
I found the company very irresponsible and i suggest please do not book test with this company. This is complete waste of money and time.

Questions for the mock themselves are ok and feedback provided is good but the admin is totally rubbish.
I booked 5 separate mocks and didn't always get confirmation of what dates I had booked, the admin confirmed the wrong date for me and when pointed out all they are eager to do is charge you to reschedule not taking accountability at all for confirming the wrong date for you.
Paid an extra £10 and within a few weeks had to pay another £15 on top of an already pricey mock was not value for money at all.
It was not a pleasant experience with them as a parent.

The mocks and reports provided were of very poor quality, making it nearly impossible to infer what went wrong in the answers in some sections. Additionally, the markings were incorrect, further adding to the frustration. Save your money and seek better quality services elsewhere, especially considering the cost was £85.

Thank you so much for all the support during my Sons preparation. WE attended all the mocks and they were so helpful because on the exam day it was just like another mock. He passed all 3 Grammar school exams and I am encouraging parents to go for mock test masters. Book their mocks. They are excellent in providing a simulated environment and communication with the parents to ensure a smooth learning and exam process.

I’m very happy with the experience that my son has had with MockTestMasters. They have been professional and organised whilst ensuring the children have a realistic and comfortable experience.

I highly recommend their service and will be using them again for my younger son.
