Very poor cheap beds

Decided on the Lisbon divan bed, now I really wish I hadn't! First of all, the 2 base sections don't even line up properly making the plastic connectors a waste of time. I then tried to connect the headboard but one of the bolts wouldn't tighten so I took out the drawer & looked inside & saw that the fixing had pushed out of the frame, which is basically made from 2x1 timber!!! Also two of the drawers do not close. I'll give them some credit for replacing the bed after 2 weeks but shockingly the replacement had the same problems! You would have thought it would have been double checked before sending out. I suggest paying a bit more from a reputable bed company as these beds are very poor quality.

Everything is broke within 10 months

Everything is broke within 10 months.
My partner and I bought a Chesterfield bed in October.

-Slats broke a few months ago- there is a huge dip in the middle of the bed, so we cannot sleep on it.

-The main headboard is broken inside (got delivered this way) and it makes a constant, awful noise with the slightest movement.

-The metal decorations on the sides are starting to come off (sloppy handicraft and poor quality glue) whenever we walk by/our skin caresses them, so scratching us.

Definitely do not recommend this company as the quality is horrible, and the prices high.

They say the products come with warranty and are willing to replace slats and headboard, but that is 1 taking ages, and 2 not a solution- are they replacing the whole bed?

They refuse to give even a partial refund- BEWARE!

Worst product ever- waste of a lot of money

I bought a Regency Sleigh Chesterfield Bed in October and I am so disappointed in it- especially since I paid almost £700 for it!!!

It makes SO much noise whenever my partner or I move I tiny bit. We installed this and had a professional handyman look ant it too- it just makes this incredibly irritating noise.

And… after 9 months the bed slats SNAPPED!!! So now there is a huge dip in the bed, sooo uncomfortable and bad for the back.

So I bought a bed for £700, made a lot of noise, and after 9 months it’s absolutely unusable.

I only hope their customer service team can help because this is so unfair.

I don’t usually write reviews but this company deserves one.

The website is very simple and effective. It is easy to find what you are looking for and customise your bed to your preference. There are very useful descriptions for everything from the type of bed to different mattress types and so on…

The communication from the company is excellent: I made a phone call to get a better idea of what I wanted. The person I spoke to was very knowledgable and patient to listen and understand what I was looking for, provided helpful advice and answered any questions I had thoroughly.

I also forgot to select express delivery when placing the order. I emailed the company, they were quick to respond and happy to amend the order to include express delivery and take payment for it over the phone.

I ordered the “Ascot Wingback Chesterfield Divan Bed Set”. I was genuinely surprised at how quickly the bed was built and delivered (Note I selected the express delivery as mentioned before).

The bed and mattress arrived well wrapped and protected - everything was in perfect condition when it arrived and was easy to assemble.

As of writing this, I have slept in the bed twice so far. The bed is well made and good value for money in my opinion. It is sturdy and nothing creaks or makes noises when lying and moving around on it (Note I selected the ‘reinforced frame’ option).

I selected the pocket sprung memory foam mattress and it is honestly so comfortable for the money, I had a great nights sleep.

If I had to give any criticism, it would be that there were no assembly instructions with the bed. As I mentioned above, it was very simple for me to assemble but maybe others would like to have instructions.

Also, when ordering, I would recommend to take your time and zoom in on the pictures to make sure everything is how you want it. On the headboard I ordered, I assumed it had stitching down the side of the frame but when it arrived it turns out it was chrome pins/studs which I’m not a huge fan of (They’re not bad just not my personal taste). This is absolutely no fault of the company, they got my order correct, this was my mistake for not paying close attention to what I was ordering. When I checked the picture on the website again and zoomed in, I could clearly see that it was pins and not stitching.

Overall, I would highly recommend Modern Beds and thanks for the great service 🙏🏼

Cannot get a reply for love nor money!!!!

UPDATE: since posting this, I STILL haven’t had a reply on any of the platforms I’ve reached out. It’s just totally unacceptable! I have a mattress that really I’m sure I shouldn’t even be sleeping on! And no one responding..!

I have an issue with my mattress, it is almost like it is separating lengthways down part of it, basically broken. There’s no way it should be doing what it is after such a short time.
I have tried SEVERAL times via EMAIL (twice), Instagram, (twice), Facebook and their website contact form to get hold of them to rectify this and not one single reply!! I am really really unhappy! It’s impossible to get hold of anyone.. poor poor customer service.

Really bad workmanship

We had a bed delivered Friday. My husband had to drill holes so we could put the headboard on because there holes didn't match up. Legs didn't go on so had to bang them on. No instructions. We had to put staples in the material because it was hanging off. And we have a gap between the bed which we can't do anything about

Bed was as described, all parts present - a little manipulation to get the "feet" located & job done = Good product.
Only 4 stars though = because delivery window given was 10:15 - 13:15, driver arrived at 13:50, ALTHOUGH !! - driver was very good.

Excellent service with great delivery team

The order was easy to process and delivery confirmed and arranged within the same week. The delivery team was very helpful and helped get the bed to our first floor bedroom. All in all a great service offered and would highly recommend using them.

I am so impressed with this company I ordered a super-king divan but realised it was too high as it was sitting on a bed frame that was already high but not high enough. Adam and Fred told me they would make one to order as they hand make them. I got the perfect height and it was delivered within 3 days!!! I’ll be back, thanks Modern Bed Company

Good experience buying from modern beds

It’s the first time I have brought a bed online. Honestly there are so many companies, it’s hard to find one you can trust will be the Quality you expect for the money that you are paying.

The price seemed to good to be true, I managed to get a discount too. I contacted the company before buying and after each time they were helpful and responsive.

Delivery was made without any issues. The quality of the bed is good. I purchased a pocket sprung Mattress, it’s softer than I expected but it’s gorgeous, you melt into it.

I brought a headboard for a bed I already had, I thought It was a bit expensive compared to others I had looked at. But you get what you pay for because it’s a high quality and heavy. So really happy I made the decision to pay extra.

I’m really happy and would recommend buying from modern beds.
The only problem I found was that when I purchased the bed, the links on the emails of my order didn’t work so I never received a list of what I had ordered in order for me to check it, just to make sure the order was correct before it was made. (as they sent me an email asking me to check before they made the bed) i contacted the company with this and they sent me a kind of screen shot with my order confirmation. This was all ok - just when I spent a large amount of money and then the link didn’t work - I just felt a bit nervous like I had been scammed. I think they need to just look into their systems and correct this.
I would buy from them again.

If you want a mattress that lasts 2 months before the springs come through, this is the place for you!!!!

An absolute sham of a company. I bought a mattress just under 8 months ago, it was so comfy for the first 2 months then the springs began to come through & it just became so uncomfortable After numerous emails they sent out a replacement for me in March this year. Fast forward a couple of months and once again, the mattress is becoming uncomfortable and I can feel the springs popping through. I suffer with arthritis in my spine & the mattress is making it worse.
I’ve emailed the company today asking for a refund, however, I’ve not heard anything as of yet. If I don’t receive a refund I’ll be claiming through my bank!

£300 down the drain!!! Do not use this company!!!

Brilliant service

Brilliant service, was sceptical about buying a bed online but it was a great experience and great value for money. Delivery was efficient and came within 5 days. I have seen a lot of reviews about beds being left outside but this wasn’t an issue, as this is what is happening with many companies even the top brands. I had communication throughout and even before ordering had a call to see if there is anything they can help with, which was great 👍
