Poor Service, Don't Recommend
While they were accomodating so far as booking my vehicle in to have a DPF assessment, they advised that they'd need a £126 deposit to be taken over the phone.
I understand that they are in business to make money and that spending time doing diagnostics has to come at a cost, however I can't help but thinking I left there with no meaningful answers.
I know DPF's are expensive if they are in need of replacement. The car isn't worth too much so it stands to reason that I ought to consider scrapping the thing. I was given a list of some other concerns with the car that I've had the past three years but did not consider any issues beyond DPF being in need of a diagnosis. The paperwork reads that there was no fault found with DPF despite it showing a "CHECK SYSTEM" warning on the vehicle, all pointing to the DPF.
The technician tells me that it needs Honda for diagnostics and software update, plus a genuine DPF but nowhere on paper it states an issue with DPF itself. Technician said a lot of work needs doing on car which could be costing in region of £3,000.
I felt ripped off in all honesty because I left there with nowhere to go. Lots of unanswered questions and short of stating the obvious, I know if DPF requires replacement, then the car is indeed scrap. Either I take the technicians word for it, or get a second opinion though I thought I was visiting a DFP specialist.
