On time, honoured quote, great job.

Overwhelming praise for Moffat Floor Sanding. We moved into an old Victorian house with recent carpets hiding original floorboards that had been partially painted at some distant time. The quote was honoured despite the bitumen-based paint making the initial sanding slow-going with many pad changes required. The team was proactively communicative of their arrival and work times, polite and helpful here, and cleared up their mess both days. I had anticipated sanding dust regardless of assurances but those assurances were absolutely factual - I was working in the adjacent room and there was no noticeable dust migration outside the work area. The two half-day jobs including the sanding, dust mitigation, and varnish were completed on time. The result looks grand. Having picked Ross at random from the internet for the first room, we will be using his team moving ahead. Kudos.

Delighted

Earlier this month (April 2025), I had my wooden floors restored by Moffat Floor Sanding and I’m thoroughly impressed with both the process and the result. From the initial quote through to completion, the team was timely, proactive and highly professional. The job turned out to be more complex than expected due to the presence of another tradesman, but this was handled with calm efficiency and clear communication throughout.

The lead tradesman and his assistant were excellent – skilled, focused and courteous. Despite the disruption, the main guy returned on a Sunday to ensure the work was completed to a high standard, which I greatly appreciated. Their commitment to doing the job properly, without cutting corners, really stood out.

A particularly important point, which many will understand – especially women – is how comfortable I felt having them in the house. They were polite, respectful, and professional at all times, which made the experience entirely stress-free.

The transformation of the floors is remarkable. They were in a dreadful condition beforehand and are now pristine, beautifully finished, and well protected. It’s made a huge difference to the overall feel of the house.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Moffat Floor Sanding to anyone looking for floor restoration work. Their work is of a high standard, and they clearly take pride in what they do. I will certainly be using their services again in the future.

Completely unprofessional. Quote promised, service denied. Wasted my time then blamed me - AVOID!

If I could give zero stars, I would. My experience with Moffat Floor Restoration has been one of sheer frustration and utter disappointment.

They failed to turn up for the initial quote appointment without any notice or apology. After rearranging, Norma eventually came out, but I was then left chasing the quote that was supposedly “already done,” according to her during a phone call on April 11th. I was promised it would be sent that same day. It never was.

After I left a negative review for the company for failing to meet their own self-imposed timeline and followed up by email, I received a dismissive response from Norma. Rather than take responsibility for the poor communication and failure to meet a very reasonable expectation, she decided to withdraw their offer of a quote entirely. Apparently, expecting basic professionalism and follow-through is considered having “exacting standards.”

The irony is that the time and effort taken to compose an email withdrawing the offer of a quote likely took longer than it would’ve taken to simply send the quote, which Norma claimed was already completed - you couldn't make it up!

It's impossible to get past Norma to speak to anyone actually carrying out the work. She seems to relish what small morsel of power she believes she holds, cherry-picking customers based on her own personal preferences.

Avoid this company if you value your time or any semblance of professionalism. There are others who offer the same service and conduct themselves with far greater integrity. I’ll be sharing my experience across other platforms to help ensure others don’t waste their time the way I have.
