Life savers
I love this Company. 5 years ago I had over $35,000 in credit card debt and the payments and interest were more then I could handle I had just retired. The Bank recommended them and they worked hard to set up a payment plan and 5 years later I'm debt free. It you are having problems paying your bills call them.
The counselors at Money Management were…gave great advice and were very helpful every time I called.
The counselors at Money Management were very thorough and gave great advice. It was a very easy process, except for having to go in each month and update credit card balances. I missed putting in an amount on one credit card and MMI did not pay the credit card thinking it was paid in full. I called and they were very helpful and put the card back in. I paid for that month that was not paid then they took over after that. They increased the amount they paid to the card to get it up to date. The process just increased my loan time by two months.
Less Stress
MMI was of great help helping us with creditors that would not give us the time of day. They worked out payment plans with 2 creditors n made our lives so much less stressful with lowered interest rates and fixed payments. It took 5 years but what a relief. 2019-2024
Really works and helpful!
I was in deep trouble with some debt surpassing 10k, MMI really helped me lower my interest rate and helped me plan out what I can pay off. The system worked for me to pay off my debt in 2 years or less.
Personal attention
Kindness, clarity and availability. Personal attention when needed. Very helpful, step by step. Non judgemental. Humaness
Fantabulous
I want to thank Money Management International for helping me pay off all my debt. If it was not for them I would not be totally debt free today. They are Fantastic.
Incredibly supportive and friendly.
I called several other counseling services before agreeing to the plan that Money Management International offered me. Everyone else told me there was nothing they could do to help me. MMI was the only organization that made any effort to give me hope that I could succeed. Resolving a situation as bad as mine is never easy, but they made it as simple and painless as it possibly could be. every single time I communicated with MMI along the way, including the two times I was late with a payment, I always came away knowing they were 100% on my side. It didn't feel like working with a business at all. It felt like having an ally.
I had excellent results with their debt management plan
I had vetted a few debt management companies before deciding to use Money Management International. Overall, the experience was excellent. Keep in mind that MMI is a non-profit organization.
Charley Bruner was my Certified Consumer Credit Counselor and I can honestly say if it wasn't for her expertise, patience, and professionalism, I am not sure that I would have ever gotten through the process, which can be very tedious and time-consuming. Having all the creditor information handy before starting the process with MMI may reduce the time involved.
I was naive to think that debt management is an "easy thing to do," but honestly it is NOT. This isn't the fault of MMI, just the way it is. But the results of that effort were worth it to me, especially when I was in a temporary period of lower income than usual.
The consumer will still have to have contact (at times) with creditors, particularly those who refuse to participate in the plan (which are many, don't be fooled). As a courtesy, MMI will include some of those creditors in the repayment plan as a courtesy which in the long run means less work for the consumer.
I was tearing my hair out with one of my creditors because their customer reps were horrifying. In that situation, an employee at MMI offered to intervene, and it made a huge difference.
MMI's fee to the consumer for their services is very reasonable and the website platform is excellent for tracking progress, payments, making changes, etc.
For my situation, it was worth the time and effort to have MMI deal with debt management, and I can honestly confirm that my financial future is much better now as a result!
Be sure to review every single note from MMI along the way so you don't miss something. For example, one creditor asked for a NEW contract because they wanted $1 more a month in payments. Each time something like that happens, the customer has to approve and sign a document.
Be prepared for creditors to pull the same doo-doo with MMI that they pulled with you directly. And be prepared to deal with creditors who won't accept debt management plans. It can be very time-consuming to call each one and ask for a hardship repayment plan, lower interest, freeze payments for several months; or whatever is entailed. However, if you take the time to do that (and don't take "no" for an answer), you will be rewarded.
For example, one creditor who doesn't participate in debt management plans required me to call them EACH month asking for another extension. If you miss a call like that, they go back to the regular terms of your debt owed.
Most of the staff at MMI were great on the phone and online chat. Like anything else, there is nothing perfect.
Everyone's situation is different. Some will spend more time than I did and others will spend less time. It all depends on the creditors involved.
It is worth exploring as an option to get out of debt. I was easily paying 30% interest on most of my credit lines, so having many of those get substantially lowered by doing debt management added up for me.
And every creditor does not have to be in the plan. Before debt management, I paid off a few smaller cards and stopped using them. That helped my credit report to have a zero balance on those cards and keep them in good standing for future use.
Creditors in the plan will terminate your credit, but it is noted on credit reports as "customer requested" and they also note the account is in a debt management plan. It is a much better situation than defaulting on numerous accounts, believe you me.
A few months after I paid off my plan and watched my credit score increase, I was able to finance a used EV at a fairly decent interest rate. At 62 years old, this is the first time I ever qualified for such a loan; very happy about that (as is my elderly mother).
Easy way of getting rid of credit card…
Easy way of getting rid of credit card debts.
It started with a phone interview with one of the customer service agents. It was a woman, extremely understanding, kind and smart. She suggested a program that worked with my budget. It took me three years to get rid of all my cc debt. Strongly recommend
This has been a complete nightmare!!!
This has been a complete nightmare!!!! They are supposed to be helping me and so far they caused my credit score to drop 51 points because they lied and didn't tell me that they would be mailing a check to my creditors which caused me to be over 30 days late, and I’ve never had a late payment before. Now after speaking with multiple incompetent reps, they debited my bank account today when I set it up for next month!!!! It's hard to reach someone and it's a different person everytime even though they pretend that there will be one specific person that will handle your account. I may have to use my credit to move soon and because of them my credit score that I’ve worked hard to maintain is now lower than it’s been in years, so I’ve disputed the late charge and hopefully this will turn around 🙏🏾

A second chance to prosper
What made this experience great was the guidance the company gave you at the beginning, middle, and end of the experience. There were safety valves which were explained to you. In other words, if your money will be tight for one month, you are given options. Also, when you reach your goal, you are coached to not stop there, but to make sure those companies post the fact that you paid off those depts.

I am so grateful to Pat Shelby
I am so grateful, along with my family, that I found Pat Shelby when I called the HUD Hope line. I got her right away and she educated me on everything I needed to know. She was helpful, optimistic, and so deeply compassionate. She told me all of the possible options for our situation and she followed through by calling me throughout the day and gave me so many positive ideas and actions to take. When we called the bank together, a thoughtful action for her to take when she was already off work by the way, we received the best news possible. She was in full control of that conversation with the bank and handled it so smoothly. Then we were still being education by Pat on what the decision was and how things were handled.
My hope is that people out there in tough spots like ours find the compassionate ones at HUD and realize that they truly are there to help and educate. As a homeowner, there are so many things you do not know when it comes to your mortgage and the steps to take when you're in a dire financial situation. I know that no matter what the bank said, Pat was going to be at our side, guiding us through to other options and paving a way for us to have a positive outcome. My thanks to Pat for continuing to stay in her field for 30 years.

Outstanding Debt Management group
I highly recommend this organization to help manage your overwhelming debts. They are forthright and honest. My labor union recommended them. Their fees are very low, compared to other debt places. The staff are very helpful and compassionate.
