My experience with VBA was mixed.
On the one hand, I did learn some valuable lessons and tools. (All of which could be learned for a fraction of the price vba charges)

The reason for only 2 stars is that overall, the value was really nowhere near the price. The main approach that they were teaching was really not very time or energy efficient.

It was heartbreaking hearing other students in the calls on the brink of tears talking about the insane amount of work they were putting in and how little results they were getting.
And the answer from the VBA staff is always the same gaslighting type of statements like "you just aren't working hard enough" etc. In one case, it was a student who was working his ass of for over a year with barely any results.

Instead of introspecting and realizing that some of their strategies are just outdated and waste a ton of valuable energy, they kept pushing and pushing.
Meanwhile, since stopping to do their strategy and focusing on other ways, I've been able to grow way more than when I was in VBA.
They are obsessed with trying to teach the sales funnel of prospect to client, but some of the foundations of how we are actually bringing clients value is lacking.

Another core issue is that they are in the low / mid range production company mindset and don't actually understand how the real industry works as it relates to the bigger picture, like the top agencies (Smuggler, Stink Films etc)
This lack of knowledge results in them not knowing how to identify the students' potential pathways into the bigger business world of commercials at a high level.

The stubbornness and lack of perspective from them does more damage than good, in my opinion.

The cherry on top is that there are other programs that are in the same price range and give way more individual attention to each student and don't treat everyone like a number on a balance sheet. With way better strategies and understanding of the industry.

That's my experience.

A Great resource for principles and processes. I always look for something I can get at a jewel or two out of that I can implement in my business to reduce wasted time or increase productivity

About five months ago, we joined VBA because we weren't generating enough cash flow with our video marketing agency. Doing this program was almost like adding a masters degree on to my video business. The things I learned and mindset shift were invaluable. I've had multiple 10k months over the last year with a couple of 20k months. Last month I closed my biggest deal to date which came in organically through my website. Total value of the contract is 25k! Without everything I learned in VBA I would never have known what to do with this lead or been able to close it. I joined the Video Business Academy about 4 months ago and was unsure at the beginning whether the investment was really worth it.
After just 4 weeks I was able to double my turnover and in the meantime I have quintupled it! Incredible figures but true. I am optimistic about the future to continue increasing my turnover.
The strategies I've learned to attract new customers work and I'm sure every videographer can implement them. BUT: Success does not come by itself. You have to be willing to do the necessary work. Many strategies, especially in sales, require you to step out of your comfort zone every day. This is the only way to be truly successful. However, I think this is always the case if you want to achieve great things and luckily Nick, Diego, Jay and the team are always there to help you overcome challenging situations.
The live calls and especially the WhatsApp support offer huge added value, be it for mindset questions or specific business problems. EVERY participant can ask their questions in the live calls.
Conclusion: A great team of mentors, very well-structured coaching, with which every videographer who is hard-working can easily achieve the promise (10KUSD/month).

I joined the VBA Program 4 months ago, because I had started my video business a year prior and was struggling to get sustainable systems in place to get new projects and to grow the business consistently.

After just a short period of time in the VBA, my processes started to get a lot more efficient and the revenue has doubled. I will continue to improve and get their valuable insights and experience to further grow my business.

The only way you are not getting the promised results in this program is, if you are not committed to put everything they teach into action.

I've been in the VBA program for almost 6 months now. Originally committed to 3 but needed the extra time to really get the most value out of it.

I came into this program with a good understanding of business, sales, marketing, etc from my previous jobs. I already had a coach, but I knew I would benefit a LOT more having a coach in my industry. The program and especially the 1-1 feedback helped me further hone my sales skills and implement front end processes that have helped me land new clients and maintain current client relationships better.

I wasn't a start from zero and get to $10k/month like a lot people in this program. I was already starting to hit $10k months but knew I could grow more and serve more people. My 6 month rolling average through the program is now $19.2k and I'm now hiring contractors and collaborators to manage the workload. I'm planning to extend my coaching experience with them. Their advice has served me extremely well these last 6 months as I've encountered the new kinds of problems that come with growing quickly.

Here's the deal--and why I titled my review the way I did. If you read positive reviews like this and want similar results you MUST commit to implementing the things they ask you to do. Even (or especially when...) it is uncomfortable. Too many buy a course or coaching expecting it to be a ski lift ride up the mountain. Its not like that. Its more like hiring a sherpa to help you climb the mountain. That person's been up a hundred times before, but you still have to be the one to climb.

If you already have video skills but need help building a business around them: this is the course for you.

I‘ve been in the VBA for over a year now, struggling at the beginning (my fault, was too lazy and other stuff)but they will hold you accountable, the live calls, private whatsapp chat helped me a lot. They have Videos where they teach you the basics and on the Calls you can refine them according to your niche. I started with doing 0-2000 a month to consistent 10‘000 months and my best month was 35‘000. Don‘t expect that it will be easy, you have to put it into work.

I've had an amazing experience with VBA.
What i love the most are the

- The groupchat that they keep you accountable but also help you with any questions that you have at any time

The Coaching is a full package, from mindset, how to get client and how to approach pricing. I've learned a lot from it especially the mindset part. What I love the most is the direct way to talk to the coaches via Whatsapp and the live call during the week. Super investment for my business, would recommended.

Extremely packed with value. I'm ~2 months in and I've learned so much, but more than that, my mindset was changed so much, I've got much more confidence in business, I'm so much more comfortable with having higher prices, I'm ok with losing lower paying clients and generally I feel ready to leave the table in any deal making, which is like a superpower. I was sceptical when I was joining, but my logic was "they sold me on something that costs 3x more than I was willing to pay, if anyone is going to teach me how to do sales, it's these guys". And they delivered. In essence, even without the guarantee, you learn so much that making the money you invested in VBA becomes truly a piece of cake. I think it's one of those big life decisions that affect everything from now on and it's results grow exponentially. Just a few months ago, I was hoping to make $10k a month and I'm already past that. To be fair, my business was doing well before VBA, but they provided me with way more security, reliability, sustainability. Because of personal reasons, I didn't yet dig deep into the sales stuff except for the theory and a few role-play sales calls, but I see already it's going to be a complete game changer, not a single atom of doubt about that.

A couple of months ago I started with the Video Business Academy.

I have made big steps from the moment a started. I learned a lot about how to get my mindset right to grow and how to run my business better and more effective. Thanks to the personal help and support I closed my first monthly retainer for a total of 8.800 euro. I have been a VBA student for the past four months. Before joining the academy, I was a graphic designer with doing a little bit of video production. The max I got for a video was 1k. However, I soon realised that video work was my true passion.

When I first heard about the VBA, I was curious and watched all the testimonial videos from other students who had completed the program. I even reach out to some of them online. Their success stories and some motivated me to take a lip of faith and invest in myself. Now, looking back after four months of being a part of the VBA, I can confidently say that I don't regret for one second that decision I made.

I will firstly say that I spent a good amount of money on this program and at the time I didn't have any consistent income. I thought if I do the same thing over and over I will be exactly where I was, which was not enough income to live comfortable and constantly stressed and worried about money.

I went into this process not knowing if it was a scam and I can definitely say it is 100% not a scam. The team works with you on zoom calls, through private messages, and pre-recordings. I absolutely love the accountability and communication I get from the team.

I now have a system that I know works. At this moment I just closed my 1st 10k+ deal. I would not have even thought to charge that amount of money before. VBA has given me confidence and a direction that I want to take my production business.

I will say that they are giving you the keys to the castle but you have to put the key in the lock, turn it, open the door and walk through it. Even though you have invested your money you still need to invest your time and be proactive to get the full potential of the strategies they share with you.

The program is not cheap, I have been considering joining for a long time mainly for financial reasons. This month I am finishing the course. I am/was rather one of those average, weaker students. I participated very little in the live calls, however, I watched a lot of archival recordings. You can also learn a great deal from these recordings. The whole program is a tremendous amount of knowledge about selling and running a video agency. You get all the tools and knowledge on how to grow your business. All the rest of the work that needs to be done is on your side. It took me a few months to accept reality and the fact that I have to start doing things I don't necessarily like to do. Also, you have to be prepared for extreme discipline and a lot of work. Sales is a huge step out of your comfort zone. Especially for an introvert like me. However, it all works. Early on, my maximum earnings were 5k per month. In June 2023, in the last month of the program, I signed a contract for one project for €8700, this month I already have projects closed for €11,700. The investment in VBA has definitely paid off, however you have to be prepared for big changes in your mindset.

This is the hands down best course that you will ever find about closing deals and structuring your sale routine for video, photography or other related proffessions.

It does not only give you step by step guidance how to get clients to pay 10k + per project, but show you how to overcome real life objections, mental blockages and mindset.

You have a team ready for you at you fingertips on whatsapp, that guides you with any personal struggles that you have.

Me and my girlfriend did this course together. We have a child that is 14 months old, and with one side job together with running a video company we were afraid that time would be a problem.

The course was very time friendly and the VBA team helped us every time we were struggling with something.

I could go for hours writing about how good the VBA course is and how big of a success it has given us. But I wil leave you with: We started with literally 1k in our bank account. Barely enough to pay the bills.. jobs where long apart..we had to do something. The VBA Course is the best investment I’ve ever made. Closing deals up to 6k with ease..that speaks for itself.
