Received a soiled skirt

Received a soiled skirt, already worn by another customer. I offered to keep the skirt for a 50% discount as the skirt was sold out in my size. All I was offered out of a total of £34 was £4.50 discount!

Delivery and returns process very smooth

My positive review is mostly for the efficient delivery and returns process. My order was dispatched and delivered in a timely manner, and when I returned the parcel via Evri using an InPost locker I received my refund within a couple of days of it arriving with Monki. The whole thing was much smoother than I expected given the reviews here.

The clothes themselves were overpriced in my opinion, and it's odd how your order confirmation says that your payment method was Klarna even when you paid outright using a credit card. That concerned me a bit.

I don't think I'd order from Monki again as the clothes I tried didn't suit me, were in unexpected fabrics (a maxi t-shirt dress was in hugely heavy jersey which clung uncomfortably, and a shorter t-shirt dress was truly tent-like even though I bought the right size), and the lack of detail and reviews about garments means that buying is a crapshoot.

Poor quality and horrendous delivery

Like a lot of people leaving reviews, I used to love Monki. The quality used to be great.
Recently ordered two of the exact same dress in two sizes. They arrive and despite being black, one is a dark grey colour, thought I was going crazy as no grey is available!
The two dresses were then both damaged, one had a ripped seam and make up on it, the other had a cut in the fabric that looked like it was from a blade. Returned both and contacted customer service.
They told me to order another and they’d refund next day delivery for me. Go to reorder and next day isn’t even an option.. so have to use standard delivery. Still waiting 6 days later and now left without a dress I specifically ordered for an event tomorrow.

I used to love Monki…

I used to love Monki. Over the past few years I’ve had some lovey pieces from the brand, and recommended it to all my friends. However the past few things I’ve bought have been horrible quality. I bought a £45 seersucker maxi dress which looked like it was from Primark, and a terribly stitched pair of cord trousers. Both returned and I won’t be buying from them again until the quality improves. Such a shame.

I paid extra for quick delivery

I paid extra for quick delivery. Not only was it 5 days late but delivered to a collection point when I requested a home delivery due to no transport. POOR customer service did not even contact me or refund my quick delivery payment! Won’t use again!

Monki will gaslight you on sizes so avoid if you have body image issues...

Last week I placed an order on Monki to take advantage of their mid-season sale. I've been nursing a long-term ED and I'm proud to say I've been working out and eating healthy consistently for 2 months. I needed new jeans as my previous size 44 ones were big on me now, so I ordered a few pairs. I sized up out of fear that they would be too small, as I know how the H&M group is. My size 44 pants got here and they are the same size as a size 38-40, and I say this because I compared them physically to jeans in those sizes. Evidently they would not fit me. After losing almost 10 kg and dropping a size, monki is telling me I need a size 46. It's honestly appalling what they do with women's sizes and it causes a lot of harm to women & femme people. Until I thought about pulling out the size 38-40 jeans and comparing them it sent me into a spiral of anxiety and disappointment. It's put me off from buying clothes.

Really poor quality clothes in general

Really poor quality clothes in general. It's literally just H&M but more expensive. I bought some trousers, which all vary wildly in quality. The black pair catches lint like crazy and you have to roll them every time you wear them and it still won't be enough. The white pair is low-key slightly scratchy. The beige plaid looks quite nice but has started pilling on the back of the legs. The green is okay but maybe just cos I don't wear them often. This is all after some months of wear.
I also bought a knit cardigan, which has started pilling slightly despite rarely wearing it.

Nice clothes but 6 working days to deliver.

Clothes are reasonable and I like many of their styles. However, they charge £4 for standard delivery, which takes up to 6 working days (with it usually taking 6 working days). This is likely because their warehouse is in the Netherlands so it has to arrive in the UK before it can then be delivered by Evri (new Hermes). I ordered something on Saturday 12th and it likely won't arrive before the 21st. This is comparatively expensive and takes longer than many other retailers, which has put me off shopping there.

Awful awful

Awful awful! I should have listens to the reviews! My parcel is missing and just get a automated email saying they are investigating! Cannot comment on the clothes as they still haven’t arrived but I can comment on their support should your items go ‘missing’. Still awaiting for my refund! Avoid at all costs!

Never ordering from Monki again

Never ordering from Monki again. I ordered one item in summer and wasn’t happy with the fit and after a rather annoying returns process I managed to return it and get my refund. I recently ordered a few items and paid a whopping £10 for next day delivery which is absurd. It didn’t even arrive next day (fair enough, there was a storm) but all the clothes are terrible quality considering the price. The fit is horrible. So I feel cheated that I am returning all three items after paying £10 for delivery. The returns process via UPS is the most old fashioned, lengthy and inconvenient process I’ve ever experienced. Conflicting information on Monkis website and the UPS website. I have to print my own label (no one owns their own printer anymore cmon) and attach an invoice with a clear plastic envelope. Monki say UPS can provide a label (this isn’t mentioned anywhere on UPS) and they can pick it up for you (only if you pay!!!) And I’m not even entirely convinced once I take it to the ups pick up I won’t be charged an extra fee. Absolutely ridiculous. Do not recommend at all and I will never be ordering again.

I used to love this company so much.

I can’t get over my recent bad experience with Monki customer service. First of all, I ordered 6 items and they all arrived in a large cardboard box which was so big that they were all sliding about inside; everything was creased and crushed and had to be ironed. Customer services told me that it was due to the new eco-friendly, zero wastage experience that they were offering customers. I do totally applaud that, but I don’t want to sacrifice the condition that they arrive in either. I shop with other companies that have green welfare policies and they seem to manage, compostable packaging springs to mind. Worse, though, among the items I ordered were a pair of trousers and a pair of shorts, both medium as their clothes tend to come up big. Which would be fine except that there was about a 2” discrepancy between the waist measurements of these two items. At first they sounded helpful, and said that they would check the measurements of the garments. They replied saying that this: “ We've checked for you and there are no specific measurements available for the Cotton Sweat Shorts 1013407”. This is totally barmy, to be honest, plus it was the other item, the trousers, that I’d asked them to check as they fit so small. They then referred me to their size guide, even barmier as it is a generic document that refers to their clothes as a whole.
I’ve returned the trousers that were too small, and am just hoping that they process my refund in a timely fashion.
For those of you still interested in their products you might like to know that you can get them from ASOS. That’s what I’ll be doing in the future.

I would give this company zero if I could. Registered return sent back unworn, over two weeks waiting for a refund, contacted customer service twice via email. No reply or refund.

Bought a chair clip for £6

Bought a chair clip for £6, really lovely and wore it out. When I took it out (may I add I removed it gently without any real force) it crumbled and broke in my hand. Went online to type the clip in and found it for £2 absolutely everywhere else. I feel robbed.

Terrible and completely unacceptable…

Terrible and completely unacceptable return experience. First, on their page they say to contact customer service to get a return label or organize a parcel pick up. None of that is true, as I have spoken to 3 different people and they all told me to send the parcel myself. The cost for international shipping to a return department cost half the price that the item I was returning cost. Once I sent them all the receipts, item codes, order codes and tracking codes, they completely ignored my message, replied asking all the things that I have already sent them. I was told I will get the postage cost as well. I got only the money for the item. Had to email them once again.

We are living in 2022. This is a modern company. The return process should not be like that. The customer service is non-existent. I literally got no customer support and had to do it all myself, I don't know why you even have customer support/ service if there is no use of them.

Sort your things out.
