This is an absolutely fantastic initiative. I get to see this in action both in my work and home life. I have recently ordered the first set of books in stage one for my little girl. We love how we both get parts to read on the pages, and thy clever use of the monsters.
Very much looking forward to watching my daughter progress and enjoy her reading journey with the monsters !!

We recently started using Monster Phonics during home learning and it has completely changed our daughter's attitude to learning. At first she was keen to tell us all about the Monsters and their sounds from what she had been learning in school. Now she picks a sound each day and we watch the video and learn the sounds. We purchased the sound posters to help us as parents as this is all new to us. Our daughter is Year1 and she prefers maths to anything english based but Monster Phonics has literally switched her on in terms of her learning. It's been great to see the change over the last three weeks and to see her smiling and achieving success with her sounds. We would totally recommend this as an easy to use learning process for both pupils and parents. Thank you for creating such a great resource. I would also like to say that the Customer Service that sits behind this company is excellent too.

My grandchild was able to confront the new norms of school life in semi lockdown when she returned to Reception this week,very much,the family believes,because she is successfully coming to grips with the Monster phonics we have been teaching her in recent weeks. My only criticism is why we hadn't known about this totally original and effective scheme before, and I have written to the school asking the Head to consider subscribing.A young life without Angry Red, Oh No, Tricky Witch and all their friends in it seems unimaginable! We are totally in your debt, Monster Phonics.Thank you.

Having access to monster phonics has given many more options and ways to encourage language learning. The words searches, flash cards and songs are great tools to have. I would like parents to continue to have access to this source for evening homework.

Monster Phonics had excellent customer services. Everything was packaged well and my daughter has responded really well to the colours and little mnemonics used to help her learn her phonemes. Her reading and spelling is coming on really well.

My son loves reading these books, his reading ability has transformed!! The stories are exciting and relevant for today. The characters and pictures are really engaging, he couldn’t wait for the silent ghosts!! The visual prompts in the text aid learning of new sounds and reading fluency. When sounds are introduced at school we have reviewed the relevant book that introduces that sound. The app is great for learning the high frequency words. A fantastic fun way to learn to read!!

My daughter keeps coming out with things that she’s learnt on here and really enjoys playing it.

The Monster Phonics system is really good. I can see how easy my daughter has picked up the sounds. My only issue is with the website. It has been quite hard to navigate and I’m am still unsure if I have found all the resources. The help desk is very good, very quick responses to my questions.

Really helps my little girl with her reading and putting words together. Used in conjunction with school, she enjoys it meaning it makes learning fun.

As the Principal of a small Special Needs School, I am always keen to keep a close eye on new developments in teaching of phonics. At our school we have a whole range of students with different needs. We know that for these children, traditional teaching methods have been unsuccessful. A few years ago, we introduced the Monster Phonics programme, it has really helped our children develop fundamental reading, spelling and phonological skills through a fun, multisensory learning experience. Monster Phonics programme uses characters and colour coding to help the child associate and identify letter sounds, blends and whole words. The simple, but very affective colour coding of each monster characters and engaging stories and games, has helped our students learn in a way they can easily grasp the concepts. I believe that it has helped to accelerate their reading development.

Monster Phonics is fabulous!
Really helpful for pupils with SEND and just those who are struggling to remember the key spellings. Really adds a sense of fun. Good to reinforce at home with the app too.

As a Year 1 teacher I can highly recommend monster phonics whilst being really engaging it also follows a carefully thought through progression- Oh! and the songs will get stuck in your head!

I have a child in reception and in year one. My child in year 1 is having some difficulties learning to read fluently. He can recognise individual sounds but he finds its tricky to recognise these in a word. Monster Phonics makes it really easy for him to recognise the sounds and he can easily read far more complicated words than usual. We had noticed his confidence was being affected by the fact he could see other kids reading more fluently. Monster Phonics books have really started to change that for him. He feels confident and pleased he can read the book through. The colour coding just clicks for him in a way that other systems hadn’t before.

Both kids ask to use the app and love the common word power points. This has helped them change from being reluctant readers to being excited to try.

Website has tons of great resources and printouts that can be done at home.

I am so delighted I found this program - something I will remember dearly from this pandemic lockdown! My son really enjoys the books, he would reach out to them on his own and read out for himself. He loves the monster characters and his only complaint was that Miss Oh No was featured only once (in our level book series). We all LOVE Miss Oh No song! Thank you so much for putting all this together.

We implemented Monster Phonics a couple of years ago and saw an instant improvement in children's phonics. This has translated over time into substantial improvements in reading and spelling.
The children love the characters and our teachers love how easy it is to plan and adjust lessons - an all rounder winner!

We've been using Monster Phonics since October and are seeing the children really getting to grips with all the"tricky" spellings/sounds.
We had the official training last week and it was really helpful to see the overview of resources and research that underpins the program. Thank you Ingrid for a very engaging session.

We've been using Monster Phonics with Year 1 since October 2019. The children can quickly grasp the colour coded concept for different sounds and begin to see and apply the rules in other words they see outside Phonics lessons. ("That's got Angry A in the word" or "There's a Ghost sound in that word") .

We started to use Monster Phonics at our school in September 2019 and are really starting to embed it. We are loving it so far!
This scheme is so different to the others out there and this is what grabbed us when researching a new direction. There is so much planning to use and choose from and all resources are thought about. There is a display section full of bright and colourful graphics. They have though of everything!
The colours, the monsters and the songs all engage the children and they discuss their love of the characters throughout the day.
I'm so glad we found this brilliant resource.
