BEWARE DO NOT USE THIS FORM
BEWARE - DO NOT USE THIS FIRM. They are very quick to take initial payment WHICH IS NOT REFUNDABLE. Thereafter they have a complicated online form to fill which involves electronically sending driving license and two other forms of identity and then the fun begins!! You will have to pay many additional charges on top of the initial fee; car parking, propane, tv etc etc and most of all the INSURANCE charge.
AND THEY ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTACT. The live chat is a joke, it takes 10 minutes plus to get anyone to chat and then 5/6 minutes between each communication. If you e'mail they say it takes up to 5 working days to reply. There's no telephone number and it's nearly impossible to get to speak to anyone. BE WARNED

I wish I'd read the reviews on…
I wish I'd read the reviews on Trustpilot before booking with this company. I agree completely with everything thats been said. At the moment I'm waiting for the return of my £1250 deposit. I completed the form on the website and was told that I would receive a full refund. This was at the end of September. I'm writing this on the 16th October having had a very frustrating LiveChat conversation with them. I must complete another form on their website to open a case into why I haven't received the funds yet.
Below is a copy of the conversation. Judge for yourself!

Hello. How may I help you?
Andrew Hilton 10:03
Im very unhappy that I still havent received my deposit back.
Ive had an email saying I need to start a case.
I need someone to call me to sort this today.
Adam 10:05
If the in-house credit department has sent you an email regarding your booking and the process of the funds. I would advise to reply to the email. if you wish to speak to them directly the email address is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I can pass over your details for them to contact you asap, they require all correspondence to be in writing. So they would contact you via email as there is no direct line.
Andrew Hilton 10:08
This is not acceptable. Ive been told that I can expect a full refund weeks ago. I need it today or I will be contacting VISA to see if theres anything they can do. I will also be leaving accurate reviews on trustpilot as I should have had this refund weeks ago. I have never dealt with a company that wont speak on the phone!!
Adam 10:08
I will note your detail that this is urgent for them to have to looked into asap to get this matter resolved for you. Your comments will be passed over, apologies for the inconvenience. Your details have now been passed over, you will be contacted by the in-house credit department -- if you wish to speak to them directly the email address is xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Andrew Hilton 10:09
I need them to call me now. My mobile is XXXXXXXXXXXXX
Adam 10:09
I will pass over your request, however as stated they only work via email#

Well this is the case, sorry if you feel it's not acceptable that there is no phone line I will pass over this feedback

BOOKING 70809 NOT A HAPPY CAMPER
BOOKING 70809
I want to give an honest review about our experience with motorhome uk.
At the beginning, you think you are getting such a great deal when in fact as time moves on, it becomes more apparent that this isn't the case. If you would like to speak to someone, it is best to go through the sales team, otherwise you will have wait for an email which will take 5 working days and even then you'll be lucky if anyone picks up.
So welcome to the world of jumping through hoops - I have booked flights to the Caribbean and booked cruises in quicker time but they would like to make it easy for you to pay the deposit at the beginning and then after you have to supply lots of different documents including asking for letters from the DVLA etc...
They will ask you to buy optional extras including vehicle parking in a dusty yard which cost £50 in an unsecured area, toiletries, bedding, Kitchen facilities, tv licenses and the list goes on.
But don't worry! If you don't buy any of these optional extras, they will charge you anyway after your holiday.
When arriving to the dust yard to pick up the vehicle, I was given a 5 minute brief on how to use the vehicle - it was very rushed to say the least, I do not think I had time to process all the information in such a short amount of time especially when I have a learning disability in comprehending and understanding. I wasn't given chance to see for myself how everything worked.
I wasn't shown how to empty the wash tank properly but instead the man just pointed to the end of the vehicle and told me there was a switch under the motor home in which I couldn't find and spent the whole week looking for. I didn't know how to heat the water nor was I shown how to use the shower head so we were a week without showers if it hadn't been for the fact that we pitched up in a campsite with shower facilities. You are expected to fill the water tank up yourself at home when really it probably should already be done on site. I was told where the waste tub was but wasn't physically shown how to take it apart so as far as I knew I had pull the top circle bit off (the size of a toilet hole) and spray out with a hose (I still don't know if this was right) however it still wasn't good enough so I was then charged £100 for this and £75 for not emptying the sink water waste which on return the man did it in front of me and looked at me funny in an arrogant way. is this not suppose to be disposed of correctly? so basically when you think about it, I paid a further £75 for a man to flick a switch for all the water to fallout and the same switch I wasn't told about properly prior to leaving the yard with the vehicle (didn't know how to - I wasn't shown properly (I need a demonstration and then do it myself, it’s how I learn. I was also charged a parking fee of £80 even though I didn't actually park on the horrible dust yard and £9 for a tv license we rejected.
Ok so I must confess I had an accident and damaged the top panel on the driver’s side as I returned the vehicle to the dust yard - you would think that would be covered in the insurance waiver but apparently it doesn't so I’m not really too sure why you pay a waiver. If you do decide to hire then be careful with the angle you enter as the yard gates are very narrow.
So when complaining to them about the charges they have sent to me what they consider to be evidence. They took my signature, how can you take photos and add my signature to a sheet at 11:33 when I was already in and out by then? This is highly illegal but It can be proved. You cannot take someone's signature and add photos after this again is illegal and 100% fact of what happened!
To top it all off:
They have added dents to the paperwork of the vehicle and even though telling us that anything that already exist would have been logged down, nothing was in writing was actually shown to us.
I find the business unlawful and to this end I am going to go through small claims on the account of Theft and fraud
- They will now not give me back my security deposit
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE - can I appeal to any families wanting to go on a family holiday in a camper van to please avoid these people, it's just not worth the stress and now our precious memories are tarnished with the thought of uk motorhomes and this shouldn't be how you want to remember your family holidays, don't just take it from me, please look at all the other reviews with their 2.6 rating.
Thank you for reading Aaron

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!
DO NOT USE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!!!!!!
Once the booking is made they will be in constant contact by text and email trying to get you to purchase extras (bedding, crockery, toilet rolls, gas, TV licence... the list goes on). What they really want from you though is your security deposit if you chose not to pay the insurance excess waiver. Once they have that from you they begin sending the emails offering upgrades that they can "deduct" from your security deposit of £1250!
The vehicle itself was collected in Bridgend (South Wales) and was fine in itself. I returned it a day early and had it signed off with no damage etc. I was advised that the deposit would be repaid in 28 days.
Guess what? 28 days pass and no refund. I email the company (no point calling their number) and ask for my money. I then receive an email that looks like one they should have sent out at the point you return the vehicle. It asks that I click a link to complete a "completion statement". This takes you to their "portal" where you click a button. I then received another email asking that I click another link which took me to the portal again where there was a button to "pay refund". I pressed this button. Guess what? No refund received.
I emailed again. I received an automated reply from a different email address showing that the email was passed on from the admin address. I was advised that they would respond within 5 days.
I commenced an online chat. During this chat they alleged to have made the payment to me. I kept them online while I spoke with my bank. My bank confirmed that the payment reference ID was not one they recognised and that no payment had been made.
There is a clear pattern of behaviour here. For whatever reason they are attempting to hold on to deposits for as long as possible. However you look at it, they making false representations about the return of your own money. Be warned!

Thieves! Stay away at all costs
Rented from them for Glastonbury, the prices shown ended up being significantly higher due to added extras that were hidden (e.g. £5 per roll of toilet paper used). They then stole the whole deposit even though the camper was returned with no issues. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!

Getting your deposit back
Getting your deposit back
If you are reading this review having already hired a vehicle and are concerned about getting your deposit I recommend the following:
1. Immediately report the matter to your credit card company, this will prevent interest being charged against the deposit while the transaction is in dispute.
2. Dispute all hidden charges with Motorhomehire via live chat.
3. Take screen shots of live chat conversations, these can be used later to support your dispute when it is taken to the merchant bank.
4. Once 28 working days have elapsed reclaim your deposit via the portal. Again take screen shots, it will tell you the refund will take 4 working days.
5. Once those 4 working days have elapsed initiate a charge back through your credit card company, I got my deposit back within 10 days.
Alternatively take them to the small claims court. I would recommend not wasting too much time disputing with them on live chat, they keep you hanging around and will employ further delaying tactics.

Lots of hidden costs and a sub-standard service. Shocked at the extra charges that were not disclosed and then had to repeatedly ask for my deposit back. NEVER AGAIN!!!

I so wish I’d have read these reviews…DO NOT BOOK
I so wish I’d have read these reviews before I booked. We are still waiting for the return of a deposit (11th October) for a hire in August.DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. You can’t talk to anyone on the phone and they don’t answer e-mails in the accounts department so meantime I am paying interest on a deposit I should have received back by now. I hope you read this before you book.

READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BOOK!
It's well worth reading through these reviews as most of the 5* ones are only reviewing the website or the booking experience all of the bad reviews are from people who have actually used them. go elsewhere there must be better

This company is awful
This company is awful, after you book you are bombarded with emails offering extras which you need to pay more for TV licence make sure you let them have a copy of yours or they deduct from your deposit. early pickup late return.if you turn up early if its ready they'll let it go not in their interest to keep you hanging around. electric lead never paid for it, it's there anyway, cutlery etc it's in, it takes too long to take in and out. but the worst thing is the very long time it takes to get your deposit refunded, 28 working days I've never hired a van or car and had to wait this long they say it's to cover speeding fines and other offences ????? they have a hire agreement which means all they have to do is give your name and address not pay fines for you.10/10/19 still waiting for hire returned in August. Disgusting no phone contact available just chat where they cut you off short so you need to spend 5 mins waiting to reconnect. Awful Awful Awful. go elsewhere, vans are quite basic and ours was not that well cleaned smelt of urine ingrained around toilet. OK if they weren't trying to rip you off all the time.

Please do not use this company.
I have been back since August 12th so nearly 2 months and I still haven't had my deposit back. Apparently it’s left there account conveniently. I’ve also been deducted over £200 for doing in excess of 70 mph 72,73 and 75mph according to there records
Payed extra for a tv licence and even had to pay for the electric hook up cables.
My idea for a cheap break cost me more money than a week abroad.
DONT USE!!!

Scum of the earth
This company are the lowest of the low. I feel sorry for you if you have already booked - as I also read these reviews when it was too late. Despite trying to cancel a few days after the booking, they wouldn't return any of the money.
Their advertisements are a lie. They tempt you in with cheap hire and then inform you of all the additional insurance, deposits and fees when you are locked in so you have no choice but to cough up.
Every time they process a payment, it's subject to the most expensive admin fee you will ever pay £7.50-£9 per time - and they charge VAT on all charges.
You have to pay extra for everything. To give a few examples, insurance, insurance deposit, toilet paper, bedding, electricity cable, fluid for the toilet, parking on the property where you collect the home from, cleaning of the vehicle at a spectacular £60 (including fees).
The staff are rude, aggressive and they try to force additional charges on you every single week during the months leading up to the hire. Even the week before they try getting another £200 out of you. They ask if you want to pay £99 for the best available vehicle (surely it's a given they'd give their customers the best one). They then try their luck for another £99 for you to pick it up early - and another £99 for bedding, kitchen and bathroom items that should naturally be included.
As if my experience wasn't bad enough, I received a call two day before my booking saying "CAMBRIDGE OR CANCEL". A rude, uninterested teenager coughed down the phone. "Either drive another 60 miles to Cambridge to collect or we will cancel". I of course had not choice but to accept as arranging two days before my rental I would have no way of hiring another van".
If I could give them 1 star I would. Disgusting company run by disgusting people - they are a cancer to society.

more than 2 months to get deposit back
Motorhome home was beaten up and in very poor (though depot staff in Exeter were polite, helpful and pragmatic in this respect).
However when it came to getting the deposit back the company was very obstructive.
I waited the specified 28 working days and then followed the prescribed (and somewhat protracted) procedure but to no avail.
It's not possible to talk to anyone on teh phone and they don't answer your emails.
I tried live chat and waited 6 hours the first time. On the second attempt I managed to get through in 1:46hr (from second place in the queue; estimated time 10 mins!). They said my refund had been processed. When I told them it had not been received they said I needed to contact their credit control dept. I duly did this and got an auto response saying they try to respond to emails in 5-7 working days, so another week elapsed.
After a week I emailed again saying their time was up and I received a reply saying I need to open a transaction query which can take another 5 days.
I filled out the form and finally did receive my deposit back on 04 Oct
for a hire which had finished on 29th July.
It's clear that their policy is to make life as hard as possible get your money back.
I would avoid this company at all costs.

Totally Appalling Do Not Use!!!!
Totally appalling service I would never hire from this company again and would advise anyone else not too! From the start it was constant contact via text and email when our initial enquiry was made. Now post-hire difficult to get hold of anyone! There seems no synergy with sharing information and communication with other departments so very frustrating. When we requested a hire and monies paid they advised a huge deposit required of £1250.00! Which we were assured would be refunded after 28 days if no issues. We paid of course wanting the hire to be processed. On the day we went to collect the vehicle the one we had allocated was faulty, no parts to set up the 2nd bed, no parts on site or similar replacement vehicle available. They offered us a larger vehicle that was used for spares and not usually hired out, when we saw how old & rundown it was we understood why! But they cleaned it up as best they could and we wanted to continue with our holiday so we accepted. Several hours later than planned we finally set off. We returned the vehicle as agreed on the return date all signed off clear no extra charges. Over 6 weeks on we are still awaiting our deposit refund. Having chased on several occasions we have just had the details of what will be refunded less a ton of charges for apparent ‘issues’ !?! None of which are correct. Trying to query this we have been blocked by on-line chat or email communication only which is ridiculous! No-one will speak with us despite my request of escalation. This company hides behind on-line communication only and are obviously hanging onto thousands & thousands of deposits before refunding them and making their money on the vast interests that are incurring. It is totally appalling and unacceptable frustrating and stressful. From wanting to have a lovely family bank holiday camping weekend this has turned into a total nightmare. My advice DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR VEHICLE HIRE!!! Also be warned they seemingly operate under various Company names some of which are: Motorhomes UK, Motorhome Hire UK, National Motorhomes, Motorholmes, to name a few. Be warned.

How to get your deposit back!
Do not use this company. I had to secure a motorhome quickly after the one we were due to borrow got stolen. I have learnt my lesson.
Read on if you have used this company and need advice on how to get your deposit back.
Hidden extras almost double the initial booking cost then the company bombards you with texts and emails trying to get you to pay the deposit early. I can only assume this is to put your money in their savings account and earn interest on it.
When you do pay the deposit you either have to shell out £1250 refundable or £200 a week not refundable insurance excess plus a £250 deposit. Their policy is to hold your deposit for 28 days, when I queried this on the online chat system they said it was to settle any speeding fines that might come through. I smelt a rat at this stage but with a family holiday planned I had little choice really.
The motorhome was actually really nice and the holiday was great however the fun and games started after I returned the motorhome. They completely ignored my initial requests to return my deposit. I then received an invoice with extra charges for a deep clean amongst other things. The worst charge was £150 for two speeding tickets. These clearly did not exist. I haven’t been caught speeding in 20 years (not including trips to France) so the likelihood of incurring two tickets in a motorhome really was a non starter.
I hit them hard with some strongly worded emails stating very simply that they were committing fraud, I copied in the link to the gov.uk website with info about speeding tickets to prove the point, that the levy imposed on my was not logical.
I stated that I wished to make a complaint and for my email to be passed to their legal team. I assured them that I would be reporting them to trading standards, making a report to action fraud and filing a small claims action. I offered a simple solution for them to return my deposit immediately the result would be that I would consider our dispute over and the matter closed.
Oddly enough my deposit was returned immediately.
My advice is don’t stand for any nonsense from this company, they are unscrupulous and when I get round to it I will report them to trading standards.

I hope its not too late for you and you haven't already booked!
Is this company seriously responding to people's reviews with an ADVERT for their company!!! Wow - take heed people who are potentially looking to use this company that this is the way they deal with their customers.
We cancelled within 24 hours and have tried numerous times to get our deposit back £199 but we simply can't get through to anyone. PLUS!!! IF YOU CANCEL THEY DO NOT SEND A CANCELLATION EMAIL SO THERE IS NO WAY OF PROVING YOU CANCELLED WITHIN 24 HOURS!! It's a ploy to keep your money.
Seriously this guy must have some kind of disorder to treat people so badly and steal their money.
The lady on the phone lures you in... she is sooooo friendly, NOTHING is a problem, YES she said we will get a refund if you cancel. You trust her but then...... we cancelled using the website which whilst it seems a great way to manage your book BEWARE it is a way of them putting a big wall between you and them once they have taken your money because contacting them after the point of sale is virtually impossible. The only way I managed to speak to someone is by calling the booking line (not the refunds because there is only an answer phone waiting there for you there is no one to take your call). I called the booking line and it kept going to answerphone. Then I hid my number and she answered! When I said I wanted a refund she said she would take my details and that the refund department IS VERY BUSY! hahahaha! What a laugh. Just as I was about to ask a question before she even said goodbye she hung up. So infuriating. Honestly please don't even support this company. Please don't encourage this bad behaviour and business practice. I really hope that there are more honest good people who deserve your business.

Do not use!! If you want your deposit returned. I paid £1265 and I am still waiting for it to be returned. Fobbed off with promises that it would be returned. Currently, still waiting 2 months later for it to be returned. Thankfully I did it in the credit card so I have insurance. Otherwise you will have to take them to the small claims court to get back. Trust me ... use another firm with good reviews

Rubbish company don’t use.
I have never known a company like this, I booked a motorhome for 3 nights and they tried to give me a motorhome a rat would not sleep in. I refused it so after 4 hours they got me a smaller one so as I was stuck in Sheffield I accepted it.
When I returned it the young lad said it was immaculate and I would receive my deposit in 28 days.
It has now been 36 days and still no deposit...I need to wait another 10 days.
Honestly how can these people get away with it?
I will be starting legal proceedings if my deposit is not paid back.
The company has now paid back the full refund and compensated me £175 for the issues I have had. 39 working days it took to get the refund.

Really mixed experience
Really mixed experience. The booking process was pretty good - other than the hidden extras they offer to you after you've booked. Things like extra charges for pots & pans, plates, bedding etc. We paid for the extra bronze upgrade which included most of the extras we needed. We took our own bedding.
Collection was strange as no-one was around but eventually found a representative who took us through everything and the motorhome itself was superb. Lacked a radio which was a huge negative, but the rest of the motorhome was perfect.
Dropoff was quick and the rep was courteous and helpful.
Then the problems started. The deposit is held until 28 days after your booking has finished (no issue there as it is in the contract). The issue is getting it back! It's taken 3 weeks to get my money back and as you can only get in contact via livechat, it's incredibly frustrating to sit and look at a web browser whilst you move to the front of the virtual queue. It took 4 conversations on separate occasions to get them to speak to their 'merchant' and allow the payment to be reprocessed. Hey presto, it's in my account 2 days later - a mere 2 weeks after it was promised. A shame as everything else I could deal with but the aftercare (other than one person who actually helped) is awful.
