Dodgy Car dealer in Minchinbury
This review is about the 2nd hand Car Dealership in Minchinbury .... Not about any other mechanic shop or or product which may have a similar name. ......
How do I give these people zero stars? ... Is there a rating less than 1 star? ... It is hard for me to quantify the level of regret I have for my decision to buy a car from them ......
I bought a Lexus GS300 from the Minchinbury dealership in early May ... more than 4 months ago .... That evening I discovered the car had a non-functioning headlight. .... After several months of phone calls, texts, emails and even whatsapp messages the car is still without a functioning headlight. .....
At first I was told to bring the car back ... but the starter motor failed (A replacement part was covered under the "warranty" but not the cost of the tow to get it fixed) ... and then the transmission also failed ( Not covered under the "warranty" at all) . ... . Eventually (on August 14, 2025) it was agreed my mechanic would take take the headlight out and they would collect it and "proceed without further delay" (those were their words about their intentions - in writing) .. ... ..
More than (another) month has passed and there is no sign of the headlight. ... I have not heard from them. (which is congruent with their previous lack of follow-up in the months before) ... . My mechanic has also called them to chase up the headlight and they have not replied to his calls either . .. ... so when does chronic unhelpfulness tip over into blatant dis-honesty? ..... .. ..
The proprietor of motoronegarage has demonstrated an arrogant disregard for my struggles with this car, ... telling me (in writing) my problems were "irrelevant" and saying it was my "responsibility to conduct due diligence prior to purchasing this vehicle " . ... . I guess it's good he eventually told has told me I shouldn't have trusted him . ... .. It would have been good to have that key bit of information before I bought the car. ... . I hope this review will warn others not to make the mistake I made . ... .
Clearly the proprietor of this dealership has a different view of our interactions I have full copies of the extensive correspondence if anyone wants to see the whole picture. ... too much to paste it all here.
