Second time I’ve bought a car
Second time I’ve bought a car at Motorpoint Derby. The staff were very helpful, friendly and yet professional. The entire experience at the dealership was indeed a positive one. However I did not like Motorpoint telephone pool. I understand that as it is a pool, customers are dealt with quickly but it is impossible to actually talk to a specific dealership and/or salesperson (?!). When you insist, they just put you on hold for the longest time until they just cut off the call.
Conclusion: Derby Motorpoint is great. Motorpoint telephone service, rubbish

Excellent service at Motorpoint in Derby on 19th April 2026 from Chloe who sold me my Audi A3 Hybrid and part exchanged my old vehicle at a fair price. Reservation and credit checks over the phone were easy as was having to postpone my collection to later in the day at short notice due to a faulty fuse on the trade-in vehicle (which was fully rectified before handing it over). She also arranged for a complimentary battery replacement on the spare key fob to be done at the Sheffield showroom.
Also thanks to Elliot on the phone for arranging the PCP agreement and Adam at the Sheffield showroom who I had met with the week before.

I was very happy with the service I had I have not used motorpoint before so wasnt sure exactly what to expect other than what family had said.
Martin who sold me the car was very helpful throughout and didnt rush me however i did need to look relatively quickly to ensure got good price for my part exchange due to timing. The price was good and the car was very low mileage for its age

The car that I liked on the internet was at the Derby branch. So I bought it. The sales person was friendly. I have had quite a few cars from Motorpoint. The last one was great and I kept it 7 years. Collection was quick and easy, as I had to go to work later on in the day. On reflection I thought that I could have got more money for my part exchange.

New to me car
Lovely sales care and collection, smooth - really easy to buy the car .
However the interior is dirty, currently waiting to take it back- for a valet ( I live 30 miles, each way - so will be wasting my time and petrol, for something which should have been done correctly)
I tried taking my car back - wasted all morning, sales girl tried to do it, in the end - spoke to area manager, who told me , I needed to pay £50 to have the inside cleaned, as you only remove the dish from the outside. — not a happy customer, although you gave me £20, towards my mileage - I just wanted a clean interior and found rotting sweets and horrible stains ,inside the car, and rotting leaves under my bonnet .Sort of took the shine off getting a new car.
I have sent you the pictures, but no one has gotten back to me.

Check Car Service History before purchase
I had a really disappointing experience with Motorpoint. We were led to believe the car had a full service history, which was a key factor in our decision to purchase. After investing significant time and incurring additional costs, we later discovered it only had partial history.
This lack of transparency caused unnecessary stress and financial loss, and could have been avoided with clearer, honest communication from the outset. When we raised the issue, there was little willingness to take responsibility or resolve it.
As a result, we chose to sell the car via Carwow, taking a financial hit in the process. Since then, I’ve also come across similar experiences from other customers raising concerns about service history, which is worrying.
I wouldn’t buy from Motorpoint again. If you’re considering purchasing from them, I strongly recommend confirming and seeing full service history before committing.
