A word of caution for all those people who are thinking of selling their car to Motorpoint.
I recently sold my late fathers car to Motorpoint. I completed the online valuation and was given a price of £33,147 which I was happy with so I made an appointment to handover the car.
When I arrived amongst other things I was asked to provide the service history. I called Mercedes and they provided that.
The sales executive said it did not have a full service history, and the last service was done late and the next service was overdue, therefore they had to reduce the offer down by £1,400.
When I explained that the services had followed the Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Management Digital Extra schedule, he argued that this was not to be relied upon and became quite belligerent.
The facts are the 1st service was done 14 days early as per the service record and the 2nd service was not due for 56 days at the time.
Today I received an email form Mercedes stating the car was due for a service in 4 weeks time. As far as Mercedes are concerned the next service was NOT overdue. So am I to believe Motorpoint or Mercedes with regards to the service schedule? I think we all know the answer.
At best this came about due to ignorance and poor training of staff, at worst it was down to sharp practices by Motorpoint
I have dealt with Motorpoint over half a dozen times over the years, this will be the last time I do so.

Daniel was extremely helpful and friendly. He got me a decent trade in price for my own car. Not once did I feel pressured which is something I’ve felt many times when previously purchasing cars. This time was a nice experience.

I booked a car online with a confirmed collection appointment at 11:00am at Motorpoint Widnes, two days after making the booking—ample time for the vehicle to be properly prepared and inspected.
On arrival, I was asked whether I was browsing or collecting. After confirming I was collecting, I was directed to sit in the café area. I then waited 45 minutes (until 11:45am) without any update, despite staff clearly seeing me waiting.
When I was finally shown the car, I immediately noticed a dent in the bodywork. When I queried this, the staff member appeared embarrassed and admitted it had not been properly checked. I was then told the car could not be prepared that day due to being fully booked. I requested to move the appointment to the Manchester branch, which was agreed, but I was never contacted with a new date or time.
Shortly after taking the car, I received a warning indicating there was no air conditioning gas, suggesting the vehicle had not undergone basic checks prior to handover. Additionally, the brakes began squeaking during normal use.
I paid nearly £26,000 for this vehicle The service I received was extremely poor. The long, unexplained wait, lack of communication, failure to carry out basic inspections, and overall unprofessional handling made this the worst car-buying experience I have had.
On a positive note, the trainee, Lewis, who handled the final handover was very helpful and did his best in the circumstances.
Given the amount spent, I expected a far higher standard of service.

The car I wanted was in another garage. I spoke to a member of staff and within 1 hour everything was arranged from the moving of the car to the garage of my choice and finance etc in place should I wish to proceed after viewing the car. 1 week later I went to view the car and within 30 minutes I was driving away in my new car. Friendly, efficient and great service received, a very stress free experience!! Thank you Motorpoint!

Yet again in the market for a newer car so off the get George to help us decide. A really great caring and professional guy that help all the way through the process. After making him work for his money we decided to buy about the 5th car we viewed/tested. Price was good too.

After initially sending a message about a car at another branch i received a phone call to say the car wasn’t available & if they could find one at another store (Widnes had 3 variants of what I was after), also if I had a car to part exchange , I was offered a really good price for mine ( subject to viewing) so the following day i went to the Widnes store at 10am to check them out, spent a little time on my own checking the cars out found the one I wanted so went inside to speak to a salesman (Rob) he was very easy to speak too ,not pushy or giving a hard sell , we took the car for a test drive & by 1pm i was driving home in my new car after getting the quoted price for my trade in . Very easy to do business with no pushy salespeople as I found at a couple of other car showrooms, well looked after & really good experience , would definitely recommend them

Tha staff i dealt with were great, helpful not pushy.
The car I bought had a number of standard items missing, the coffee holders in the armrest, the hooks in the boot and the top engine cover.
The car was the model I wanted in the colour I liked and I had travelled a good distance to view the car so I decided to go ahead despite the missing items.
The process was fairly straightforward and I drove new car away.

I was extremely impressed with Nathan @ Widnes store and found him knowledgable and supportive- without being pushy in any way and there was no hard sell or ‘up selling’.
My car was ready for pick up the next morning but there was a slight delay in the pick up time and it hadn’t been valeted fully because of the rush. But this is a very small issue in what was otherwise a great experience and I have a lovely new car which I am very happy with - and I have an extended 4 year warranty. Should any issues arise.
I would recommend Widnes motorpoint based on my experience.

I was treated with respect by young Tom, whe met us at the door ad pleasantly asked if he could help. I told him I wasn't sure of what I wanted, and would like to look around. I after looking at the selection, I asked Tom about a certain make. He obliged and he gave me all the information I needed. It was Tom's friendly attitude that sold me this car. It is everything he said it would be. No frills, no pressure sales talk. He listened and the deal was done.

Sales when buying the car is good, staff friendly and efficient. After sales once again let them down. This is the fourth car I’ve purchased and 3/4 have needed something either repaired or is missing. The problem is once you’ve bought the car they don’t want to know and don’t have a follow up satisfaction call or sort the issue out without constant badgering. Car had chip in window-screen which to be fair was fixed the next day but my hybrid car had no cable for charging and was promised would be ordered. Maybe it has maybe is hasn’t but no one answering emails and really don’t feel I should have to keep chasing. The cars I’ve had have been good quality and pre sales very good but they really do need to improve on after sales to retain customers as due to change my other car but it puts me off going to them again as haven’t got time to chase things that shouldn’t have occurred if checks were better.
