Having decided to start using trekking poles for my next trip, I started to do some researches. I always like to support local businesses with local “made in”.
I found Mountain King and all of the reviews were outstanding, I decided to look no further and started to browse their selection, which for someone green like me, was a bit overwhelming at the beginning. I, thus, decided to send them a message to have their advice.
What I received exceeded all my expectations: instead of replying by email, Carolyn asked if we could call, she wanted to make sure she understood exactly my needs. During our phone conversation she explained very clearly all the pros and cons of each feature and guided me very well.
But what I really heard was the passion she had for this business and how proud she was of those products. There were no need to say anything else, I was convinced and purchased a pair on that day. Living in Singapore, the delivery was extremely smooth, within a few days I received them and I have been enjoying them since.

Wow 🤩 I am US based and had never heard of Mountain King until I posted on Reddit about needing new poles and what I wasn’t happy with in my current poles. Mountain King was recommended by a few UK runners and when I looked into their poles I was blown away by the weight specs and general construction. What blew me away more was the customer service! They answered all of my specific questions and helped me to decide between options for my specific use. A truly stellar company.

I have used (and most definitely misused) their skyrunner carbon poles for more than a decade. Apart from minor scuffs to the paint, none of the wear and tear has actually reached the carbon. That said, there was some corrosion to the tips and wear and tear to the plastic parts on the connecting ferrules after 10+ years of use.

I called up the Mountain King team to see if they would still service them. The team were very knowledgeable and patient about my many questions. Most importantly, they never tried to sell me a new pair, which I think is a rare thing in this age of comsumerism.

My poles were refurbished and delivered back to me in 4 working days (I am in the UK). Their attention to detail and quality of work was stunning. It was almost as if I got a new pair of poles. I also opted to upgrade to the Neo string management system, which they were kind enough to fit on for me. The Neo system is a huge improvement from their previous velcro solution, which was proably the only thing I didn't like about their poles.

Nothing but good experiences from them. Would definitely reccommend their poles for everyone.

The team made sure I got these before my event today, and honestly that made a world of difference - would have struggled to complete the event without them I think.

I’ve got the trailblaze aluminium set, and both of them are lighter than one pole from the previous company I got. They pack down small and are easy to carry. They are also strong - I decked it twice on the ice while using these quite heavily and fell on them. No bends or breaks, which is brilliant 😁

Went the extra mile to get my poles to me before an event, hand delivering them!
