EVERYTHING was miscommunicated

Worst experience I've ever had. This is our first long distance move. The sales rep Charles put at ease with rates and helped up to guestimate how much space we would need for the trip from TX to NC. We were not taking any big furniture like couches, washing machines/dryers, dressers or big beds. He assured us that even though we didn't know how many boxes we would have - that the space was dictated by how much square footage it takes up in the truck. He also assured us that we didn't have to get any standard sized boxes since we were packing with old Amazon and assorted sized boxes. He told us that our stuff would get 30 days of climate controlled storage free in Raleigh so that we could access it at one of their hubs.
Fast forward to moving day. Christian tells us that the amount of boxes is way off from when we did the inventory and that they calculate the square footage by how many small, medium, and large boxes we have. That calculating off of how much space it takes up in the truck is illegal. Well guess what - we have a lot of abnormal sized boxes. So the tiny boxes get counted as small boxes, the slightly bigger gets counted as medium. So on and so forth. He calculates that it's going to take up 1045 sqft in his 1100 sqft truck. This would result in another $1600 being added to the total (we were quoted for 860 sqft). I asked him to show me what he's calculating each box or his number count and he refused, and just had his piece of paper that with him going through the house. By that time it's too late to find another company to go with so we said fine but we want to talk to someone about this. I went to look at the truck when they were done and too and took a picture. The 1100 sqft truck was only half full, so we were clearly swindled.
Also, they informed me the day before delivery that they will only take cash on delivery which was not communicated to me at all. But guess what, it's in the fine print of the contract.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with your experience.

We would like to clarify a few points. The original estimate was based on the inventory and information provided prior to the move. On moving day, the shipment included a different quantity and variety of boxes than what had originally been estimated. Because many of the boxes were non-standard sizes, the crew was required to evaluate the actual space needed for the shipment. Any adjustment to the shipment volume and price was reviewed on-site before proceeding.

Regarding the truck, a truck’s maximum capacity is not necessarily the same as the usable space for an individual shipment, as proper loading, stacking, protection of belongings, and the shape and size of the items can affect how much space is required.

Regarding payment, the accepted payment methods for delivery are disclosed in the moving paperwork provided as part of the agreement. Additionally, approximately 24 hours prior to the scheduled delivery, our team contacted you to remind you of the accepted payment methods specifically so that you would have sufficient time to prepare the required payment before the driver's arrival. This reminder was provided in advance of your delivery, which is scheduled for tomorrow, to avoid any payment-related issues at the time of delivery.

Thank you for your feedback and for giving us the opportunity to clarify these points.

SCAMMERS

The only reason for 1 star is because 0 stars isn't an option. I am incredibly unhappy with the process of moving with frontline. First, I was told several times that I would be reached out to to confirm inventory and discuss the move before moving day. That did not happen. When the movers showed up, they decided that there was more cubic footage than originally estimated. We did add a few small items, but they basically said that the estimating software had made a mistake and every item consumed more cubic feet than the estimate stated. I got estimates from a dozen movers with the exact same photos and exact same inventory list and everybody was very close to the same cubic footage. Now the foreman on site was saying there was an extra 300 cubic feet. They wanted to charge an extra $2,200. I called and spoke with Tyler and he said he negotiated with the foreman and got it down to an additional $1,400 higher than my original estimate for a total of $4,800. I was furious, but it was the day of the move, and I was already across the country, so I had no choice. 15 minutes later, the foreman told my wife that the total was actually $5,600. I told him there was no possible way I was paying that much money. I was told to just pay it and he would try to get my deposit back. I wasn't comfortable agreeing to that. My wife ended up getting the foreman to agree to the $4800 total. The crew foreman also told my wife that the new house would need to have semi-truck access or we would be charged a shuttle fee. I spoke with Tyler because from the time I was quoted, I was told the house had to have access for a 20' box truck (he even looked at it on google maps and said it had room). He assured me that was still the case. He said they would not be driving a semi-truck. The crew loaded the truck and left and when my wife went out to the garage where everything was located, she saw that they had left 3 containers full of our stuff! We ended up having to give this stuff away because we had no room in our vehicle to bring it. I was told over and over that these movers were employees of frontline. I do not believe that's the case. They showed up wearing shirts from Barahona's moving and storage. They also had hand trucks with the same company name on them. My wife remembered that there is an Apple Air tag in the stuff that's packed on that truck. I tracked it and it was located at Barahona's Moving and Storage in Los angeles. This is also after I had been told it was en route a week prior. I called Tyler and he said he was told they were en route. He had me forward him the screenshot of the tracker. Finally I get a call from dispatch that comes up on my phone as Barahona's Moving and Storage. He informs me that they will be leaving California on Sunday the 15th and would deliver within 5-7 days. This move was supposed to be 6-10 days from the time it was picked up. Now we were ooking at almost 4 weeks. We had been living in a new home in a new state without our things for 3 weeks now. And on top of it, the dispatcher said they will in fact be in a semi-truck and that if I dont have room for it, they will have to rent a uhaul truck and charge me a shuttle fee. This entire process has been a disaster and Frontline Moving has done nothing they said they were going to do. They have misrepresented and misinformed me every step of the way. I spoke with Tyler again after i spoke with the dispatcher and even after assuring me several times over the 2 weeks prior that he could get my deposit back from MoveIq, now he told me that he can not get it returned and apparently no one could tell me how much I was going to owe at delivery. I haf to buy pots and pans and clothing to keep us going until our things got here. I have one of the very first texts from Frontline that says

"This is an all-inclusive rate. We handle the lifting, loading, wrapping, protection, transportation, and placement of vour items at delivery. Everything from start to finish is taken care of by our team
For your move from Visalia to syracuse, the estimated timeframe from pick-up tc delivery is 8 to 12 days.
Your total comes to $3,401.12. No hidden fees, no surprises - just straightforward service."

Nothing in that entire message has been true.

The move ended up taking over 4 weeks and instead of the $3400 I originally signed for, they got me for over $5600. The company is full of liars and scammers.

I had an extremely disappointing…

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Frontline Moving and Storage, and I strongly urge others to think twice before trusting this company with their belongings.

From the beginning, the pricing I was given did not match what actually happened. The estimate I received turned out to be misleading, and the final charges were not what was represented upfront. That alone created a stressful situation during what is already a difficult process.

Even worse was how the company handled damaged and broken items. When issues were reported, there was little concern shown and no meaningful effort to make things right. I was given repeated assurances that replacements or resolutions would be provided, but those promises were never followed through.

Communication throughout the process was extremely poor. Emails went unanswered, phone calls were not returned, and getting updates or accountability felt nearly impossible. It became clear very quickly that once payment was secured, customer service was no longer a priority.

What makes this experience especially frustrating is the number of times I was told problems would be fixed, only for nothing to happen afterward. Repeated promises without action is not acceptable from any professional company, especially one responsible for transporting personal property.

Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Frontline Moving and Storage to anyone. This was one of the most stressful service experiences I have had, and I regret trusting them with my move. I strongly encourage others to look elsewhere and choose a company that is transparent, responsive, and willing to stand behind its commitments.

Hello Chris,

We are sorry to hear that you feel disappointed with your experience. We take customer feedback seriously and always strive to provide clear communication and transparency throughout the moving process.

Regarding the pricing concerns, we would like to clarify that after reviewing the inventory and items being moved prior to pickup, a revised estimate was prepared to reflect the updated shipment details. This revised estimate was reviewed and approved before the move proceeded, and the updated charges were agreed upon at that time.

We understand that changes to a moving estimate can be frustrating, especially during an already stressful transition. However, our goal is always to ensure that pricing reflects the actual services and volume being transported.

We also take concerns regarding damages and communication seriously. We encourage customers to use the proper claims and customer service channels so we can review the details and work toward a resolution.

We would appreciate the opportunity to review your specific case further. Please contact our management team at service@frontlinemovings.com or (866) 885-3739 so we can assist you.

Thank you.

Extremely satisfied!!

Honestly i thought it would have been more stressful and based on what I’ve read online with horrible stories. I’m happy I got a good company. They handled everything from packing to making sure everything was well protected. I would definitely recommend frontline to anyone and I will definitely use them again. They moved our entire house glad they would remind us to just relax that they got it. I’m grateful.

Do AI search results for Frontline Moving. They will STEAL & DESTROY.

Updated 11/30/2025
Artificial Intelligence states when searched: The name TrustPilot will not allow me to list the full name directly. Frontline aka Front Line Moving & Storage is associated with a company in California (specifically, based in Northridge/Sun Valley) that has received many severe, one-star reviews and an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB). The company is accused of predatory pricing, holding items hostage, causing damage, and using third-parties (Barahonas Movers) & moving brokers (Safe Ship) that can cause confusion and issues. Multiple customers reported items being stolen or destroyed."

TrustPilot will not allow me to list the owner name or spell out business name. This section outlines deceptive moving practices involving Front Line (also known as Frontline), Bara...’s Movers, Safe Ship (broker refers to Frontline), and Anthem Claim Management. Documentation—including screenshots (no option to post pics here), Google AI business profiles, and Better Business Bureau (BBB) warnings—provides evidence.

Fraudulent Activities & Company Connections:
Front Line/Frontline and Barahona’s Movers are both linked to-TrustPilot will not allow me to list the owner name directly; Gu... Barah... though they claim to be separate. Safe Ship refers customers to Front Line/Frontline, but Barahona’s Movers handle the move on the day. These companies have used the Better Business Bureau logo without proper accreditation, and BBB has issued warnings about this-go to BBB site. Employees will not share full names or titles. On moving day, customers face unexpected fees exceeding quoted amounts—after my possessions were locked in their truck they forced me to pay over $1,000 as "I exceeded the quote" telling me they would unload onto the street & drive away.

Theft & Property Loss:
Valuable items often go missing during moves, sometimes diverted to their warehouses away from the shipment route. In my case, possessions sent from San Francisco to Seattle were separated, with valuables sent to their Los Angeles warehouses and remaining missing after 30 days/still missing. Similar patterns appear in numerous one-star reviews on other sites, indicating possible targeting of high-value items for resale. I believe my valuables were sold.

Misleading Insurance Practices:
Front Line/Frontline promotes “moving insurance” via Anthem Claim Management, which is not an actual insurer, but a third-party claims processor they pay that is based in Anthem Arizona. Their website clarifies they do not provide insurance and instead estimates a suggestion to pay customer for lost or damaged items that are denied/not honored by the movers. Your moving contract is with Frontline/Anthem but the movers who steal and do the damage is Barahona’s though same owner-TrustPilot will not allow me to list the name but is the same as Bara....

False Accreditation & Reputation Claims:
The referring broker, Safe Ship falsely claims BBB accreditation and advertises working with “vetted, reputable movers” & "Veteran owned". Following multiple complaints & so many 1-star reviews, Google removed Frontline’s original business profile. The company now maintains a new profile with mostly recent reviews-odd since they have been in business several years
and their 5-star reviews all sound alike. Patterns suggest internal generation of positive reviews.
