If this mover shows up at your house…lock the door

If this mover shows up at your house after being sent by a broker-- shut the door and just tell them to leave. This company (Moving Forward Group Inc., USDOT #3560731, Grand Prairie, TX) was the actual carrier assigned by Smooth Way Movers broker for my son's interstate move from Edmonton, AB to Pensacola, FL in late February 2026. What a disaster.

They arrived LATE on the scheduled pickup day (Feb 25). Once there, they immediately claimed the load was over 800 cubic feet (vs. the broker's binding estimate of 463 cu ft for $2,500 total) and refused to load or transport anything without an additional ~$4,000+ in cash/certified funds paid on the spot. They literally held every single one of our household goods hostage until the ransom was paid—classic extortion tactic that's illegal under FMCSA binding estimate rules (49 CFR Part 375).

They wanted an additional $4000 to deliver the house hold goods on the promised date.

This is not a legitimate mover—it's a predatory operation that partners with shady brokers to lowball quotes then extort families at delivery. I've filed formal complaints with FMCSA against both the broker (Smooth Way Movers, DOT 4167466) and this carrier, disputed the charges with my credit card, and documented everything (original binding estimate, demands, photos).
Zero stars. Professional scammers preying on vulnerable people during moves. If you're assigned Moving Forward Group—cancel immediately and find a reputable direct carrier with in-home surveys and transparent pricing. Stay far away!

I urge you to do your own deep research on these guys.
