Our local movistar shop
Our local movistar shop. Burganvillas Vera is just the most unfriendly, unhelpful, rudest shop. The monthly amount given to movistar abs this is absolutely unacceptable customer service. They need to just ask locally about this particular branch. There is absolutely not a good word said. I needed help yesterday wrote on a scrap of paper and I am convinced still won't be actioned as. That's the second visit. There is amount extra being taken every month 12.35 and it needs to be blocked still not done. Over a year that's a lot of money. Can't or couldn't be asked to tell me who too. Dreadful and they don't need to be like that.

Movistar. The latest Cuts.
Movistar.es has gone from poor to hopeless! Removing average chanels and replacing with Zero or less then 0! What a moneygrubbing nasty customer-unfriendly waste of internet space. 2025 hurrah for the accountants. Shame on Movistar!
Movistar is a thief!!
Movistar is a thief!!! I bought a prepaid card from them and it arrived without a delivery note, can't be activated. All their rude agents are denying my purchase and telling me that they can't help me! They stole money! The most irresponsible and shameless company with rude agents! Stay away!
This company is an absolute disaster
This company is an absolute disaster. They are unorganized, deceitful, and completely lack transparency across their departments. I have been dealing with their incompetence since late September when my radio internet service suddenly stopped working. I called, and they claimed the antenna in my region was down, which was the reason I had no internet. When I requested a technician to come out, they refused, citing the issue was "regional" and "out of their control." I asked for an estimate on how long it would take to fix, and they couldn’t give me an answer.
As someone who works from home, reliable internet is a necessity. For weeks, I’ve been forced to use my cellular data while trying to work from cafes. I called Movistar repeatedly, and each time, I received the same empty response. They offered me unlimited 5G data as a temporary solution, which I thought was a step in the right direction. But once I used up the data, I called again, only to be told they had no record of that promise. In fact, they outright denied it—despite me having a screenshot as proof. When I called them out on their lies, they simply claimed the offer had been sent in error. This was a blatant attempt to dodge responsibility. I had used up all my data under the assumption that I had "unlimited" data, and now they refuse to honor their commitment.
Even worse, I’ve been paying for home internet that they weren’t even providing due to their broken antenna. After being fed up, I requested to cancel the service, but they persuaded me to stay, offering a supposed "discount" on both my phone and internet plan with the promise that the issue would be resolved within a week. Another week passed, and still no internet. I went to one of their physical stores, explained the situation, and finally agreed to switch to fiber internet—losing my discount but at least securing a better, more reliable connection. But surprise, surprise, the fiber internet they installed was just as unreliable—slow, spotty, and constantly disconnecting.
I called multiple times, and every time they promised a technician would call back within 2 business days. Of course, that never happened. Finally, after hours of complaining, they agreed to send me a "stronger" router—one with 25% more coverage, at no extra cost. They said it was on its way, but when the supposed delivery date arrived, I was home all day and heard nothing. Then I get an automated message saying they attempted delivery and I wasn’t home. This was a flat-out lie. When I called them again, they said they hadn’t actually sent anything yet and would have to send a technician out to install a new router. Again, after three failed attempts, I had to endure the same lies. They eventually sent the router—a model identical to the one I already had—yet the problem still wasn’t resolved. I spent another week waiting, hoping the new router would fix the issue.
Now, I’m on my 10th week with no reliable internet—six weeks without service at all, and four weeks with intermittent, terrible service at a much higher cost. The last straw came when I received a call late at night, where I had to explain my entire ordeal once again. The agent assured me the new router was on its way, but right after that call, my internet completely stopped working. When I called back, they informed me they had shut it off. They didn’t bother to tell me they were going to do that. I was working, and they cut me off without warning. They didn’t even provide an exact delivery date for the new router. So now, they expect me to pay for a service they’ve canceled without notice, while I’m stuck in this endless cycle of frustration and lies.
This is a warning to anyone considering Movistar: *Do not trust this company*. They are unprofessional, dishonest, and have zero regard for their customers’ time or needs. Stay far, far away.
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs!
We had 3 mobile lines with them. We contracted multi sims to use in our GPS modules for our fleet of cars. we specfically said we need unlimited data and they didnt mention that SMS is not unlimited. We got an extra cost of 430 euro! for 30Mb worth of SMS data !!!
Afterwards we had a TV purchase which we decided to pay in 12 months payment plan. We are now in 5th month they are debiting the fee and we havent recevied the second TV after first one was Faulty. Imagine today when speaking 4th time to customer care they were asking me if the transport company came to collect the defective tv. you must be joking me if you have such shit internal processes.
This company needs a class suit !

Worst provider in Spain
I contacted Movistar to arrange the relocation of my contract to my new apartment, and they promised to send a technician.
However, the technician never showed up. As a result, I decided to contact Movistar to cancel my contract and switch to another provider.
When I spoke with customer support, they informed me that they couldn't cancel my contract because their system still showed that a technician was "on the way" — even though this was more than 48 hours after the scheduled appointment. They asked me to call back in another 48 hours. When I did, I was told the same thing: the system still showed that the technician was on the way, and I was asked to call back again.
After calling yet again, I was informed that the previous agent had failed to update the status, and I would need to wait another 48 hours before calling back.
At this point, I requested written confirmation that the issue was on their side and informed them that I would not be paying for the service during this period. They promised to send this confirmation via email and assured me I would receive a call within 48 hours to proceed with the cancellation.
I never received a call, and they continue to charge me for the service.
If it were possible, I would rate their service even lower.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. When out of contract they took a further payment from my bank which I called back as I had payed the final payment the month before, then they sent an email wanting it payed, I emailed stating I owed nothing, then the threats started through several debt collection agencies, I spoke to the final one and after sending the email I had received stating date contract ceased they agreed I owed nothing. The phone company still insisted I owed money and if if was not payed my name would basically be put on a debtors list, in the end I payed as I don't need that hassle.
Do NOT use this company!
Do NOT use this company!! I would give 0 stars if I could… First of all we have called them 10+ times to fix our internet, they make us appointments and send us confirmation, but they NEVER show up. We also got an upgraded package with movistar+ which was 2 months ago, they still have not come to us to fix it or upgraded it for us… we have called SO MANY TIMES and many promises is made but they don’t do anything… it’s simply just laziness and scam and not professional AT ALL.
Another victim of Movistar's terrible internet reliability
On 29 August my Movistar 1Gb fibre stopped working. It was not restored until 18 September - three weeks later. As a result I had to lease space at the nearest Regus Serviced Office Space (50km away) to deal with important legal issues. Movistar has refused to reimburse me for this expense.
During the breakdown Movistar's ability to communicate with me was appallingly poor. I note from other contributors that mine is not an isolated case.
I was able to communicate with Movistar via 'X' Direct Messages. The customer services agents answered me promptly but it was obvious they had no information from the engineers appointed to repair the fault. Indeed, I knew more about the cause of the fault - through other Movistar employees - than the official system.
I chose Movistar because they own the sole fibre in my street. I was prepared to deal with the second largest Spanish ISP at a premium price. I suggest others do not
Beware of Los Cristianos branch
Let me start by saying, Do not visit the branch in Los Cristianos. They would get a no star rating.
The five stars are for the experience as explained.
A simple request (and a lot of time spent with her personal calls being taken) for a basic internet and mobile ended up with a sneaky sign up to the full package including TV and other not even heard of 'frills'
Two engineers arrived the following week at the Finca to check the availability of fibre.. There is no such thing up there in the 'boonies'. We told this to the girl in the branch. it would have to be a 'radio internet' connection. We have a similar set up for the alarm system.
Three weeks later and another wasted trip to the Cristianos branch, because nothing had happened, we tried the branch in X-sur centro comercial near Adeje, It's Inside a shopping mall.
Open for longer hours and staffed by a team who know their stuff. Everything was sorted out within twenty minutes. The 'box of tricks' arrived by post three days later, and it was up and working within 10 minutes. Just as it should have been three weeks earlier if dealt with properly in the first place.
Never go to the Los Crisianos branch They do not listen.
Having just recently bought our house
Having just recently bought our house, we were excited to find that we have a fibre cable to the house, so we signed up with Movistar for their 600mb fibre package. What a mistake, we can only use it if we are close to the router, and we are unable to stream anything. We are trying to contact them to sort it out, but so far without success.
It would be great if movistar responded and sorted out the problem
Impossible to cancel
Impossible to cancel. Spoke over the phone for an hour. You would think at this age 2024 this would be easy. Go somewhere else and avoid this trap.
Worst experience ever starting with the…
Worst experience ever starting with the staff in the office to phone support operators.
I have been a paying customer of Movistar with a contract for Fibra, 5 SIM cards, for over 5 years. When I lost my SIM card, I went to request a duplicate. It should have been the simplest operation.
However, it turned into a nightmare- has been more than a week now—with 3 visits to the shop, 4 hours on the phone with their tech support (1002), and 2 lost days waiting at home for the technician to come (they never showed up, despite a previously confirmed appointment).
All of this trouble started because I didn’t immediately activate the Movistar Plus box that they sent me for free with a new tariff. I wasn’t even planning to use it since I have a Smart TV with all the apps I need.
Forced to change phone number loosing established over the 5 years connections.
The Spanish government made a mistake…
The Spanish government made a mistake allowing Telefonica to have such a large internet infrastructure.
This company has no direction, no plans, no goals, no ambition and no idea on how to run an internet company. They are slow, unreliable and unable to communicate (funny for an internet company that provides network communication)
We're 10 months waiting for FTTH in a new building, this is the ideal environment for Movistar to come in and install their equipment. It takes 10 months+ to even have someone visit, they visit without saying a word and leave without saying a word. No communication and nothing installed.
Embarassing, how can Spain move forward with such a poor internet provider.
