Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 85 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported significant issues with subscriptions and payments, often being charged for annual plans despite selecting monthly options or without clear consent. People also found it nearly impossible to cancel subscriptions, with charges continuing even after attempts to stop them. Furthermore, consumers frequently criticized the product itself, noting that it often failed to follow user input or prompts, producing irrelevant or unusable output. Reviewers also experienced a frustrating user interface, slow and glitchy software, and a lack of effective customer support when trying to resolve billing or product-related problems.

Buyer Beware

Buyer Beware! Their free trial makes you sign up for a month but you don't see that the setting is set on a one year subscription. After I looked through the program, I wanted to cancel and noticed I was charged via PayPal for a one year subscription. Neither Mureka or PayPal would refund my money. I'm now talking to my bank. Check out the reviews. This company has a poor reputation and weak product.

Capable of creating only cringy-worthy songs for Eurovision

If you want to create a song too cringe even for Eurovision - then use Mureka. Want to cancel your subscription? Too bad - you have to contact PayPal or Apple to do it for you. Absolutely terrible business, terrible service, terrible output generated, and terrible product overall.

Be cautious of the monthly subscriptions; they actually charge for a full year and are non-refundable. Even PayPal has reported that your money is still deducted for a one-click payment. When using your own voice AI for singing, the quality is worse than your original voice, resembling a robotic sound. I have already paid 250 euros for a year, thinking it was just a monthly payment, but that is not the case.

The latest versions (Mureka V7.5 and…

The latest versions (Mureka V7.5 and V6) are completely unusable. The AI no longer follows prompts at all. If you ask it for a rap or boom-bap beat, it spits out classical music. Ask for drum and bass, you get random rock tracks.
It ignores all instructions, and no matter how detailed you make your prompt, the output is unrelated to the requested genre or style. Features that worked well before the update are now broken or inconsistent.
For a paid service, this level of unreliability is unacceptable. Customer support is unresponsive, and there is no option to revert to older versions that actually worked. I cannot recommend this tool in its current state.
Pros: None in the current versions.
Cons: Ignores prompts, produces unusable music, unresponsive support, recent updates broke functionality.

So much potential, obvious knock-down from the big boys

I used Mureka for a couple of months with great success, I really liked what I recieved from prompting so I raised my subscription. Almost immediately after that I prompted metal and got jazzy kinda pop-rock. Several times now, it will not prompt correctly. It was fun, but not anymore-obviously they got a spanking from the big boys.

Don't do it. The good days are behind them...

Fake advertising and poor quality of service.
I was misled by their advertising and requested a cancellation as soon as I realized it. Instead of issuing a refund, they redirected me to PayPal and asked me to open a dispute, which I did immediately.
This practice feels deceptive and unprofessional.

Terrible Voice Cloning, Low Quality, No Refunds, and Shady Billing

I wish I could give zero stars. I signed up for Mureka.ai specifically for the voice cloning feature, as I write my own lyrics and wanted to hear them in my own voice for my songs. Even on the discounted plan (around $30 plus tax), it was a complete waste. I uploaded a clear, high-quality voice sample, but the generated output sounded nothing like me – it was a generic, off-pitch voice that ruined everything. The overall song quality was poor: muddled audio, inconsistent vocals, and it often ignored my prompts for style or structure.

After just one generation, I realized it wasn't workable and immediately contacted support for a full refund, since I'd barely used any credits. Their response was a blunt no – they claimed any credit usage voids refunds, no exceptions. This feels incredibly unfair when the core feature (voice cloning) simply doesn't deliver.

I regret not digging deeper into reviews first. Had I done so, I'd have seen the flood of similar complaints: voice cloning failing to match uploads, outputs described as "robotic" or "trash," strict no-refund policy even for minimal use, and major headaches with billing. Numerous users report accidental annual charges instead of monthly, no easy cancellation option in the app/site (forcing people to contact support or block via bank/PayPal), unauthorized continued charges after supposed cancellation, and unresponsive or automated customer service that just quotes terms without helping.

On top of that, there are ongoing lawsuits from independent musicians accusing Mureka of training its AI on copyrighted material without permission, which raises serious concerns about the legality and ethics of using their outputs.

This isn't worth $5, much less full price. The service feels more focused on locking in payments than providing reliable value. Save yourself the frustration and steer clear – do thorough research on any AI music tool before committing.

Avoid - it's crap!

Would give 0 stars if possible. Signed up for the monthly subscription (to generate a fun tune for a work project). Discovered 2 days later they had charged for an annual subscription. Impossible to get money back and PayPal not interested. Customer service non-existent, just keep sending me an copy of their T&C's that state they do give refunds but actually getting them to action it is impossible.

Wouldn't be so bad if what they produced was half-way decent but it wasn't. I was trying to produce a version of the 12 days of Christmas with customised lyrics and it kept missing out versing, missing lines or repeating things incorrectly, and It ignores any prompts in regard to musical style (since when did an original carol style include rapping!!).

Avoid at all costs

So I really do think it’s such a good app and like you can make music on it but the thing is I don’t think you need to pay money and I downloaded the app. The thing is it told me it was for free and all that shit I even googled it on chat GPT on Google and all that shit and it told me it’s right and then I was gonna make a heap of heaps of songs And then I had to pay money to make even more songs so I don’t like it because like you have to pay money, like I feel like it just needs to be free
