I reached out to Muscle Nation customer service with a few questions about my order and some of their supplements, and Dakota was the one who helped me. Honestly, it was one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time.
She replied really quickly and was super friendly and easy to deal with. I had a couple of questions about products and my order, and she explained everything clearly without making it feel rushed or like I was just another ticket in the system.
Dakota went out of her way to double-check some details for me and made sure everything was sorted properly. It’s rare these days to get customer service that actually feels personal, but she genuinely seemed to care about helping rather than just closing the conversation.

Very disappointing experience with the…
Very disappointing experience with the returns process.
I attempted to return a pair of shorts that cost around $50 and selected an exchange for a different size. During the return process, the website did not clearly explain that choosing an exchange would automatically trigger an “Instant Exchange” and place a temporary authorization hold on my card.
As a result, a hold of around $120 was placed on my card — more than double the value of the item I was returning. This meant funds I needed over the weekend were suddenly unavailable.
When I contacted customer support to explain that the return flow was confusing and that I had not realised a hold of that amount would be placed on my card, the responses I received were very dismissive. I was repeatedly told that it was my responsibility for not reviewing the policy, rather than any acknowledgment that the website process could easily be misunderstood.
I also asked if the replacement item could be cancelled or if a goodwill gesture could be offered due to the inconvenience, but both were refused as the exchange had already been shipped.
Overall this was a frustrating experience. I’ve returned items with many online retailers and have never had a hold placed on my card for more than the value of the item without it being made very clear during the return process.
I would strongly recommend the company review how their return portal presents exchanges and authorization holds, as the current process can easily lead to customers being caught out.

This hold is not a charge and is released automatically once the return is scanned in transit or 7 business days later (whichever comes first) which you successfully had done.
Our customer service team responded friendly and promptly, acknowledging your concerns on multiple occasions and explaining how we could assist within our policies. We also clearly outlined how the authorisation hold could be released immediately.
Regrettably we were unable to cancel your exchange order as this was already in transit to you. We do apologise for any disappointment this may have caused.
Requesting a store credit or gift card as a gesture of goodwill because the policy wasn’t read at checkout is not something we can offer at this point in time. We always encourage customers to read our policies before making a purchase or exchange to avoid confusion.
We apologise that this was not the experience you were hoping for. We appreciate your feedback and will take it onboard to continue improving how we support our customers.

Fantastic company.
Clothing sizing is true to size. The oversized Tees,4XL, easily fits ladies 26.
Extremely inclusive with their offerings to all sizing and shapes.
Their whey isolates and daily shakes are great, can be mixed with milk or water.
Their protein waters are great to sip on throughout the day. I place 1 scoop in a1.5litre bottle and drink while I'm out and about.
I haven't found a flavour in any of their products that I don't like.
Their new desserts, yoghurt and custard powders are simply perfect for the sweet treat.
Their energy drinks are amazing.
There is not one thing I can fault with their products, or the company.
The staff are extremely friendly, thoughtful and well knowledgeable in their products.
Best customer service I have encountered in a long time.
If you're on the fence about trying them, give them a go.
Their delivery time frames are super quick, considering I am rural South Australia and things usually take forever, not one delivery has taken over a week.
(If you can't wait, take a trip to Coles, Woolworths, Chemist Warehouse, or selective stockists)
Its become an addiction, one that I'm happy to keep.
Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Do not trust this company
I ordered a shirt from muscle nation and upon opening the package I saw that it was clearly too big. I packed it up straight away and mailed it back. The company received my return and told me that the shirt was damaged. They sent me a replacement shirt and charged my credit card for another shirt because they said the one I returned was damaged. I know very well that I did not damage or stain the shirt I returned. I didn’t even try it on. I saw that it was too big and repacked it immediately. I reached out to the company who said that I damaged it and sent some cctv footage of a girl opening what they claim is my return. There is NO visible stain on the shirt in the cctv footage, and then they sent a photo of a random shirt that looks a totally different color, with a stain on it, and claimed it is the shirt I returned. They charged my card twice without authorization and will not return my money. They are stonewalling me and just keep spouting their return policy and will not address the points I am making that there is NO stain on the shirt in the cctv footage when the package is opened. They have NO way to prove that the shirt wasn’t damaged when the girl opened my return and are just blaming me and illegally took money, unauthorized, from my credit card because they say I damaged the shirt. We tried to reach out to them on social media and they blocked us. Their customer service is AWFUL, and they will block you and stonewall you, and won’t address your points or questions. We have heard from other people who have had this exact same thing happen to them with this company. I do not recommend buying anything from this company, unless you want them taking money, unauthorized, from your account. Muscle nation claims that the statements I have made are not accurate. They are very accurate. Just read the other one star reviews.. the same thing is happening to other people and this company will not take accountability or responsibility for anything. There’s no cctv footage of the damage / stain on the shirt and a photo of a stain on a shirt once it has been touched by employees within the company does NOT definitively prove that I caused the damage to the shirt. The stain could have been caused by whoever else touched the shirt after opening the return package, especially since the cctv footage shows NO sign of staining or damage!.. This company is absolutely untrustworthy, and all of their responses on trust pilot reviews are the same.. refusing to take accountability and charging people for damaged items without DEFINITIVE PROOF of WHO caused the damage.. which is ILLEGAL. A photo of a tshirt that has been opened from the return package and touched by people within the company DOES NOT prove that I stained the shirt. There is NO stain on the shirt in the CCTV footage when the girl removes the shirt from the return package. I have asked numerous times for DEFINITIVE proof of the stain on the tshirt AS it comes out of the return package, before it is touched by other people, which would definitively prove that I caused the damage, yet they will NOT provide this to me, because they do not have it, and are just alleging that I stained the shirt based on a photo of a shirt with a stain on it, which can’t even be proven to be the actual shirt I returned, and charging my credit card based upon that allegation. I will never order from this company again, and I would never recommend a company who can just make up anything they want about your return, without DEFINITIVE and without a doubt proof, and charge you for it. That is so untrustworthy. I have the cctv footage and if I could upload photos here I would absolutely upload screenshots or video of the cctv footage where the girl opens the return package and NO stain is on the shirt! Absolutely do NOT trust this company! Read their other 1 star reviews!!! .. And if my statements aren’t accurate, as they claim in their reply to this review.. then Muscle Nation, I ask you to upload the footage from the CCTV that shows the stain on the shirt before it is fully taken out of the return bag and touched / contaminated by your employees. BEFORE it was laid out on a table with someone else’s hands for a photo to be taken. Why can you not provide cctv footage of the stain as it’s being taken out of the return bag?.. I have the original cctv footage, it was emailed to me. And you can clearly see that there is no stain on the shirt where there is then a stain in a separate photo of the shirt, after an employee within your company touched / contaminated it. Do you honestly think that counts as proof that I stained the shirt?.. Do you think that will hold up as viable evidence in a court of law?.. I will await the cctv footage with proof of the stain as it’s being taken out of the bag. Otherwise you’re just alleging that I stained it. I returned it in PERFECT condition.

We’re disappointed to read this review, as a number of the claims made here are unfortunately not accurate and do not reflect what occurred with your sister’s return.
When the return parcel was opened by our team, a stain located just below the collar along with a hardened brown substance in the centre of the stain, was immediately noticed. The CCTV footage we provided shows the return satchel being opened, the garment being removed from the package, and the mark being noticed immediately by our team member before being shown to another team member prior to any further handling. The garment was then photographed to capture a close-up of the damage as part of our standard returns process. In the footage, you can also see the angle at which our team member photographs the item, which corresponds with the angle shown in the image previously provided of the marked area.
While the CCTV camera is positioned approximately 15 metres away from where the team member was processing the return, the purpose of this footage was to demonstrate both the process followed when returns are opened and the exact timing at which the mark was identified. The timestamps from the CCTV footage align with the date and time metadata from the photos taken of the garment at the time of inspection.
We also note that in the video your sister later sent to our team while opening the parcel we returned to her at no additional shipping cost, the hardened substance on the garment was picked off. However, the surrounding residue and stain on the fabric remain visible in that same video, which is consistent with the condition identified by our team when the return was first opened.
All returns are assessed in line with our Returns Policy which is publicly available on our website and agreed to when lodging a return. Items must be in original condition, unworn, and free from marks, odours, hair, or damage to be approved for exchange or refund. In this case, the garment did not meet these requirements and was therefore deemed ineligible for return.
To clarify another point raised in this review, no money was taken “illegally” or without authorisation. Your sister chose to proceed using our Instant Exchange option when lodging her return. As outlined in the terms of this service, customers authorise Muscle Nation to charge the card saved on their returns account if the original item is not received within the return window or is deemed ineligible upon inspection. Because the garment was not received in resaleable condition as required under our policy, the charge was processed in accordance with the terms agreed to at the time the exchange was initiated.
For clarity, only one charge was processed for the ineligible return item. The original garment was returned to your sister free of charge and is now back in her possession, meaning all items that have been paid for remain with her.
In regards to restricting contact through social media, we also want to reiterate that yourself, your niece and sister was asked to keep all correspondence within the existing email thread. Our social media platforms are managed by multiple teams and messages can sometimes be opened or missed. Keeping communication within the same email thread ensured all information, evidence and responses were contained in one place so the matter could be addressed thoroughly and appropriately.
We understand this outcome may be frustrating or not one you hopes for. However, our team has followed the same policy and hygiene standards that apply to every return to ensure fairness and safety for all customers. This matter has already been reviewed extensively and all relevant documentation, timestamps, images and footage have been provided directly to your sister for transparency.

Worst protein water I’ve ever had
I’ve used Muscle Nation products for quite a while and generally found them decent, which is why this one was such a shock.
The Creaming Soda protein water is easily the worst tasting protein drink I’ve ever had. The powder smells normal enough in the bag, but once it’s mixed with water it develops a horrible smell and a sharp chemical aftertaste that makes it almost impossible to drink. It’s nothing like creaming soda.
For context, I regularly use several of their other protein water flavours and none of them have this problem. This one is completely different and not in a good way.
At roughly $80 a bag, I expected something at least drinkable. Instead it ended up being a product that I simply can’t consume.
When I contacted the company, the response was essentially that the batch tested “normal” and that taste is subjective. Apparently the suggested solution is to sell it on a Facebook swap group.
For a premium priced supplement brand, that’s not a particularly impressive way to handle a legitimate complaint.
Avoid this flavour.

A retained sample from the same production batch as the product you received was tested for aroma, flavour, and overall quality against our specifications. The assessment confirmed the batch met our quality standards, and no abnormalities were identified.
We understand that taste perception is subjective, and while you are very familiar with several of our other Protein Water flavours, each flavour has a unique formulation and flavour profile. The Creaming Soda flavour may not suit your personal preference, but this does not indicate the product is faulty or unsafe. Under Australian Consumer Law, remedies apply where a product is found to be defective or does not meet acceptable quality standards. As our testing confirmed the product is within specification, it is not considered faulty, and a refund or replacement cannot be provided on this occasion.
We provided the option to return a sample via a free returns label so that our team could assess it further. Should testing identify any issues outside of specification, we would absolutely provide an appropriate resolution. The suggestion to resell via a Facebook swap group was offered purely as a practical option for recouping cost if no fault was identified, not as a dismissal of your concerns.
We understand this outcome may be frustrating and apologise that this flavour did not meet your expectations. Your feedback has been noted and shared with our product team to inform future flavour development and quality monitoring.

Obsessed with the Unrivalled collection 🔥
I’ve been really impressed with the quality of Muscle Nation’s activewear, especially the Unrivalled collection, which is my absolute favourite! 💯 The leggings and bike shorts are super comfortable, supportive, and very flattering. The fabric feels thick and high quality, but still breathable enough for workouts.
What I love most is that they stay in place during training and don’t roll down, which is something I’ve struggled with in other brands. The fit is amazing and really makes you feel confident, whether you’re at the gym or just out and about. 🖤

Sketchy from the start
My partner bought a bunch of stuff. The sizing guide was way off (like two sizes out!), so some of it had to be returned for exchange. They actually placed a hold on her card for the value of the replacement items... good luck if you have bills due or anything! That was the first d*ck move.
They charged her an extra 10 bucks delivery too - c'mon guys, this is the 21st century - thats not even a thing anymore! Most online retailers do free returnes and exchanges these days, get with it!
Then they refused to exchange one pair of leggings because it had a hair on it! A hair ffs!
They sent the leggings back to her (tried to charge another $10) and the leggings were absolutely covered in marks that were not there in the first place. Dodgey hey?
They tried to explain their way out of their grossly misleading size guide by pointing out that my partner had not reached out to them for clarification on sizing. And that the size chart is intended to be a guide only. I'm sorry but that sh*t won't fly... you publish a size chart on your website - you know full well that this is a tool that potential customers can be expected to rely upon when making a purchasing decision. When the size chart and product do not match, this constitutes a major failure - the product cannot be used as intended. My partner tried to do the right thing by exchanging the item for another size, and Muscle Nation saw it as an opportunity to milk more money out of her!
Muscle nation seriously need to pull their head in. It's too easy for companies to get away with this kind of sh*tty behaviour online.
They try so desperately to explain their way out of bad reviews too - that in itself is a pretty big red flag. Honest reviews must be quite damaging.
Stay away from this mob of thugs, there are far better brands out there.

We’re disappointed to read this review as a number of the claims made here are unfortunately not accurate and do not reflect what occurred with your partner’s return.
Your partner’s return was not rejected because of a single hair, as suggested. When the leggings were inspected by our returns team, the garment arrived with excessive hair both inside and on the outside of the item, along with visible marks and glitter transfer which had imprinted into the fabric. Due to the amount present, our team attempted to gently remove it, however it could not be cleaned to a condition that would allow the item to be resold.
For the safety and hygiene of our customers, this is also important. Some customers have allergies or sensitivities to hair or animal fur, and because the hair could not be removed from the garment, it meant the item could not safely be returned to sale. As outlined in our Returns Policy, garments must be returned unworn, unwashed and in original saleable condition.
We provided your partner with photos and a detailed explanation of the findings at the time. We also then returned the item back to her at no additional cost.
In relation to the replacement order hold, this is not a charge. It is a temporary authorisation hold, which is clearly explained within our Returns Portal and policy. Customers must agree to these terms and conditions before proceeding with an exchange request, as the hold simply ensures replacement stock can be reserved while the return is being assessed. If the return is approved, the hold is automatically released.
Regarding return shipping, the $9.99 return label offered through our portal is a discounted courier rate, which is often significantly cheaper than what customers would pay if arranging postage independently. Many retailers charge for returns, particularly for exchanges (as the business is paying for 2 shipping labels), and this is clearly outlined in our policy before a return is lodged.
Our size guide is based on standard body measurements and is provided as a guide to assist customers. Because bodies and personal fit preferences vary, we always encourage customers to reach out to our team if they would like personalised sizing advice. Something we are always happy to provide.
We understand that returns can sometimes be frustrating, but we always strive to apply our policies fairly and consistently for every customer. The return in question was rejected because the garment could not be safely resold, and for the safety and hygiene of our customers, including those with allergies or sensitivities, this was our top priority.
While we value honest feedback, it is important to note that publicly sharing inaccurate information can be damaging to a business, and we encourage reviews to reflect the full and accurate context of what occurred.
