Some outstanding features at Mutual Art

Mutual Art provides a huge data base of art and artists with high quality images and information. The option to receive updates on selected artists is very helpful as well. The website is very well designed for ease of searches and navigation.

I provided payment for 3 paintings

I provided payment for 3 paintings. I did not received services rendered for 3 paintings. A part of the problem is the website allows for payment of 2 or 3 pieces. The issue comes later when it says only one submission per pay. Ivan Bidoli is a world famous artist who recently passed in January of 2024. His brother art increased 10x when he died prior.

Thank you for your feedback. We believe there has been some misunderstanding. You have not submitted a third appraisal, and it is not limited to one submission per payment but rather one artwork per submission.

You initially submitted one artwork, which was appraised, and the valuation report was sent to you. You then made another submission that included three individual artworks, one of which was the piece that had already been appraised.

We have requested on multiple occasions that you choose which of the remaining two artworks you would like to have appraised under this second submission and provide the required information for that artwork. You can then submit your remaining artwork at any time using the credit you have already purchased.

Without the requested information, we are unable to proceed with the remaining valuations. Please provide the necessary details so we can complete the process as soon as possible.

Regarding the artist’s passing, unfortunately this does not necessarily mean that the value of the artworks will increase, and certainly not within a short period. While an artist’s death can sometimes lead to increased interest in their work due to the end of their production, the actual impact on value depends on several factors, including market demand, the artist’s historical significance, sales records, and collector interest. These factors typically evolve gradually rather than immediately following the artist’s passing.

Don't use

In their comments they said the work was amateurish and in so many words(by them) not worth anything.

Our valuations are based on verified market data, condition reports, and comparable sales available at the time of appraisal, taking into consideration any additional information provided about the artwork and the artist.

As no certification or provenance was submitted with your appraisal request, our appraiser concluded that the artwork did not appear to be an original work by Marion Sampler. The style and execution differed significantly from the artist’s known graphic and abstract works. Rather, it appeared to be an amateur portrait of Marion Sampler, likely created as a tribute. Unfortunately, such a piece would have very limited resale value.

Therefore, the valuation provided reflected the market value of a work by an unknown artist, not that of Marion Sampler.

Auction outcomes can vary widely depending on factors such as the auction house’s marketing strategy, presentation, the level of bidder interest, and even the context in which the artwork is listed. These factors can sometimes result in a higher hammer price, but this does not invalidate the accuracy of our initial assessment based on the information available at the time.

We stand by the professionalism and accuracy of our appraisal process and appreciate the opportunity to clarify this matter.

I am used to using Askart and you are not giving me the information I received from that subscription. Not enough sells data, signatures, etc. In fact I would rather go back to them at this time.
