⭐ 1-Star Review — My Medicare Expert

⚠️ WARNING TO VAs CONSIDERING APPLYING OR UNDERGOING TRAINING WITH MY MEDICARE EXPERT
I’m sharing this review based on my personal experience with My Medicare Expert, Jeff Haskin, and Anna Gutierrez. I hope this helps other VAs make an informed decision before investing their time in the application and training process.
When I initially started the training, I had a positive impression of both Jeff and Anna. They were encouraging and made the opportunity sound like it could potentially become a long-term position. However, based on what happened afterward, my advice is not to rely solely on verbal assurances or encouraging statements. Get everything in writing before committing your time.
I completed the training and put genuine effort into learning the role. I was then left waiting for my training payment, and despite following up, I did not receive a clear payment date or timely communication.
I understand that Anna (Jeff's VA for 6yrs) experienced a medical emergency, and I genuinely sympathize with her situation. However, as a trainee who had already invested time and completed the required training, I still expected clear communication regarding my payment and status.
The most upsetting part of my experience was Jeff (owner) response when I raised my concerns. Instead of professionally addressing my questions, he told me:
“I don’t give a rats ass what you think I should think or how fast me or Anna should respond to you.”
I found that response extremely disrespectful and unprofessional, particularly because I was simply asking about payment for training I had already completed.

There were also approximately 4–5 other VAs undergoing training alongside me. I will not speak on their behalf or claim that they had exactly the same experience, but I think prospective applicants should know that this was a group training process and not just an individual interaction.

🚨 WARNING TO OTHER VAs
• Please do your due diligence before committing your time.
• Before starting training, I strongly recommend getting clear written answers to:
•Is the training paid?
•How much will the training payment be?
•When exactly will payment be released?
•Who handles the payment?
•What happens if you complete training but are not selected for the position?
•What are the exact terms and expectations?
Your time and effort have value. You deserve clear communication, transparency, and professional treatment.

My biggest concern isn't simply the delay in payment. It's how my concerns were handled and the disrespectful response I received when I asked for clarification.
I am posting this review to share my own experience, not to speak for anyone else. I hope other VAs will take the time to ask questions, get compensation terms in writing, and carefully consider their experience before proceeding.
For me, this experience was disappointing, and based on what happened, I cannot recommend the company.
