Fees for everything

Fees for everything. Impossible to use this HSA to pay bills when the account balance is anywhere near the limit below which you pay fees because you can't add more money during the wrong tax year. Fees to close the account. No information on the website about how to close the account. No control over how to invest my money. My health care provider (also a garbage business to work with) automatically set me up with MyBenefitWallet, and while it took forever, I finally found a better alternative, and I'm gone as soon as I can get through their red tape.

HORRIBLE COMPANY WITH THE WORST…

HORRIBLE COMPANY WITH THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I've been trying to get my fsa debit card turned back on for well over a month now & I keep getting the run around so I can't purchase my son's seizure medication, which he is completely out of & he's having seizures daily so his medication is life/death important.
Every person I talk to gives me excuses. I paid a hospital bill from February 2021 that also had an office visit copay from October 2020 (I didn't realize it until after the fact) so I repaid My Benefit Wallet the copay amount of $50 & now they are refusing to reinstate my fsa debit card until I pay another $50, even though, I already repaid that amount. They are telling me I have to pay back $100 total, even though, it was only a $50 charge. I've spoke to 3 supervisors over the last month & every time, I get very poor excuses & guess what?! They can't EVER HELP!!
I'm filing a BBB complaint & filing a complaint with my employer. I shouldn't have to fight to get my son's prescriptions as well as his multiple hospital bills paid.

Horrible company, horrible customer service

This is a horrible company with a horrible system and horrible customer service. Seems like their mission is to make it as difficult as possible for you to receive money that belongs to you. I submitted multiple transactions TWICE only to discover they were deleted both times. The second time I had to call Member Services. Unfortunately the 800 number provided went to an automated system with no option to talk to a live person. Long story short I had to submit all of the transactions a THIRD time. Hopefully this time they process them and give me my money back. This is one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with. Wish my employer/insurance company used someone else.

Disregards contribution year, sends contributions back, lost my money

I used this employer sponsored HSA for 6 years. They sent contribution checks back to me, disregarded the contribution year notices, and most recently they lost over $25,000 in their system. They cannot pull my account up via account number, ssn, or address. The webpage let's me login but gives me an error. At this time, I do not have access to my funds.
I'm working with their "ops team" to get my money back. When I do get this fixed, I'm closing this account. BenefitWallet is by far the most technically and procedurally incompetent bank I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

If your employer uses this company, I suggest transferring your HSA funds elsewhere. IRS allows 2 HSAs.

Terrible HSA customer service

Ditto on the previous comments. I am trying to do a trustee to trustee transfer. It has been more than a month since they recieved my request. I was never given any indication that the request was received or processed. After 3 weeks I called and they told me the request was received and processed and the check was mailed on May 12th (Should take 7-10 business days). It is now June 4th (16 Business days) and they do not know where my check is but the new trustee has not received it. Guess what they want to open an other case (3-5 business days) then they say it will take another (7-10 business days). You cannot get anyone on the phone who can answer a question, all they can do is open another case. I do not believe the check was ever mailed. If they truly believed in customer service they would cut a new check and ovenight it to the new trustee. By the way it cost me $25 for all of this steller customer service. It is my hope that this review will make it to someone at BenefitWallet who cares about customer service and can address these issues, as I think their customer service is broken and I have been unable reach anyone who seems to care about it other than opening another case.

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!
This has been a terrible experience.
Attempting to set up my account after MONTHS of delays, and the protocol they instructed doesn't work, which requires a security code - (by the way they'll only give you the code AFTER you've set up an account). The only way to bypass this security code will now require more delays due to an approval process that requires a notarized document. Highly discourage the use of this company for individuals or employers.

Terrible experience!

I agree with other posts that the customer service is terrible. I had also never been charged a monthly fee for a health savings account before. When I tried to reimburse myself and close the account, it took 27 days for the money to reach my checking account. I also had to call their customer support about 5 times and kept being told "5-7 business days." Very unhappy!

Worst customer service and response ever!

Have been trying to get access to account for months. Customer service is not US based and difficult to understand. They are argumentative and uncooperative. They only accept documentation through snail mail and it must be notarized. Even when they get it, takes 21 days for processing. If there is a problem, they will NOT proactively contact you. After repeatedly calling, they then requested more paperwork. This has taken another 6 weeks! Meanwhile, I am paying for medical 100 percent out of pocket.
If I had a choice I would never use them again, however employer drives that choice.

Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever. Would avoid this company at all cost. Received a depit card in the mail connexted to my account. Never activated it as I didnt use it. Wallet got stolen and they were able to withdraw a couple thousand dollars without me activating the card! And make purchases. Have a police report and filed a claim with mybenefits. Its been 6 months and all they tell me is "we will contact financial ops, they are working on it". This is really sad because this is money used for medical expenses and now i cant use it when needed.

Customer service stinks

Customer service stinks! At prompt of website to call customer service for a security code to log in, I was told they would send code in MAIL! Not texted, emailed or verbally given. I have to wait a week to ten days to get code to log into account! Hate this company. No satisfaction from CS, no admin or supervisor to talk to. Sucks!

Bad service and fees!

I have had an HSA for several years through my employer using this company. I had to use google to find a phone number where I could actually talk to a human! The website says to use 855-800-1602 but there is no way to get a human there. With 877-472-4200 I got to a human which then transferred me to another human that answered in 20 minutes.
As so many other reviews have mentioned, getting access to your money is a challenge. Using the debit card or doing it electronically through the website is a hopeless case. It will take you a week to get money - if you're lucky! For people with HSA's - the ONLY good way to get money is to just write a check to yourself and depositing it in your bank account using their CHECKS - not the debit card or electronically. My bank deposited the money within a day and the check cleared according to my statement about 3 days later. Just as long as you spend the money that tax year for qualified medical expenses you will be fine. It can even be done for expenses that you know ill occur later in the year. In my case, I was retiring and I would have had to start paying monthly fees to use even the banking side and additional fees if I wanted to use the investment side.
At least in the second and later years, they did send me the correct IRS forms for amounts deposited and withdrawn.
Overall, I would suggest that you transfer money to an HSA with one of the big investment houses like Vanguard or Fidelity where you won't get whopped with so many fees and poor customer service.

Customer Service reps DIFFICULT to…

Customer Service reps DIFFICULT to understand! They talk way too much, instead of just helping! When you call in for help, you WILL ASSIST WITH THEIR AGENDA before they will assist with ANY issues! Call took TOO MUCH TIME! Horrible!!!

Benefit wallet fails ....

All of 2020 my claims were rejected due to not having a tax id on my claims. I entered the information exactly like I was supposed to. It never saved my information. The call in menu is incomplete. You have to hit lost debit card to speak to a person. I cancelled my payroll deductions to my hsa and weeks later small amounts started dribbling out. Once again the "redesigned website" can't give a valid reason as to why my claim was rejected again. They want a tax id on the receipt when we've never has to provide that on a receipt before.

Worst financial service I've ever dealt…

Worst financial service I've ever dealt with. Got a new HSA, wanted to roll over my remaining balance and close the account. Called them to do this, they said yes, no problem, we'll send you a check and close the account. Sent me the check, kept the account open, charged it their ridiculous $3.25/mo fee, which caused the check they issued to bounce, then charged me $25 for the bounced check. No, I'm not kidding. Decided it wasn't worth it to get my $25 back, did an electronic transfer of the remaining balance, but left $3.50 in the account. Yep, they took that, too, leaving me with $0.25. Oh, and it took 7 days to do an electronic transfer!! Unbelievable. Used their messaging system (as instructed) to then close the account. Nope, they now need verbal confirmation. Called them, gave them my info, please close the account. They then say they can't!!! I tell them in no uncertain terms to "close the XXXX account RIGHT NOW!" and miraculously, they do so. Avoid at all costs.

This service is terrible

This service is terrible!

They make it very difficult to file claims and IF you get a claim filed they deny almost everything.

If your company is using this service you should opt out of the program it is not a value.

Horrible Customer Service

Requested a check in the full amount of my HSA. Then I closed my account with them over the phone. (But I never got any confirmation of that.) Received check, cashed check, and then the check became NSF because of an "admin fee" that incurred. So now I have to pay the admin fee PLUS the NSF fee of $25.00. Horrible company to deal with.

Horrible company!!

Horrible company!!! Their services must be dirt cheap because my company keeps using them to manage our spending accounts. They constantly deny claims, and with every deny there is a new excuse. The website is horrible as well and not intuitive, and I’ve been in IT for 20+ years.

Unethically Run. Poor Customer Service

I am a customer of theirs. I am supposed to receive a reimbursement payment of $1,350. I made the request on January 5th. It was processed on January 8th. It has been "processing" since that time. I have called three times about it, messaged them twice and emailed them once. They have not replied to any written inquiries. Each time I speak with someone, they tell me it's because of the Holidays (Christmas and New Years have come and gone BEFORE January 8th), or they say, "It should be there later today", which of course hasn't happened. All I want is my money reimbursed. I feel as if they are keeping it from me on purpose so they don't have to part with it.
