They only want to take the money from you by appliyiing fees

I request a check to close my account and the check bounce back. They send me the check and then charge a montly maintenace fee so the ammount in the check was incompleted (because of the maintenance fee). I got a charge fee at my bank because of the bad check, and on top Benefitwallet charged me 25 dollar fee.
Benefitwallet is an unprofessional business that only wants to make easy money in fees. I am very disapointment. Please avoid this company.

I would give zero stars if possible

I would give zero stars if possible. I filed a claim for my dependent care account weeks ago and have had repeated denials despite the exact documentation requested being included in my claim. Hands down the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I get transferred around and it is clear no one cares that your money is being held hostage. I have never been more frustrated or disappointed in my experience with a company. I still have not been reimbursed and am close to hiring legal representation at this point.

2019 IRS Tax Extension Misapplied

2019 IRS Tax Extension Misapplied.

Benefit Wallet has incorrectly applied the 1040 filing extension rules allowed by the IRS due to COVID-19 and has applied an HSA contribution to my 2020 limit instead of my 2019 limit. This is a total screw up by Benefit Wallet and they are unresponsive to correct the problem. I wonder how many other people that they have messed up on.

I have been on the phone for an hour…

I have been on the phone for an hour and a half and still have not received a simple answer regarding why I have a balance when I call the number on the card but when I swipe the SAME CARD it is declined. I’ve beeen transferred 5 times and still do not have a resolution. I’m currently still on hold and it’s getting unbearable at this point. This is absolutely asinine.

Horribly Web Experience & Weak Service

Horribly Weak web experience, and customer service that wants to hide (No 800# answering options tell you how to get to general customer service, until you hit zero five times).

When I had to reset my password, it was one of the worst user experiences ever, with both the web site, and finally talking to customer service.

My company, where I am CEO, is leaving.

Find a Different Company

Dont use. They do not protect against fraud charges. I had $1500 taken from my account illegally from my HSA debit card. I called them to try to launch an investigation to get my money back - they just said we can't help with that. Meaning someone can literally hack into your card and take tens of thousands of your medical money and there is not a thing that they will do for you.

DO NOT put any of your money in a benefitwallet account. they have motivation to keep your money, the more money they keep, the more money they make. they deny EVERY claim. its exhausting for working parents.

BenefitWallet isn't much of a benefit

BenefitWallet isn't much of a benefit. I get better and more cost effective service from my new HSA account vendor. BenefitWallet's services are slow including their ability to transfer money. In this day and age when I transfer money to a new account it takes me a day. BenefitWallet apparently needs an entire month. I think they are still working with chisels and stone slabs to move money around.

Never in my life have I had such a terrible experience. The phone line never has a good connection when you call, so good luck even talking to them. They are so disorganized.. losing documents and saying different things each time you call. I am amazed that this company is even in business.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE FINANCIAL INDUSTRY

I have been a customer of Benefit Wallet for about four years and they have had consistently terrible service. The people who answer the phones never know the answer to basic questions, the contact us telephone number is a maze of numbers that don't work, the website is maze of links that don't answer questions and the monthly charge to investments is a high cost. Not to mention, it is IMPOSSIBLE to find out why claims were denied unless you are willing to spend countless hours on the phone with multiple people who tell you different answers.

Customer service is in the Philippines!!!!

My husband passed away and I wanted to put his account in my name. I called the customer service number I got the Philippines!!!!!!! The first time I called, I could not understand the person AT ALL, the second time I called was not much better. I emailed them and their response was to call CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! The third time I called I understood her better and things moved forward. I filled out the paperwork and mailed it to the address ON THE FORM....IT WAS THE WRONG ADDRESS!!! so my husbands death certificate is floating around somewhere and I have to send them another one. I can find no recourse (agent or anyone in the U.S.) to solve my problem so I will go to the Better Business Bureau and complain there also.

I had the same experience that lot of people mentioned here. They didn’t send me any information and was deducting fees from my HSA account without informing me. I had to search them out through one of the IRS form that they send me. Horrible Horrible Horrible..... the worst customer service. They don’t help you at all. They are there to take your money. Horrible company.. Went back and forth of refunding the fees that they deducted from my HSA account without informing me.. Nothing.. Nada.. Horrible..

Don't use BenefitWallet!

We use BenefitWallet through Justworks. Easily the worst customer service I have used in a long time. They make it impossible to file a claim to use your FSA. I have spent 2 hours on the phone with their incompetent customer service team who doesn't have ability to transfer me to the claims department, but also is unable to answer any question I have about denied claims.

Not a good experience.

Hard to use app. BW takes money out of account and holds it for at least a week before making payments, or recognizing deposits. Sometimes they take longer. Have to call in on the phone to resolve issues, and it takes way too long to complete a task over the phone. I have to use them because my employer health care provider uses them. If I had a choice I would take my business elsewhere.

ZERO STARS

My previous employer used the HORRIBLE COMPANY. I never used any of my HSA benefits. I recently got a IRS Tax Doc for 2019 stating the company is claiming income for HSA benefits from 3 years ago but documented as 2019, (my employer switched companies with first 6 month of employment).

NEVER got any email or NOTICES from this company. THE IRS Tax doc was forwarded from my previous address. NOTHINGS ELSE. FEES had been assessed, I HAD NO NOTIFICATION ABOUT.

I call the benefit office, they request 7 different identifiers from me before answering any questions, including the debit card number for the HSA card. I advise I did not have the card, never used acct and they proceed to tell me that can not assist me because I can't provide the info. Mind you I had already provided my SSN, DOB, ADDRESS, PH, EMAIL, NAME, ETC. that's enough information to confirm you are speaking with the correct person.

Proceeded to speak with management and she informs me she will mail me a code and I will have to call back to give them the code to change my address on file and to get acct in. I advised her I wanted to open a complaint, regarding the process. The manager calls me the next day and advise me they can verify me with all the info I previously provided the previous day.

I advise her I wanted to withdraw all funds from acct and close it immediately.
The manager walks me through setting up online access and processing ELECTRONIC transfer from bank to bank of fund. Process was completed.

7 DAYS later no funds deposited. I login to the acct, transaction NOT deleted. Mind you it was confirmed completed. I proceed to complete it again, stated completed. This was in APR 2020, recently realized the funds was never deposited again.

Called company again, they tell me I have to confirm the transaction with a live agent within 24 hours. Which was NEVER told to me. Why do I need to confirm something I did online and with a manager.

Recently completed another request. I had to advise a LAWSUIT will be next steps. It should not take that type of action for the company to conduct proper business.

The companies POLICIES AND PROCEDURS needs to be revised.

Now I have to wait until the fund deposit again before I can CLOSE the account FOREVER.

ZERO stars if I could

These guys are a joke! I NEVER write bad reviews for anybody because I think it's pitiful but these guys deserve it! Cant log into my web account because I need to call for my "security code" and they don't even answer. And when I finally do. I try to withdraw all my money because I want nothing to do with them but weeks go by and they NEVER give me my HSA money. This has happened 3 times! That's only half of my terrible experiences with them. Still trying to get my money out 6 months later...SOOOOOO TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!

My former company used BenefitWallet…

My former company used BenefitWallet HSA. They were never very good, lectronic redemptions which take a day anywhere else take a week with BenefitWallet. Now that I no longer work for them I am learning how bad they are. First their investment section is run by another comany that has started charging a fee each month, The charges do not show up on your BenefitWallet statement. I decided to move my HSA to an HSA my brokerage has. In doing so I needed to sell my investments. i put in the sell request about 3pm, before market close. They did not perform the transaction, evidently any request after 2:00pm is not processed that day although the site does not indicate that. In addtion once it is processed I understand it takes 3-5 business days for the funds to show up as cash my BenefitWallet account. Good Riddence.

Horrible to deal with locked my account during the pandemic,can’t straighten issue my dentist has been closed in over a month , I’ll never do the before tax option again ,rather pay double than deal with nasty emails .
