Well as a seller overall I am happy

Well as a seller overall I am happy. My bike sold within 24hours of being listed, the courier collected within agreed time and was delivered within agreed time.

The only thing you need to be aware of are the delays on monies being received, which I do agree with other comments here that this delay does
Seem oddly long.. BUT, as I’d seen these comments, I knew this would be the case.

Overall the company do need to improve their auto comms abit more throughout the process, as will help to keep us informed of what’s going on - but ultimately, my bike sold and I received the money 👌

Hi MT,

Thanks for taking the time to leave such a fair and balanced review. I’m really pleased to hear the sale itself went smoothly and that everything was collected and delivered as agreed.

You’re absolutely right about communication, and that’s a point we’re actively working on. Improving automated updates and keeping sellers better informed throughout the process is a key focus for us, especially around payments.

I appreciate your patience and understanding, and I’m glad everything was completed successfully in the end. Thanks again for using the platform and for the constructive feedback.

THIS IS UPATING MY EARLIER PREVIOUS…
THIS IS UPATING MY EARLIER PREVIOUS REVIEW 30/12/25

I initially left a rather scathing review for this organization, which Matt, a Director and presumably a shareholding one, asked me to review based upon information he supplied to me. Broadly, I complained about the time it took to make payment. Loooking at the reviews currently availble, there are a mixed bag, but there is a theme running through which refer to delays in payment. It is very clear, Matt doesn’t want to delay payments, based upon the evidence produced. He showed me the third party predicament , the money handling company causing a two fold unnecessary layers of complications, which do cause delays, which are not acceptable. Given this, Matt, his own risk, has put in place a different system, albeit still an outsourced provider, designed to operate smoothly. It does however take a little time to work through the systems but will produce a better outcome. Consequently, if you are in desperate need for the cash, yes look at an alternative method of selling you bike. I do however feel this system, once running smoothly will prove to be good. I have recommended to Matt he employs the use of independent business adviser to ensure this is and will remain an hiccup to the embryonic stages of the business and would recommend to him, if the payment deadlines are not met, his company adds some extra compensation for the delays, such as 50% of the commission they retain for providing what is a very useful service. On a personal note, I purchased my bike in Spain, having now upgraded, I took the original bike to the sales outlet I originally bought it from, I listened to their offer, then decided to bring it back to the UK and sold it via ‘sell my bike’ for virtually 3 times that offered from

The platform and idea behind it is very good, However operationally you are met with Harry or is Tom or RICHARDin particular. One is unable to communicate directly with these guy’s only via a text portal, which leaves interactive communication protracted and the user consequently weary, presumably they are working on the basis it will leave the enquirer sufficiently drained to be bothered to continue to interact this way. They receive payment from the purchaser and hold it for ten days then once time is elapsed, supposedly release your cash entitlement minus their commission. NOT THE CASE WITH ME or others from reading these reviews. Delay then further delay, blaming it on systems. If you have the cash transfer it, how difficult is this a manual override, it is not. A promise of a no commission sale if not paid by the third due date, they paid it then! What is their address where they operate the business from not an accounts holding address, to my mind the whole thing probably worked well at first with good margins through sufficient sales, lifestyle adjusted accordingly and then sales fall, lifestyle remains the same so a gap appears in completing transactions. If I’m correct, eventually some consumers will be burned! I’m sure Tom RICHARD or Harry (RICHARD the abbreviation being the most appropriately named)will formulate some excuse in response to this, so in advance, I WILL NEVER USE YOU AGAIN AND ADVISE OTHERS TO STEER WELL CLEAR and they wont need a sat nav to avoid you if they take heed of this warning.

Hi Paul,

I’m genuinely sorry for the frustration and stress this experience has caused you. That’s clearly not the experience we want anyone to have, and I appreciate you taking the time to explain how it felt from your side.

I understand how delays around payments and limited communication channels can feel draining and unacceptable, especially when expectations have already been set. When things don’t move as clearly or as smoothly as they should, it understandably damages trust, and I’m sorry that happened here.

We do operate a structured payment and buyer protection process, and while that is designed to protect all parties, it’s clear that in your case the communication around timing and progress did not land well. That’s on us, and we are continuing to improve how clearly and proactively this is explained and handled.

I regret that this experience led you to feel the way you do about our business. Your feedback has been read carefully and taken seriously.

Sellers positive experience

I sold my bike on this website and they did exactly as they said they would. I read the reviews here after it had been sold and my heart sank. I thought I had made a mistake, I shared my concerns with Harry and Matt immediately called me to reassure. I received payment as agreed after the required checks. They made my Christmas. Have faith because they do deliver what they say.

Seller experience very poor

Seller experience very poor - criminal.

I sold a bike using this service and it was duly collected in good time. Up to that point, zero faults.

Payment however was a terrible experience. Excuses after excuses - all rubbish. They apologise, make promises and generally keep you hanging on blaming the banks. This was for over two months in my case. Then when they did pay it was not the full amount.

Again, admitted error, promised to rectify the now small amount, never materialised.

If you read through comments and replies here you find that this is a theme.

When a Buyer pays, the funds should go immediately to the Seller minus MyNextBikes commission but I suspect they use the money elsewhere first and pay only when they can eventually afford to.

Obviously, I do not recommend using this service since it is clear something dodgy is going on.

Hi Stuart,

I’m really sorry for the frustration this caused you. I can completely understand how a delayed or incorrect payment would feel unacceptable, and I appreciate you laying out your experience.

I do want to be clear on one point though: there is nothing dodgy going on. We’re a small team, not a large corporate operation, and while that sometimes means things don’t move as quickly as anyone would like, every seller does get paid in full. Funds are never withheld for other purposes.

In your case, the delay and the follow-up shortfall should have been resolved more cleanly and with clearer communication, and I’m genuinely sorry that didn’t happen. That’s not the standard we aim for, and it’s something we continue to work hard to improve as we scale.

I regret that this experience has left you with such a negative impression, and I do apologise for the stress it caused.

Is the bike still available

Having decided on a bike, submitted an offer. Within maybe a day, offer was accepted. Paid straight away. After not hearing anything about collection details for nearly three days, decided to contact mynextbike. Apparently seller had not provided collection details which mynextbike were only now, after three days, about to chase up. Soon after, I got an email saying refund issued as they didn't have the stock, i e bike already sold. Week and a half before Christmas on a 5-7 day refund to clear now means, I can't buy my wife's Christmas present in time for her to get the bike on Christmas day.
I'm baffled as to why they accepted an offer on a bike advertised on their site without knowing whether it was still available. This is unacceptable for me. Moral story, don't make any payments without first, confirming item is actually still available. Completely effd up our christmas

Hi Martin,

I’m really sorry about this. I completely understand why this was so upsetting, especially given the timing so close to Christmas, and I’m genuinely sorry that it affected your plans for your wife’s present.

What happened here was that the seller accepted the offer but then failed to provide collection details in time, and it later became clear the bike was no longer available. That shouldn’t have taken as long as it did to surface, and we should have stepped in and chased it sooner. That delay is on us.

When this happens, we cancel the order and issue a full refund straight away, but I fully appreciate that a 5–7 working day refund window at that time of year doesn’t help when you’re trying to sort a Christmas gift. I’m sorry we couldn’t prevent that situation for you.

Your feedback is fair, and it highlights exactly why we continue to tighten how quickly listings are paused and sellers are chased once payment is made. I regret that your experience fell short, and I’m sorry for the disappointment it caused.

Great concept, Unfortunately sale fell through & refund took a month to be processed

Unfortunately, I was told that the seller from whom I had paid for the bike from failed to arrange collection and stopped responding to messages. I initially received good customer service by the phone & agreement I would be sent a refund. Unfortunately there were delays with the refund being processed, and it became difficult to get a response when trying to find out what was happening. However, I eventually got a reply to say that they were having difficulties with their payment system, which they were investigating, and a month after the refund was agreed to be processed, it has arrived.
I think that My Next Bike is a fantastic idea, and I hope that they can iron out their issues with payment, and gain a bit more consistency in responding to issues in a timely way. It could definitely be a very welcomed service to connect buyers and sellers across the UK with insured shipping and 48hours buyer protection.

Waiting for refund over a month

Writing this review hoping that it might speed up the process of getting my refund since I have now been waiting for more than a month.
Never have I had to wait for so long.
The operator I've been talking to seems alright but I have been exchanging emails with him waiting for the refund to happen and only a few days ago he says he's passing the case over to a director ?! It's been over a month and we're doing this only now?!
My bank asked me for the ARN which is a number that is generated with the online purchase and that is necessary to track the refund, and it's taking days even to get that and with the help of a "director".
They blamed it on the new payment system but I can see reading other reviews that this issue has been happening for a while so this is not an excuse.
I am beyond frustrated and have already contacted Citizen Advisor and will be moving forward with what they have suggested.

Hi Simone,

I’m really sorry for how long this took and for the frustration it caused.

To explain what happened clearly: the payment was made using a newer bank-based checkout method. We processed the refund through Shopify as normal, but it didn’t complete correctly on the provider side. We then had to pause to avoid refunding you twice while this was investigated and confirmed, which unfortunately caused delays.

Once it was clear the automated route wasn’t going to resolve cleanly, we completed the refund manually by bank transfer to make sure you were paid safely and in full.

I completely understand why the lack of progress and updates over that period was unacceptable, and I’m sorry it took longer than it should have to reach a resolution. This wasn’t handled as well as it should have been, and your feedback is fair.

Now that the refund has been completed, I hope this at least brings things to a close. If you’re willing, we’d really appreciate you updating the review to reflect that it has now been resolved, but I do understand how frustrating the experience was at the time.

Still waiting on refund d

I brought a bike on this site, after 5 days back and forth with the seller all of a sudden he canceled. So then I'm waiting on my refund it's been 7 days now and nothing. Customer service is appalling not returning my emails or text. I'm going to start legal proceedings against this company. Dont go anywhere near them.

Hi there,

Sorry to see this and for the frustration caused.

If the order was cancelled before dispatch, the refund is processed automatically and normally takes 5–7 working days from the cancellation date to show back in the original payment method.

As it’s now been around that timeframe, I can see it should have been back in your account, so this will be raised to the person handling refunds. They also handle payments and are very busy, but this will be escalated.

We absolutely appreciate this is stressful and apologise that you’ve had to chase. If you’d like to confirm the email address used for the order, the refunds team can make sure there are no issues holding this up.

Sold my bike quickly the support team went above and beyond

I decided to sell my gravel bike and wasn’t expecting much interest, but within a few days I had multiple offers. One buyer asked for extra photos and the system made it easy to upload everything directly. When it came to collection, there was a slight delay with the courier, but the customer support team kept me informed and chased it up straight away. The bike was picked up the next morning, and payment was processed shortly after the delivery was completed. Really professional service and a huge step up from trying to sell on Facebook groups.

I sold my bike and the buyer accepted…

I sold my bike and the buyer accepted the offer, but after that everything went wrong. MyNextBike said a refund was processed, but the money never arrived. I contacted them multiple times and was told a step had been missed in the refund process. When they tried again, they still failed to refund me on time and after all the follow-ups, I’m still waiting for my money. Really poor service and no proper resolution.

Hi Jack,

Thanks for raising this.

To make sure this is handled correctly, we just need a bit more information. Can you please confirm whether you’re waiting on a seller payment for a completed sale, or a refund back to your original payment method?

If it’s a refund, please also confirm the email address used for the order and when you were last told it had been processed. If it’s a seller payment, let us know whether the bike was delivered and whether any issues were raised by the buyer.

Once we have that, we can make sure this is picked up in the right place.

Painful process with no resolution to date

Offer submitted on a bike on 30/10/25 and the offer was accepted by seller the same day. The order was confirmed by Mynextbike on 31/10/25. Seller failed to respond to multiple follow up messages. Mynextbike attempted to contact the seller and were unable to. I was given the store credit or refund options by Mynextbike and I asked for the refund to be processed. I had an email saying the order was cancelled and that the refund had ben processed on 21/11/25, and that I should expect the refund to arrive in my account in 5-7 working days. The refund did not arrive in my account. I sent multiple follow up emails and then was told that "a step was missed in the refund process". A second attempt at processing the refund was made on 5/12/25 and I was assured that the refund would be in my account in 48 hours. I'm still waiting for the refund! Not pleased with the process or the service, and will not readily be using this site again.

Edited on 11/12 as the refund was received and some of the issues are not directly the fault of mynextbike.
