If you want a reliable and honest provider steer clear of this one.
After untold, at least 100 service failures in a year, rude staff at every level and login failures I decided to close my account. They refused to give me my Domain transfer number details so unable to continue website with another provider.

Unacceptable Security Breaches and Poor Support: My Experience with MyTrueHost

My experience with MyTrueHost has been completely unsatisfactory and alarming. From the beginning, I encountered serious security breaches and support that was not only ineffective but also evasive and unprofessional. Here’s what happened:

Unauthorized access to my account and security breach:
Since I contracted MyTrueHost’s services, my website has been compromised three times. In the latest incident, I received an email from cPanel notifying me that my contact email had been changed. Additionally, the FTP, email, MySQL, system, and web disk passwords were altered without my consent. This type of unauthorized access is completely abnormal and goes against any security protocol of a professional hosting provider.

Creation of accounts and unauthorized modifications:
When I logged into my account, I found that 4 new email accounts had been created and 3 files had been added to my site’s plugins. It is particularly alarming that, upon reviewing the access logs, the changes came from an IP in India, suggesting a possible security breach in MyTrueHost’s server. This is not something that should happen in a secure hosting environment, where there should be measures in place to prevent unauthorized access.

Alteration of the robots.txt file:
In addition to the previous issues, I also discovered that my robots.txt file had been tampered with. This file is key for managing my site’s indexing on search engines, and any unauthorized changes could severely impact my site’s visibility. Modifying this file without the owner’s consent is a direct violation of trust and security.

Evasive response from support and misinformation:
When I contacted MyTrueHost support, they told me that the notification emails about changes were "normal" and that the system had "restarted." Not only did they ignore my concerns, but they also assured me that I shouldn’t worry about the creation of new accounts and files in the system. When I insisted that this was abnormal, they told me that all customers received the same type of emails, which is completely false and shows a lack of commitment to their clients' security.

Use of VPN by the provider and lack of transparency:
One particularly disturbing detail was that the support team informed me they use VPNs to make changes in the system. This claim is extremely concerning, as a hosting provider should be transparent and offer secure, controlled access, not use tools that mask the real location of those making the changes. This raises further doubts about the security of their infrastructure and the handling of client accounts.

Poor support and limited hours:
Although MyTrueHost advertises 24/7 customer service, support is only available from midnight to noon in my time zone (Costa Rica). This schedule is completely insufficient for a global hosting service. Furthermore, when I communicated that I planned to switch providers, their response was indifferent and dismissive: “Do it, we won’t entertain you.”

Why this is not normal:
These are completely abnormal practices in the hosting industry. A reliable hosting provider should:

Ensure the security and privacy of customer accounts.
Have strict access control mechanisms and provide clear, timely notifications of any changes to configurations.
Not tamper with critical files like robots.txt without the owner’s consent.
Not hide their real location behind VPNs, as this is a sign of a lack of transparency.
Offer adequate support at accessible hours for their clients.
Conclusion:
MyTrueHost not only failed to protect my website but also demonstrated a level of misinformation, indifference, and alarming unprofessionalism. If you are looking for a hosting provider that values security, transparency, and customer support, I recommend looking for other options. My experience with them was one of the worst I’ve had in terms of security and customer service.

Awful service

There was a technical issue with the hosting, specifically a lack of function in softaculous and not working as it should, so I contacted support so they can fix it, then they sent me a mail saying that they fixed it, but its not, they only fixed the first of many other things they had to fix to make it work, then I contacted support because they said they have a '30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE' (which is totally fake because they refused) and very rudely told me that the issue was fixed (which was not true) and that they wont assist me further, ill strongly recommend not to use this service, you can get a lot better service for just 2 more dollars a year in many other companies, this service is just awful.

WORST HOSTING AROUND

WORST HOSTING AROUND! For the past year, they keep on making every single excuse possible. Sending out less than 10 emails a day and these incompents get the SMTP server banned. You cant even send emails to yourself. They claim to have fixed the problem, 2 days later the same thing. This company is run by a bunch of clowns. Do yourself a favor, steer clear away from this con jobs! This problem has been happening every single time and their word is useless. Now their online chat doesnt even work. MyTrueHost were losers belong!
