Nahimic broke windows update , decreased performance and sound quality

literally took me a week so figure out why my windows update wasnt working so after countless hours and days of doing trouble shooting i figured out it was a nahimic driver that windows update couldnt process or something. i dont even want nahimic or A-volute and they keep coming back its literally malware. It also hogs system resources and its very annoying. I wont be suprised if it will break something again and make windows update not work also the sound quality is bad

Good app but has some flaws.

Nahimic's audio features are for the most part pretty good. However, i don't know if its the app of my MSI computer, but when i watch a video or listen to music, i regularly get these annoying audio skips that ruin my music listening experience. Considering that I like to listen to music quite loud, these skips can be quite deafining.

I have Nahimic audio soft

I have Nahimic audio soft. working quite well on my laptop! Adjusting the sound is quite convenient and you can also switch it to automatic, although for listening to music through an external amplifier it is better to switch to "music". I have quite good hearing of sound frequencies and if I turn off Nahimic from the menu the sound is significantly worse from any output! The sound quality depends primarily on the quality of the computer's sound electronics and the sound output in Windows must always be adjusted to 24bit and 192khz! I do not consider the laptop speakers, because they are simply intended for speech and minimal sound needs and headphones must also be of better quality for listening to music! Over the years, Nahimic has never caused any problems with the operation of my computer and it is not some kind of bloatware or spam bot! Many computers have sound built into the nahimic soft. base and newer ones have Nahimic caps. Nichicon caps are more or less the sound of the computer. I have liked the Elna caps sound(music) with the regular Realtek software the most!

This app is incredibly annoying

This app is incredibly annoying. I have an MSI laptop and I frequently get a pop up asking me to reboot. Only issue is that the yes button is on the wrong side so I very often accidentally reboot. I'm so frustrated that I looked for a way to give them a crappy review. So here I am. Next step is to uninstall this trash app.

App is flaky, does not improve sound much

App is flaky, and on my MSI Modern notebook its very questionable if it really improves these tiny speaker's audio quality. Another equalizing gimmick to try and compensate for crappy quality speakers. Seems to me these laptop makers could just use better speakers and forgo the equalizer apps and drivers. I typically use headphones anyway given that most notebooks have awful speakers.

Duck this piece of grit software

Duck this piece of grit software. So persistently buggy. It comes installed by default with the system and starts up for no reason at all at boot. Slows down CPU and interferes with other processes to the extent that it causes severe system lag and even WiFi connectivity issues.

Questionable usefullness with unethical deployment practices.

A-Volute's "Nahimic" software attempts to create perceived audio "enhancements" through the use of aural techniques such as frequency equalization and phase adjustment between channels. Generally speaking, when applied successfully, such techniques can alter sound in a way that may seem more pleasant to an end user, but may stray from the intentions or desires of audio creators'. As such, whether such adjustments could be considered "enhancements" is a subjective matter. In objective terms, they are, at best, alterations.

That is all fine and good as, maybe you like what comes out, maybe you don't. This issue with this software is that it has been pushed out as a driver level requirement through various computer hardware vendors in an attempt to mask shortcomings in the audio components of their respective hardware solutions. As a driver level requirement, this software is integrated into the Windows Update framework and is silently installed, regardless of user desire for it. It is in no way actually required for the proper functioning of the devices in question, and in some configurations actively harms user experience.

The obvious solution for users is to simply remove the software, however, A-Volute has ensured that this is impossible without significant advanced knowledge of the Windows operating system. Successful removal requires a user to create a group policy preventing re-installation, manual unregistering of the associated service, and the manual deletion of files. These are steps that go way beyond the knowledge that should be expected of a typical user, and without completing them, components of the software will continue to operate, hidden in the background. Of particular concern is that the remaining components will communicate with the company over the user's internet connection. While I haven't completed an analysis of what kinds of information these components exchange without the users knowledge, this is an unacceptable and borderline malicious practice.

This software acts in ways that only a few years ago, would squarely categorize it as malware, and does so with the active participation of hardware vendors and Microsoft. The only reason it is not considered malware is because these practices have, unfortunately, become commonplace among mainstream software vendors.

This is a virus

This is a virus. No matter how many times I try to remove it, it just keeps getting back. It seems there is now way to get rid of it. Nahimic is utter trash and a highjack tool.

PS: Most of their reviews are fake/paid, just look on their Facebook page, you can see clearly.

I'm a forza horzion player and used to have a few errors (crashing, lagging...) with nahimic while playing the game. But now, they fixed these problems. So if anyone have the same issues like me, just update the app to the latest version and the game can run smoothly as ever.

As an user, I have the same thought... This app is not bad at all. Basically, some issues happen because most of us dont know how to install it correctly.
I used to thought my audio was broke because of this app. But after asking for support, I tried to install step by step as their instruction and my audio works again, then can have great audio experience.

Previously

Previously, I also encountered distorted sound issue like some users. After contacting Nahimic customer support, they came up with solutions to help me fix the issue.
Basically this issue happens due to out-of-date audio driver, just try to update into the latest audio driver then problem could be solved.

Uninstall Nahimic now

Uninstall Nahimic now, if you can.
I don't know who writes these reviews but looks to me like a lot of bots and sock puppets. My experience with Nahimic is that it caused way more problems for almost no perceptible difference in sound. For example, Nahimic sounded choppy and distorted, and prevented my main headset from working with Windows 10. I had to use the crappy built in speaker and microphone on my laptop to use any audio app (e.g. Discord, Spotify), while other apps, e.g. Netflix, couldn't even run because the audio codec kept crashing. Also, web apps like youtube would just sit there with a spinning circle because they can't access the audio codec. Who did the QA for this crappy app?
