Absolutely appalling company.. LIE about STOCK availabiiity

Absolutely appalling company... let me explain.
Ordered a rug which they clearly stated was IN STOCK.
I received an email stating it was out of stock according to their supplier and would I like to wait till the middle of February...... Why on earth are you stating items are in stock on your website when clearly they are NOT. If you cannot even keep your website updated, then you do not deserve ANY business.
Secondly, the refund took almost 10 days... YES 10 days, so not only was the item not in stock, they held my money for ten days and I had to contact them again to chase the refund.
Dreadful company that suggests a glitchy website, but underneath the mechanism is a total mess.
Avoid Naken.co.uk and save yourself the hassle of chasing your refund.

I am sorry to hear your experience has not been what we as a company would expect. From looking into this I can see that unfortunately at the time of ordering you were given estimated delivery dates towards the end of January for a product which was displayed as "Available to order", not "In stock" - meaning the product ordered was not physically stocked in our UK warehouse.

Unfortunately the supplier advised us only after placing your order that the incoming stock was expected later due to an unforeseen manufacturing delay. We immediately contacted you the very same day (only the next day after you placed your order), to make you aware of this short delay of about 2 weeks.

As you were unhappy with the delay and asked to cancel the order (the day after we contacted you regarding the delay), your cancellation was processed through our accounts team as a priority and the funds were back in your account within 5 working days.

Please kindly note, given the many stages a refund has to go through to complete, we do advise up to 14 working days for a refund to be fully processed, however this is not usually the case and are all completed in date order so there is no need to ever chase a refund through us, especially considering yours was fully processed within 5 working days.

As a little more information for you, items are displayed as different status' based on the whereabouts of the stock and the estimated lead time of the supplier & estimated time to clear customs:

- "In Stock" = These are items physically in stock in our UK warehouse and can be dispatched on a next working day delivery (size restrictions apply)

- "Available" = These items are in stock in our suppliers warehouse (either in the UK or internationally) and are available to order from them with a standard estimated lead time - This is based on thousands of previous orders and how long they usually take to get from the processing stage, to delivery to our warehouse

- "Pre-order" = This is not in stock in our warehouse, nor our suppliers warehouse & the dates provided are when the stock is estimated to be back in stock with our supplier (and will still take the usual timeframe to get to us through delivery and customs). Pre-order dates from most of our suppliers are updated once a week (occasionally multiple times a week - dependant on brand), this way when you place your order dates are given with the most up-to-date information we are provided at the time

I can confirm that we do have multiple payment methods available (not only PayPal): Debit Card, Credit Card, American Express, PayPal, Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay.

We do use a PayPal payment gateway via the express checkout method, however you are still free to pay via different methods or checkout as a guest without logging-in to your PayPal account.

Exceptional Service and Beautiful Décor from Naken Interiors

I’ve been a loyal customer of Naken Interiors for a few years now, and my latest purchase has only reaffirmed why I keep coming back. A few years ago, I bought a Parlane faux yucca tree from them, and I’ve absolutely loved it—it’s become a statement piece in my home. This time, I picked up a stunning faux Echeveria from Parlane, and I couldn't be more pleased. Customer service is great

Small UK company sadly out of their depth

Ordered two items in September from these guys. Order showed up some 5 weeks later and 2 weeks later than their latest estimated delivery. Of the two items, one is incorrect - they are now refusing to send me the correct product or issue a refund until I return the incorrect item at my own time and expense. I will of course return the item but don’t hold me to ransom - so small minded and such a shame a small UK company showing themselves to be so out of their depth. In a time of savage competition, presume they’ll go out of business if this continues

From looking into this I can see that unfortunately on this occasion a human error lead to a mis-pick when packing your order - it seems the same product of a slightly different colour was mistakenly sent to you, and your item was mistakenly sent to the customer expecting the colour you received.

This error was likely caused as our suppliers delivery arrived only minutes before our courier collection and our warehouse rushed to get the priority goods dispatched the same day for you.

Please be assured on the very rare occurrence this might accidentally happen (which is completely unavoidable), it is noticed very quickly and resolved as smoothly as possible for both customers to avoid any further inconvenience. It is both costly and as frustrating for us as it is for you.

As you can understand, we are unable to dispatch the correct item to you until it arrives back with us, and we are unable to dispatch the other customers goods to them until you send them back to us using the pre-paid labels provided to each of you - No items are held to ransom, we simply had no stock here available to send to you, and re-ordering them from our supplier would have taken another 2-3 weeks.

Please know that we have every measure in place to prevent this from happening, but cannot entirely terminate its very rare occurrence due to the human element of pick/packing. I can only apologise for the situation and reassure you that the resolution has been actioned as quickly as possible for you.

Good management, great products, customer service needs some improvement

I have ordered package and ApplePay changed my address at the checkout. I thought it’s a company error. So I put complaint, they thought I inputted it incorrectly which wasn’t the case.

But there was also other issue - the courier abandoned the package in the communal hall serving flats and businesses, which wasn’t the right thing to do. The package was stolen. After obtaining letter from courier post review posted here Naken management looked into it and the refund was issued post investigation as a claim from courier. Response left is from customer service who I still think have room for improvement, that’s why 1 star taken off. The company has great products and management is very good.

I am sorry to hear your experience has not been what we as a company would expect. From looking into this I can see that unfortunately at the time of placing your order, you input the incorrect delivery address miles away from the intended address.

This meaning when the parcel was signed-for at the correct GPS co-ordinates of an office address you provided in checkout, it meant we were unable to claim for the goods from the courier as stolen. Although we do sympathise with the situation you had mistakenly caused, I'm afraid that regrettably there was little we were able to do in regards to compensation/refunding the order.

Narrow returns policy

The service overall was good, but the big let down is the companies narrow 14 day return window. This is an almost impossible task with wallpaper, especially when you want to order with lots of time to spare and your relying on decorators to complete quickly. For me issues with the electrics meant the wallpapering could not happen as planned. Most builders merchants and other decorating companies have a much more flexible returns policy. Even the offer of a credit note to shop with them in the future if a full refund could not be given would have kept me as a customer as I had planned on using Naken for the rest of the house but am now going to shop elsewhere.

As I said the service was good but the narrow returns policy is a big let down. Naken, please consider this feedback to adjust your refund policy, you are losing good customers and the chance of future profits.

REPLY TO THE RESPONSE FROM NAKEN: Thanks for taking the time to reply but I’m afraid it simply reads like a “computer says no” response. Please design a system or process that allows for a commons sense human intervention, why should it matter if a customer contacts you outside the 14 day limit you’ve imposed? If you really want to keep the customer coming back then as I said before a bit of flexibility makes all the difference, even if a full refund couldn’t be offered. Please do think about how your response underlines your inflexible approach and blaming it on a computer system feels like a poor excuse.

I am sorry to hear your experience has not been what we as a company would expect. Although, unfortunately if we are not contacted within the 14 day return window, our automated system completely closes off the order and no further adjustments can be actioned.

Usually if we are contacted within this 14 day timeframe we are able to delay the automatic processing allowing you more time to return the goods to us if needed (as in your case with wallpaper/decorator delays), but I'm afraid that I cannot see this was attempted therefore the order would have been closed on our system.

That said, this is a matter that will be looked into to see how we could improve in future in the unlikely event that this might happen again.

Love my zigzag clothes horse!

Love my new wooden clothes horse!
Once I’d placed my order online I only had to wait two or three days for my parcel to arrive - it was so quick!
The clothes horse is really good quality and well made, it doesn’t collapse like plastic ones do.
Online communication was friendly and helpful too, I would definitely recommend this company, they aim to please.

Superior customer service

We bought some lovely ceiling fans through Naken a year ago - were very pleased with both service and products at the time. One of the fans recently developed a fault, requiring a replacement component. We were impressed with how easy it was to get the problem assessed and dealt with. Kye at Naken was responsive and very helpful in liaising with the manufacturer in Spain. The part was dispatched in super-quick time - we were advised to expect 8-10 days for delivery and it arrived the following day. Delighted customers here!

A mess

Avoid, a shambles of a company. Heard nothing for 2/3 weeks, eventually sent an email enquiring where we were up to. I was told they were 'looking into it' and then told the following day the buyers couldn't get hold of the stockists. It seems as though they hold no stock at all and just buy discounted stuff to order (when they actually can). A real throwback Del Boy style company that you should swerve.

Update: It's a shame you can't upload screenshots, because your response is a flat out lie. I sent my first email on the 24th. Not the 19th. Pretty worrying that rather than owning their mistake, they are pulling these antics.

Also nice try 'did you place your order with us' before rattling off my (false) order details....

Firstly, I just wanted to check your review relates to the order you placed with us (Naken.co.uk), as from looking into your order it seems our timeline is quite different from details stated on your review (as the order with us you were responded to multiple times and fully refunded before even 2 weeks had passed from placing the order)?

For further details: I can see that you placed the order late afternoon on 12/06 and was given estimated delivery dates of "20th June to 27th June", you then contacted us 1 week after placing the order (before the start of your estimated dates) and was responded to by us within 2 working days - On this reply we explained that our buying team was already investigating the order and currently awaiting a reply from the supplier for further details, however you then decided not to wait and to cancel the order (before we could get back to you with the update). This cancellation was then processed and the refund was actioned to you the very same day (within 2 working hours).

I hope this helps to clarify the timeline and situation for you, but if you would like to further discuss this, please do not hesitate to get in contact through our support system.

Great decor & furniture shop

I ordered from Naken 2 times and had a good experience both times. Despite the first order items being slightly damaged, their customer support team was extremely helpful and sent me a replacement item straight away. The second order was slightly delayed due to customs (2 days), but I was informed of the delay, which I appreciated.

I see that some people complained about the long waiting times to receive the items- that is not an accurate view! Naken provide clear dispatch times on their website and it totally makes sense that some items take longer because they need to be sourced from the producers.

Again, their customer service team can easily be contacted by phone or email, and they are very helpful. The items are quite unique and good quality, not what you'd find in the high-street/regular shops - I have bookmarked their website for future purchases.
