NameNight...Mare

I thought about giving just 1 star, but I'm gonna go with 3 stars instead. The old and not-so-easy-to-use interface, plus the slow response times, really take away from the experience... but I can deal. Just to be clear, I didn't actually choose to use NameBright—it was kind of forced on me by the domain seller. But hey, I've switched since then, obviously.

Old-ass interface

Old-ass interface, had to auction (buy) a domain through their sister company, then can only manage it through NameBright for 3 months (domain held hostage, cannot change registrar), suspended account and domain without notifying me, DISABLED privacy after I enabled it (violation of ICANN)...... what more is there to say? My name, address and phone have been leaked publicly for months.... I feel sick.

Caveat Emptor / Avoid if Possible

Their customer support email address is "abuseATnamebright.com" - think that says everything.

I used their service to acquire a webdomain (successfully), immediately transferred it out, subsequently noticed they'd been charging me $20 a year for a service I definitely wouldn't have accepted willingly (some "Bronze email" BS). Only once my card expired did they start spamming me every day asking me to update my details. Not a chance.

If you're going to buy something from this company, use a burner card and delete it afterwards, or just avoid using them.

Name bright is scam

Name bright is scam. They force to add payment method if you hold domain there and then add random subscription to your domain.

Complete scam!

No social media presence.
Old User interface.
No reply to user tickets.

Owner should be in jail!

Do not ever try to use this website

Scammers. Not writing back to support emails. My DNS doesn't work at all and their support responded with a generic response to check if I didn't write something incorrectly. The EMAIL doesn't work as well and is also saying that there is no MX record where for a week there is everything set up correctly.

This is a fraudulent business

This is a fraudulent business. I signed up for dropcatch and they automatically signed me up for namebright without my consent. If that isn't a scam, I don't know what is. The only employee I was speaking with, "Sean" is the head of their fraud. I hope he is put in prison. I reported this fraud to ICANN, so they can take these fraudsters down.

Namebright is a scam register

Namebright is a scam register. I bought a domain name via dropcatch auction and paid for it. Only to be suspended after 24 hours, the support claims my account was suspended for fraudulent activity with no details. Please avoid this scam website. My username is Clasiedan

Most stress inducing company i have ever worked with.

Most unprofessional, half ass, stress inducing company i have ever worked with...
To make a long story short, I purchased a WAYYY OVERPRICED domain because i needed it for my E-Com site..
I go to configure it and i am locked out of my domain. I contacted namebright 8-9 times and still no reply. after reading other reviews it is clear they do not give a single f about customers and only want your money and will take it without even fufilling theyre end of the deal. If i could give it a 0 star i would.

Unethical practices to undermine small business.

An error in renewing my domain has now left me being held to ransom for the time of £3000 for my domain back. Avoid at all costs, they have no interest in providing a good service only to extract as much money as they can from domain names.

HugeDomains and NameBright stole my…

HugeDomains and NameBright stole my domain name. I had to pay over $5k for the domain name. I made payments for a year until it was paid off. I transferred into my own account at GoDaddy.
A few months later, Name Bright AKA HugeDomains, transferred the domain name back to their account without my permission. They are now playing as if they did not do it and that GoDaddy has a bug. Meanwhile, they own my domain name again! I am working with GoDaddy to get it back. I have proof of their scandalous actions. You can get your domain name back if you act fast. 3 - 4 days.

NameBrights website is very old, buggy and out dated.

Very stressful to deal with.

Outdated website. Horrible customer support.

The interface to manage domains looks like something from 1998. It's slow, old and buggy. Worst customer support of any registrar. I've had tech support literally hang up on me because they didn't have the time nor the patience to help me with an issue. Lots of upsells, uncompetitive pricing, and horrible support make NameBright a registrar to avoid.

Unethical registrar

Seriously, who would ever use this service to sell a domain name? Their TTL on their name servers is 14 days. I didn't have anything against them prior, I was just using a different registrar. When I transferred my domain out, the deleted the DNS zone, but they don't remove the SOA and NS records on their servers. With a 14 day TTL, this means some servers don't update for hours, days or weeks.

This basically punishes you for moving your domain, and they can hold you hostage.

If you are selling domains, do a favor to your future customers. Don't use Name Bright.
