After phoning the branch twice (Cheltenham) - I was put thru to call centre. I arrived at the branch (3pm) -a big OPEN sign on the door - but no one there! So unprofessional & time-wasting! I then pho... See more

This company is a scam
This company is a scam, lets start with the website you make a booking showing available spaces at discount prices 50% off first months and keeps sending you back to the start , I made calls to the company to discuss this they assured me the space was there and that there was no problem, I requested a space at 50% discount as stated on the website price and made the booking, this was yesterday less than 24 hours later I noticed the booking form says the move date is the 21st, we booked for the 16th I am not in Perth on that date, I called the company to change the dates and they will only cancel the booking and keep the admin fee $24, now I have no where to put my stuff they offer to rebook it at only 25% off today, I asked to speak to the canning vale office and they said they were busy and had customers to deal with, I asked to speak to the management and they told me they are too busy and will give me the same answer on top of that they tell me it can take up to 2 weeks to refund my booking
now I have to book somewhere else out of my suburb at a loss until my money is returned and further away from my area
this company are scammers and I recommend not to use them or be very careful of the website and company if you can avoid them I highly recommend you do
National Storage Order - #1444201
Money was stolen from my credit card
Money was stolen from my credit card, even though I was no longer a customer. They illegally kept my credit card details on file against my knowledge, instead of deleting former customer personal details as required by law. Please don't give National Storage your credit card details as they don't keep it secure and an employee stole funds from my card. National Storage apologised and said they'd make it a 'priority' to return the stolen funds, but after three weeks, I realised I'd been dubbed as they did nothing about it and didn't even investigate. I had to report the fraud to the issuing bank and authorities. It caused considerable stress as my credit card had to be destroyed and reissued to prevent further fraud. I just wish I'd reported it to the authorities immediately instead of trusting National Storage when they said they'd return the stolen funds immediately and then never did. Every week it was just more lies and false promises that the stolen funds would be returned.
Would never recommend this company
Would never recommend this company, bad experience. I had only hired the storage unit, which was not used and I had asked whether there was any chance of getting any sort of refund. We had been notified my landlord was selling the house myself and my 2 children had lived in for the passed 5 years, I was having no luck finding a new house for us. Therefore we would need to move into emergency accommodation, the day before we were due to move I got notified that I had been accepted for a house which was amazing. I contacted national storage to advise whether I could please cancel my unit, and whether there was any chance of getting even a small refund. I paid $302 for this unit I need to add the unit was never used. I had rented the unit from the 04/04 until the 18/04. I emailed and let them know what had happened, long story short. National storage is money hungry, the have no feelings for what the customer may have went through. They just give you the stupidest excuse that because its less than a month they will not be offering a refund.
Watch for hidden and additional costs
The "discounted first month" is offset by the one-off administration fee. Experience during the storage agreement was very straightforward and the facility was clean and secure.
Termination of the agreement was a below expectation experience where the customer services representative advised me to pay for another month in order to see the "termination" option online, only to find this didn't work and no refund was given despite the storage unit being vacant for a month with 9 days notice of the termination (agreement states 7 days notice must be given)
Charged $190 for 2 days extra!
I have had storage with national storage Hendra and I'm a fifo worker and have a unit and a car space rented for over 6mths. They are charging me $190 for 2 days as my payment is charged on the 3rd and I can only get my car out on 5th of may but they are charging me a whole month! Not impressed at all as I've been with them for all my storage and 2nd time using them. Will never go with this company again.

2/3 staff I have spoke to are extremely rude and no customer service skills. I was given a false email address to send complaints to. Absolute thieves. I have a video of my experience posted on TikTok to expose these scammers.
paid extra for after hours access, and no access
I hired the storage with the "box ticked 24/7 " then I got the conformation, it is not?
anyhow, after I complaint about it, I received a phone call on the next day, that a 24/7 access is possible for another 30.- $ fee, Ok I've agreed for the additional amount, and the amount was taken from my Credit card, and just 30 min. before I 've tried to access the Storage gate and my access was denied???
I am really angry about that sort of "rib-off"
Sharky unethical behaviour
This company took over an existing storage company (who I had always had a great experience with before): they suddenly billed an increased fee with no warning or notification or change to existing contract, and were not open to discussion on this random fee increase despite repeated emails back and forth and the odd promise to follow up with billing department. Plus, exorbitant late fees charged at a rate of every two weeks if payment is late. I will be getting out as soon as I can.
our washing machine was stolen outside of the lifts when putting in storage
we were moving our belongings into storage and had placed our washing machine at the lift as it was last item to be moved. When we returned we found washing machine had been stolen. National storage told they could not help as no cameras captured the event despite numerous signs placed around stating 24 hour surveillance. National storage said to file a police report and they could do nothing
Worst service ever!! Avoid big time!!! Rip off!!
Worst service ever!!! Ripped me off big time. Charged $294 for half a day of storage and refused any sort of refund, said it’s there policy to charge a full month even if you are a few hours over a month. Do not use terrible service and it’s not clear about the policy.

I contacted National Storage via their online form for the Guildford WA location. I got an attempted callback about 30 minutes later. My phone gave 1 ring then hung up. I promptly got a text message from Sabrina that stated that they were unable to reach me. I'm sure Sabrina meets all her KPIs for having contacted the most customers in a single day. I am exploring other options.
Be very careful with this company.
Be very careful with this company. They prioritise money over the customer and are very rigid with their rules. Charged me $180 (a full month of storage and an admin fee) for a service that I never ended up using because I was one day past the original move in date when I cancelled the service. Completely unreasonable when I brought this to their attention.
Dandenong South customer service team…
Dandenong South customer service team are deplorable and have absolutely no common courtesy what so ever!
Being in customer service myself for over 20 years, I was taught to listen to the customer and show compassion if need be! Something this team does not have at Dandenong South. Very unhappy
The team at Mitchell are the best
The team at Mitchell are the best, simply a one-stop shop.
They are very friendly and supportive.
Good service and professional.
Rude lady on the phone refused to transfer me to the Chatswood centre
Rude lady on the phone when I called the hotline. She was a switchboard call operator and refused to transfer me to the Chatswood storage centre and tried to palm me off. She then said no one was working at the Chatswood storage centre so they can't help me with my invoice enquiry.
Terrible service and they will deduct $11 overdue fee straight away if there's not enough money on your card.
I don't understand why the service is so terrible when their fees are not cheaper than other options. I'm moving my items to another storage company.
BEWARE! THEY WILL GET YOU
Hi, I recently vacated a storage unit at National Storage Chatswood after almost 2 years and decided to post a review warning others of what to expect from them. I found the initial 3 month cost to be at a competitive price but soon after and continuously over the term was hit with increase after increase to an increase of over 40%! CRIMINAL! Same response when I queried the hike in price each time ‘you can always vacate if it does not suit’. They know fully well the cost empty a full storage unit can be so very costly and really who has the time these days. I gave 8 days notice (only 7 required) but they charged me days later for the month. When I called to ask for a refund for the unused portion, they advised they could not give a partial refund ‘read the agreement’. They referred me to Head Office website to submit an query which I did that the same day, eventually they replied with 'sorry too bad, read the agreement'. Even though I’ve already vacated, I almost considered leaving the lock on the unit until they day before month paid in advance runs out as they admitted if I removed the lock before the cycle they would just re-rent the space – DOUBLE DIPPING! Decided is was too much trouble to go back end of month and not up to dealing with this facility again. I was an excellent customer, spent nearly $4,000 in storage fees over the last 2 years. I should have been treated fairly.
National Storage-Wouldn't recommend
We were customer of National Storage Tulamarine warehouse for over a decade. Very much disappointing goodbye to this business. The office lady said she will prepare the paperwork for us to sign so the payment can be stopped. After couple of hours, we went back (it was 2.55pm) she said that she will email to us all necessary details. Couple of days passed and we tried to follow up few times unsuccessfully until few days later we were charged the full amount for the month despite the fact that they advertise all over the storage premises that you need to give at least 7 days notice. If you are dealing with National Storage Tullamarine in Melbourne you have to be careful as they will rip you off any way they can. Hopefully this reaches you before you make decisions to have any business with this company.
PRICE GOUGERS!!!! BEWARE OF T&C’s!
Beware the 5 star reviews are only from short term renters. Anyone getting a unit longer than 3 months will get a significant hike every 3 -6 months continuously. I’ve just had an increase of nearly 12% after 3 months for a small garage unit and it’s going to cost me an extra $600 per year! They give you the cheap price at the beginning knowing you are stuck moving the stuff. I sent an email requesting to know why such a huge hike and they just blew me off with their usual legal response. If you want a unit longer than 3 months do not go near this business!
Belongings are not safe
Belongings are not safe! We had insurance however due to some fine print clause we were not covered. It took them a day to even notice that there was a break and enter.
Don’t rent through national storage
leased a storage shed at your Sturt SA, site for approx 2 years. In that time I had nothing but trouble with the manager there whom would always seem to put her own lock on my shed, which prohibited me in being able to gain access to my belongings in which I stored all my tools for work and I would then miss out on income each week, even after paying the amount due the day before. Due to not having photographic ID when I first moved my belongings in there meant I had to put the unit in a friends name -however they were aware that I owned what was inside of it and would contact me when the bill was due to be paid etc. In march of this year I was incarcerated for approx 3 1/2 months and in that time management was made aware of this, my ex wife called them only a few days after and informed them and also made a payment of $650.00, which bought the balance outstanding to zero. She also made a payment of $200.00 a few weeks later, however there was still a balance outstanding on the account and she told them that she wasn’t able to afford to continue to pay for the unit, due to medical expenses occurred for our daughter due to her anorexia and advised them that I would be released from prison in June, and I would then be able to pay the account up to date, to which they acknowledged and gave her the impression that it would be put on hold until then. However the day I was released from prison we rang to pay the account up to date to which, after not being told anything at all involving the account besides Me being unable to pay the outstanding balance, however after a few days of severe stress I was then made aware that my entire unit had been auctioned off merely days prior - which I am led to believe would have been the last day of auction and also the same day I was released and rang to pay the balance in full. Inside that storage shed was my entire life contents. Everything I owned was in that shed, all my tools for work, as I work for myself and have my own business, I am now unable to work, as there was 15+ years worth of collecting varies tools needed, it had every single piece of important personal paper work that I’ve had since I was 15, brand new tools unopened, safe containing my jewellery, my kids jewellery, wedding rings, christening jewellery etc all my kids babies photos, my wedding photos etc. stuff that can not be replaced, as well as motors for my car every single piece of clothing i owned, keys to my cars that were stored elsewhere, as well as rego plates etc for them. Motor bikes, my kids kayaks, all my dads, & grandads things that were passed down to me when they passed away- again stuff that just can’t be replaced and mean so much to me. Plus so much more. It was piled from the floor to almost the roof and wall to wall full, equaling easily $50,000.00, & to top this off I find out that it was sold for no more than $900, all to pay for a $500 debt. Things that just can’t be replaced and hold a sentimental value to me that I just can’t get back, as well as now being in severe financial hardship now I’m no longer able to work due to not having any tools that are needed. Which means I’m unable to pay for my accomodation, food, clothing, etc In which is just a massive down set for me and will result in me becoming homeless. I have seeked legal advice about this and I am going to pursue it as far as it needs to be in order for my belongings to be returned to me especially considering I strongly believe for them to have auctioned it off prior To the date that based on the timeframe given by them.
