Only giving one star because the installation went well. Other than that the worst customer service ever. Had paperwork issues for over 12 months. Just had messages & a 15min phone call & issues still not resolved. Unhappy does not cover what I am feeling at this moment. Avoid like the plague.
Thanks for the update Nationwide Renewables. But unfortunately your reply shows exactly what company you are. You made an offer of compensation of £30. But only payable if I removed my review. My review has obviously not been removed & no compensation was ever paid. Yes certification was eventually (after I think 8 months) it was received. But you promised an MCS certificate. As you as a company are not MCS certified this was never going to happen. You said you were Octopus partners & I could easily export to them. As there was no MCS certificate this will cost me £200. Again compensation for this was refused & none ever paid. Please stop telling untruths & sort out issues.

Fixed by switching on and off by the lady at nationwide renewables she was fabulous thank you
I was so happy to get solar panels, for my house, at the start of this process communication was really good .That changed on the day of my insulation. nationwide renewables didnt fit my panels were fitted by an external contractor.
they told me my panels wouldnt work on the northside .they should be on the other side of my roof and the 8 panels designed would not fit on my roof that way it .so the fitters had to go and buy different fitting so the panels would fit vertical. I was told the extra 4 panels would help pay of my loan and night time electricity and I will be earning with in 8 weeks . 12/4/ 25 I HAD MY PANEL today 8/4/26 I have received two official papers . talking to a new team of people working for this company, so hoping to start getting panels registered. I as also told by my energy supplier nationwide renewables are not registered to fit solar panels and I have to pay £250 to get my insulation checked before they register my panels
I am having to update this review. since putting this review on here I have been informed by nationwide renewables they will not send me my MCS certificate until I take down this bad review. I told them trust pilot asks for honest reviews which is what I have done .

Did a lovely job of fitting solar panels. They were in and out in the day, leaving everything clean and tidy.GOOD JOB, THANKS TO EMMA FOR ALL HER HELP.
friendly and did what they said they would do
It all started off very well, I accepted the quote, installation was very quick afterwards, nice guys, but then trying to get paperwork back was horrendous, until one year later, Emma took the reigns and sorted out the issue within the week! She was fantastic and I only wish she’d been there from the start. Apologies for the 4 stars but I was so angry with the admin/follow up department! Hopefully things are finally starting to improve. Thank you again, Emma! 👍

My father was sold a solar system under pressure via a doorstep visit to him. He is a vulnerable adult due to him being elderly, and he was told he would be able to receive payments from his energy provider, Octopus. After a year now, we have found out that they are no longer MCS certified, and therefore he is actually unable to register his system for the feed in tariff. He was lead to believe it would not be a problem and was never told they had lost their MCS certification. Now it seems he has a massive investment that he will never be able to receive any payments back for from Octopus. They are impossible to speak to, and do not reply to constant emails chasing documentation - do not use them, they are a terrible company.
We did initially have issues. The installation went really well but we struggled to get the relevant paperwork.
Since we managed to get in contact with Selima things have been resolved quickly. All paperwork was received within days and the communication was excellent. We are now waiting for Octopus as the DNO gas been sent to them. Hopefully the final piece of the puzzle is in sight.

Nationwide Renewables Ltd does not even deserve one star.
I gave this company the benefit of the doubt having seen bad reviews but thought I would give this small company a chance. That was a big mistake!
I had Solar Panels installed and final payment made 3rd April 2024.
The contract signed was for Solar Panels with MCS Certificate and all other certificates withing 14 days of the install. This is section 9 of their T&C’s.
Nationwide Renewables Ltd at this time were a member of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC).
I unfortunately found out later by searching the internet that Nationwide Renewables Ltd on the 17th April 2024 had been terminated from this body following a review by the Non-Compliance Panel. This is the body that provided the MCS Certificates.
After the 14 Days I have e-mailed, rang (nobody available or no answer) raised tickets on their website to be told it is in process. This same standard response went on for months.
They did ring me shortly after trying to sell me a battery but told them to get the paperwork completed on the solar install as being waiting 3 months. Nothing happened.
They rang a few months later and tried to sell me solar panels quoting a postcode that does not exist! At first, I thought it was a call about resolving my documentation issue, I was not happy and this showed how incompetent they are.
In March 2025 I advised that if I do not receive the correct documentation, I will seek legal action. I was told they would look into it and then advised they would arrive in two weeks. Another two weeks later it was then going to be mid-April 2025. Nothing happened.
So, I then engaged Solicitors in April 2025 who spent 9 months trying to progress this with Nationwide Renewables Ltd and they acknowledged the issue but did nothing to resolve it in anyway.
On the 19th of February 2026 I filed a claim for the lost feed in tariff as a result of not receiving the correct documentation to claim this. Nationwide Renewables Ltd had until the 19th of March 2026 to respond to this and did nothing. As a result of this the County Court awarded a judgement in my favour.
At the same time, I was in correspondence with Nationwide Renewables Ltd via Whats App. Through this they issued me a Buildings Regulations Compliance Certificate from a company called Right NRG Limited. On the 19th of March 2026 they sent me a link to Octopus to sign upto their feed in tariff at a cost to me of £250 and the weblink warned it might not be successful. Nationwide Renewables Ltd then advised they have now completed all of their obilgations! So, it took them nearly 2 years to simply fob me off with this. I advised what my contract clearly stated.
Based on my experience I have put this review up to make others aware, so they don’t make the same costly mistake I did by dealing with these unprofessional amateurs who are not answerable to any regulated body. AVOID THIS GROUP.
If they respond to this with sorry to hear this and let may take a look at this then you know nothing is going to happen as that is what they have been saying for 2 years.
Absolutely avoid this company.
Nationwide Renewable are not MCS certified, and they do not make this clear before you sign the contract. This is crucial information that directly impacts your ability to switch energy providers, and withholding it is completely unacceptable.
Because of their lack of certification, you can end up facing extra charges — for example, Octopus Energy may charge around £250 to switch you if your system isn’t MCS certified and Flexi-Orb registered.
On top of that, they damaged my cladding while putting up the scaffolding. I reported this issue, and it has been completely ignored. No repair, no accountability, nothing.
This company shows a serious lack of transparency, professionalism, and responsibility. What should have been a straightforward installation has turned into stress, extra costs, and property damage.
Also they will delay to send documents.
Your response is inaccurate and misleading.
The system was paid for in full, and proof of payment has already been provided. Any suggestion that there is an outstanding balance is simply not true.
Regarding MCS certification, this was not made clear at the point of sale. Displaying information somewhere on a website is not the same as clearly informing a customer before entering into a contract—especially when it has direct financial consequences, such as additional charges and limitations when switching energy providers.
As for the damage to my property, evidence has been submitted, including photos of the cladding damage caused during scaffolding installation. The fact that you state otherwise raises serious concerns about your internal communication and how customer complaints are being handled.
Delays in providing documentation have also been an ongoing issue, adding unnecessary stress to what should have been a straightforward process.
The installation went smoothly the engineers did a great job. The only let down was the documents It took them 4 months after the installation before I received anything.
these were needed to export any surplus energy that the panel produced. Their explanation was that they were under new management and upgrading their online system. I have eventually received most of my documents apart from my itemised invoice which they agreed to provide ( need to be itemised to prove that you own the whole system). The was help by their staff member Salma, who was very helpful with these documents.
Good friendly helpful service. Sorted out all my queries and gave me the information I needed

Nationwide is a scam. Going to two years this company has not done my documentation. There is something sheddy about them. Nationwide is a scam.
It is interesting that after I sent in my review Nationwide got in touch with me asking that I take down my review claiming that they have done the documentation. I think a little background should help here.
A Nationwide agent by name Adam came to my house and convinced me to have them install solar for me. They claimed that it will bring down my energy bill significantly and that I will sell back my excess generated. For me to sell the excess, I need a certificate from Mcs body. Nationwide did not provide that certificate. I later realised that it is difficult for them to get because they are not a member of that body. When I confronted Nationwide, I got a shock of my life. Nationwide claimed that mcs certificate was not part of our agreement. So how will I now sell my excess to the grid? Nationwide said they will find a way around it. Until today, that has not been done. Nationwide gave me a Gtc letter that they are working together. I have made my research. Gtc is just like Nationwide working with another related company. The letter is irrelevant and of no use. I referred a friend to Nationwide and it was the same story. I called Nationwide. I sent in emails but Nationwide is as helpless as I am because it cannot provide me with what I need. I presented the Gtc letter and I was told it does not have meaning. Each time I got in touch with Nationwide, it was the same refrain; we will sort it out. Nationwide in 2025 sent in two workers to my house to have a look at the installation. I complained about these issues and they said they will report to the head office. This is 2026. They did not get in touch again. It took a review on Trustpilot to jolt Nationwide. They are now threatening me. I did not see the agent Adam again that convinced me to borrow money from bank to install solar that is just as normal as every other electricity supply because I was not equiped with necessary documentation to help me. What a deception! What a company! Why is Nationwide not a member of MCS body? Is there anything Nationwide is not doing right?

My brother has had a terrible experience with this company. He had 20 solar panels fitted with inverter and battery and also they arranged to have new roof tiles so the solar panels could be flush mounted. He had multiple issues with the system not working correctly, which was down to poor installation. He also realised that they had fitted a 5kW battery when he had paid for a 10kW battery which they eventually changed. The re-roof has been poorly done which the roofers blame on where the solar panel frames were fitted and could eventually leak, but NWR say that he needs to sort this with the roofing contractor. NWR employed and directly paid the roofing company so they should take up the issue. He has requested that they remove the video that they posted on YouTube as he is not at all happy.
NWR had theirs MCS and RECC accreditation terminated for non compliance several years ago, which leaves you with only 1 option if you want to export electricity and is dependent on a £250 inspection by Octopus energy.
He is still awaiting a valid invoice after 9 months.
His and my reviews have been removed several times as this company has refused to rectify issues while a negative review is still showing on trust pilot, which speaks a lot about what type of company this is.
So be warned, go with a company that is MCS registered⚠️⚠️⚠️
UPDATE
Salma is their new customer complaints manager (the 3rd manager in 9 months) and is trying to sort out his issues but she is still insisting that negative reviews are removed and has asked him to sign an agreement that states that if any negative reviews are posted by him or his family after they have revisited, they will consider taking legal action for commercial liable.
UPDATE 2
The reroof that was completed by a contractor that NWR employed at the time the flush solar panel were fitted was extremely poor and left holes in the roof because the solar panels had been placed in an incorrect position. A survey has been done by a roofing surveyor who has stated there are multiple faults and doesn't comply with current building regulations.
NWR have agreed to have the roof fixed and sent their solar engineer out to remove the 4 panels and said a roofer would come and correct the roof tiles, this was almost 3 weeks ago.
Numerous calls have been made to NWR, most going unanswered but they have still not got a roofer to come and I'm extremely worried that if there is a heavy downpour the roofing membrane will not be sufficient to stop water coming in.

The customer service of Selma has been excellent. She's managed to sort out long standing issues, explaining next steps, and answering my many questions. It's so beneficial for me to have one point of contact, and I'm so grateful that it's Selma.

Please see my first review as I have now ran out of characters to review the incompetence of the company.
Update 2
It has now been just under a month since first giving my bank details to v***o for compensation. I have had to give my bank details multiple times since then to 3 people. I now keep getting requests for my bank details and promises that funds will be with me within 8 days but that is clearly not the case. Everyone apologising that "the bank details were never noted down" Now I have found out v***o has now left the company after being told he is on sick leave for the past 2 weeks. This should show you how the company is completing its "restructure".
Nationwide has on multiple occasions tried to pressure me to remove my review for £100 which was promised a month ago, requested my partner to remove the review and hinted multiple times if we do not remove the review I wont recieve the compensation that was promised. As this company should know buying reviews or requested reviews to be removed or altered is against the TOS of trust pilot.
Who ever is next to take over my account. I have been promised multiple times I will receive this money. When will this happen.
I await your call where you will try and pressure me to remove my reviews and ask for my bank details again.
Just to let you know, I have now had to edit all name out the review and Nationwide now report my reviews because of these names. Even though there are multiple “good” reviews with peoples names. Double standards it seems.
Update 3
I now keep getting excuses for the funds, its been a month now. Get it together and pay what you promised. NWR You know my number, call me.
Update 4
Nationwide is stating my review is not factual and keeps removing them. Nationwide can you comment what is not factual of my review? Call me. You have my number. If you want voice recordings to be released, I'm more than happy to share them with you.
Update 5
Finally got the money after all the chasing. To people who do go for this company. Make sure you record every encounter and phone call as hopefully it will help fight misinformation from members of staff. Hopefully in the future if anything does happen the "restructure" helps... we shall see.
Update 6
I've noticed the company is trying to state the £100 was a good will gesture.. and not buying reviews. I'd happy to provide voice recordings from your company showing this is infact a lie. What they wished for me to do, is remove any negative review to receive any payment that was already promised me from a member of staff...

I was under the impression that Nationwide Renewables automatically sent all the relevant documents to Octopus Energy on completion of installation of the solar panels. I since found out that they didn’t.
I had to ask for my DNO letter to be resent to me. This was done straight away and I have now forwarded it to Octopus.
