I love this store! However 6:00pm Saturday March 14th the employee in vitamin section was beyond rude .

I asked for a product she had time to tell me she was busy, but not the time to tell me where niacin was.

I run a business and have employees. Wher customers don’t let management know what happens on their absence, companies suffer .

I’ve been going to Natural Grocers for…

I’ve been going to Natural Grocers for years and years and have recently become massively upset with my local shop, in Steamboat Springs, CO, closing 10-15 minutes early. I have kids, I’m a single mom. We had errands to run and I came here last because it was last on the way home and I wanted to buy eggs and fruit and take them straight home. We got here at 1922 and they were closed already. All the lights on, but open sign off and doors locked. They’re supposed to close at 1936. This is not the first time this has happened. Please please please do something about it!!!!!!!! Get your managers and employees to keep your shops open until the time they’re supposed to stay open. PLEASE. I like Natural Grocers as a shop and I love that you get organic food, and produce without apeel and all those things!! PLEASE MAKE THIS STORE BETTER! Open until you’re supposed to be open! Sincerely, a restaurant assistant manager for years + single mama of young kids

Bismarck

Bismarck, ND customer here. These other one-star review are ridiculous. I worked at WF in Cali for 5+ years and the amount of attitude from customers is reprehensible on a good day, let alone if the cashier has something difficult going on in their personal life. These reviewers need to be reviewed. Personally I have only had positive experiences at the location in Bismarck. If I ever was to get an occasional glazed look or “attitude” from a stressed cashier, or hear music I wouldn’t personally listen to, why on earth would you rate someone poorly for being human? Especially when they are probably making a fraction of what you are😔

Very nice staff and great selection of products! Anytime I'm making something that calls for unique ingredients, I know I can always find it here. They also have a wonderful selection of gluten free products.

Cedar City, UT Shopper

I shop at the Natural Grocers in Cedar City, UT. I've been shopping there since their grand opening a few years ago. I'm generally satisfied with NG but have one complaint. I buy the sparking water with natural essence (Waterloo, Nixie, etc.). My favorite flavor was the Pina Colada (non alcoholic) water until they stopped stocking it. I switched to Nixie's version of that water until they stopped stocking it. I switched to the Waterloo Pineapple, Grape, and Strawberry until they stopped stocking all three. I switched to the Pomegranate/Mint until they stopped stocking it. I'm down to a single flavor that I sort of like (the Nixie Blackberry/Raspberry) and am wondering how long it will be before they stop stocking that as well. The only flavors left on the shelf are NOT my favorites. I spend around $150.00 per week and feel that they should bring back the good stuff.

My Worst Experience Ever !!!!!!!

My Worst Experience Ever !!!!!!!!

I parked at Natural Grocers Parking lot , and went in shopping for grocery and supplements. My first check-out and payment was made at 8:27pm, and after unloading my grocery to my car, I came back shopping for a second time on the same day. I made my second check-out at 8:36Pm. Then I walked to my car, disinfected some of the items, put them into my own bags, drank a little water , started my car and left the parking lot at 8:53PM. All the time my car parked at Natural Grocer's parking lot was devoted to grocery shopping at this Natural grocer store , except for 15 minutes back at my car , sortimng out grocery , putting them in my own bags, and starting my car, and preparing for driving away from its parking lot. You know what happened to me? I got $92.00 fine for parking at Natural Grocer parking lot for shopping at Natural Grocer store.

Been a regular customer of this store…

Been a regular customer of this store the one in Utah, on Redwood, South Jordan Utah. I like buying my organic stuff there but most of their cashiers lack professionalism esp on 6-28-25 around 830pm my sis and I came in to the store with positive energy and left with negative one. The cashier (didn’t catch her name will do next time) was snappy, has attitude problem. The following day around noon (hot weather) we went to Trader’s Joe, the energy of their employees was vibrant and positivity is infectious. Now my sister is back to trader’s joe and sprouts. She’s completely ditching natural grocers stores esp the one on Redwood.

Uppity Business Trying Too Hard to Look Cool

I'm done with this pretentious business that has rude staff while overcharging me money. That's extortion. They even started blocking my access to the Natural Grocers's website with Cloudflare's endless captcha loop of hell. Cloudflare sucks. Any business that uses Cloudflare doesn't care about innocent people who are blocked from accessing websites. This is showing a rise of disrespect towards customers in the business world. And Natural Grocers is jumping on that toxic bandwagon. I'll look elsewhere for a business that treats customers more fairly without this BS.

Scary schizophrenic monsters

Horrible schizophrenic nasty monsters as nice as could be for the 5 years I spent thousands of $ then turned extremely aggressive when I tried to return a $16 supplement as a survivor of childhood trauma I'll never go near that place again.
Their customer service is garbage you can send an email with no reply or leave a voice mail I don't leave voice mails.

Company is racist

Company is racist. Management has no racial diversity. Store will racially profile customers and treat them unfairly and rudely. Lack of professionalism, ethics, safety and intelligence. If your Gay or Trans, they will treat you great, but if you aren't white, its only a matter of time before something racist will occur with management patting each other on the back.

Please prioritize your valued customers…

Natural Grocers is one of the few healthfood stores that attracts kind customers. I feel good in the store. It radiates wholeness. My only disappointment is that they don't provide a place to sit and eat lunch. I live 1 hour drive from Albuquerque an typically spend the whole day in the city. I need a place to land, eat lunch and relax a bit. Most places that provide these features serve unhealthy food. Would it be possible to provide such a place for truly healthy minded people? I try to avoid supporting Whole Foods. I mentioned this to the store staff, but they express their concern about attracting homeless people. Why are they even allowing homeless people to hang out at their store if they are not buying anything? And at the same time depriving their valued customers from.much needed support and a sense of community? This sounds like catering to homeless people. Please know that the majority of homeless people already receive free meals and a place to sleep. Most of them are rebellious souls, with the exception of the few that became homeless because of bad circumstances. The latter typically get back on their feet within a year. The help for homeless people does come from churches and other nonprofit organizations. Your job is to provide quality products and customer service to your valued customers. You have the right to refuse anyone to enter your store. That is a fundamental right. Stop listening to ridiculous Woke fake discrimination theories. Let's be clear, most homeless people are mental patients and need to be approached that way, with compassion, firmness, and strong boundaries. I am asking you to please do your job as store owners. Thank you:)

Outdated refund policies and poor customer service

Outdated refund policies, and history of incorrectly pricing items listed for sale as one price while charging full price at register. This has happened to me twice in the handful of times I have shopped at an Oregon location. The first time I let it go. The second an item was supposed to be discounted 50% and I contacted the store who told me I'd need to bring the receipt back in person (not going to happen. I live out of town only visiting this city when I have medical appts.) I was given corporate's number who only further bungled and frustrated me with numerous calls/emails to fix this minor mistake on an item <$20. I included detailed photos of the still sealed item listed for sale as one price and my receipt being charged full price.
Corporate offered me a gift card, but after all this I told them I won't be returning to shop and wanted only the overcharged amount refunded to be done with this situation. They pushed back until I told them I'd be contacting my bank for a partial charge back with the same proof I provided to the company. Then magically they were able to send a check via snail mail, received 2 weeks later.
This was really about principal for me, as they made a basic error (although multiple times) and put the burden on the customer to fix their issue. Updated policies are needed. I see a lot of seniors shopping in this location and I'd recommend to everyone (especially those on fixed incomes) to check receipts prior to leaving the store to make sure this company isn't ripping you off.

I rated this store high because I have shopped there several years. I lived in TX but have relocated NM. I still shop there and over other stores. Years ago I chose Naturals because I had more than a dozen negatives with Whole Foods, most unfortunately whole food, food poisoning.
Honestly I've had the rude employees and been followed at one or two NG but maybe because Ive built friendships at each one I've been to I keep going. We all expect perfection. Personally I expect quality, transparency and safety.
