A supportive and inspiring experience

Sam and NCCE are great and really supportive. I have felt really seen, heard and understood throughout the course and the balance of self led and group participation works well. I'm not afraid to ask for support as when I do I receive great advice and tips.

A new life!

Truly, I only have praise for NCCE and my incredible tutor Eniko. My level 5 Creative Therapeutic Arts course, enabled me to do something I never thought possible. It has completely changed my life. I have now enrolled on Level 6 Advanced Neurodiversity Family Coaching. Online learning has been perfect for someone like me, living in an isolated community with grown up children, stuck in that minimum wage trap. Thank you x

I’m doing the Therapeutic Play Coaching course. I’m really enjoying the interactive learning online which I can access anywhere. The activity planning that I get to do with the children at school is really useful and I’m going to use the course to set up a therapeutic play room in the school. Being able to have live lessons with my teacher has been really useful. NCCE has really high expectations of me and everyone, which I found hard to start with but I soon understood why this was so important. Fully recommend NCCE!

I’m on the senior practitioner course. Even though it’s level 5 I bought Sam’s EYE book and it’s really helped me with my coursework. Eniko responds to all my messages super quick like lightening! She even offers sessions when I get into a panic! I overthink things but she always make me feel better. I studied my L3 somewhere else but I’m so glad I chose NCCE do my L5. I’d never go anywhere else!

AVOID. Find another provider.

I enrolled with NCCE for the CACHE Level 3 Early Years Educator course and also paid for three members of staff to take it. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely poor.

Support felt minimal throughout. Feedback often came across as defensive, and marking was frequently nit-picky and overzealous. I was repeatedly asked to rewrite succinct, perfectly adequate explanations into lengthy over-explanations that didn’t meaningfully improve the work.
As others have said in their reviews - this qualification has been made disproportionately difficult; I'm not sure how qualified the tutors are.

I was also falsely accused of using AI. Even after I provided evidence to disprove this, it was repeatedly referenced later to deflect away from the formal complaint I had to launch.

Whilst I received one email to check in, none of my colleagues received any at all - NCCE seem very happy to take your fees, and give the bare minimum back. Support is meant to be proactive.

When I asked to switch tutors, that email was immediately forwarded to my tutor, who sent a fairly aggressive response. I found this deeply unprofessional.

The biggest issue was the submission system. Submissions were restricted to weekdays only, with the portal closed at weekends, for bank holiday periods (extended to 4 days every bank holiday), for a whole month over Christmas, and for two weeks in summer. Given that most distance learners work full time, this created unnecessary barriers. The organisation said these rules were agreed by a learner vote, but this was apparently conducted on a private Facebook group and they refused to provide any evidence.

After more than three years, none of the four of us completed. When I requested a partial refund to reflect the limited progress made (two never made it past Module 1, the other 2 not past Module 3 - of 8 Modules. ie. the provider had provided very little in terms of service or expenditure), this was refused and my enrolment was aggressively cancelled in a way that did not reflect what I had requested.

They refused to follow their own complaints policy and their responses to my formal complaint (written entirely reasonably) was bitter, aggressive and deeply unprofessional.

I cannot recommend this provider, there are several other providers that are the same price or lower; go and find those instead. You may even be able to complete the qualification.

I'm anticipating a reply to this review with plenty of defensiveness; I'm sure they'll claim that I was the problem. That doesn't explain why all 4 of us didn't make it through.

Dear Jennifer, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
As your enrolment was several years ago, your request for a partial refund falls outside our refund period. We appreciate that circumstances change, however we are unable to issue refunds where courses have been inactive for long periods.
We aim to support all adult learners, but we are not able to take responsibility when a learner chooses not to engage with the course. To help with motivation and progression, we offer quarterly progress reviews for all learners on EYE qualifications.
Every learner also has direct access to tutor support at any time via email, or by booking a Zoom session. These options are visible at the top of the learner portfolio dashboard, so help is always available when needed.
We are a small specialist team and close the submission form at 3pm on Fridays. This allows our tutors to maintain (and often exceed) the 3–5 day marking turnaround, and also provide weekend tutorial sessions, knowing many learners work full-time – as you mentioned. Before confirming this policy, we ran a poll, which you could see the link to, directly embedded on the submission form, and 100% of respondents selected this option as the best way to protect weekend availability for one-to-one support. We appreciate that weekend sessions are valuable for full-time professionals.
When we began operating, learner check-ins were only offered if we were aware that someone was experiencing personal difficulties. As our college has grown, we have invested in a new system that alerts us every three months when a learner does not submit work, ensuring no one is overlooked, while still recognising adult learners’ responsibility to reach out when they need support, a study break, or guidance.
Regarding holiday closure, our team take two weeks in summer and two and a half weeks at Christmas. The latter is common across many workplaces and is the only extended period our tutors have to rest, as they also support learners in the evenings and on weekends. If you did not request assistance during these times, we would not have known you needed additional help.
We must also comply with the awarding body's regulations on academic integrity. One of your submissions returned a high AI-usage percentage. You explained that you had not used AI and immediately offered to redo the task, which we appreciated. In other cases, we would instead offer a professional discussion to confirm a learner’s knowledge.
You asked to change tutor, and we actioned this promptly. We are sorry if you felt uncomfortable at any point. However, a tutor change cannot override college policies or AI findings; all tutors follow the same standardised processes and are available for support via quarterly reviews, tutor messaging and live bookings.
Although there had been limited progress, we offered you the opportunity to transition to the new Reform version of the EYE qualification free of charge. You accepted and submitted new target dates to restart, which would have extended your opportunity to complete beyond the original December 2026 Legacy course deadline.
When you later asked to be withdrawn, we actioned this straight away. Although withdrawal removes you from the formal student complaints route, we still responded in full to the concerns shared in your email.
We take great pride in the service we provide to our learners. Our team are all Early Years qualified: most hold degrees in Early Years and one holds a PhD and an EdDoc, and three Master’s degrees in Early Years, Education and Montessori. All staff qualifications and experience are verified by the awarding bodies to ensure high standards for our programmes.
We truly wish your experience had been more positive and are grateful for the opportunity to explain our processes and the tutorial opportunities we offer to learners to you again.
Warm wishes and all the best for the future,
NCCE

LaunchPad

I am using the Launchpad course to complete my Child and Young persons Therapeutic Training. The live sessions are engaging and the opportunity to share and reflect in person is invaluable. It has bought the course to life and the workload is manageable with access to all the resources as you progress. The online sessions have created a community which is supportive and the shared knowledge is incredible.

I have recently completed the NCFE…

I have recently completed the NCFE CACHE Level 5 Diploma for the Senior Early Years Practitioner through the National College for Care and Education.

My experience with the college has been both amazing and life-changing. From someone with little self-confidence and a huge fear of failure, with the fantastic support from NCCE, I have achieved something I never thought possible!

I must say a massive and heartfelt thank you to my tutor, Eniko. Eniko was the driving force behind my achievement. Without Eniko's unwavering support, knowledge, and expert feedback, I don't think I would have gotten through the diploma. So once again, thank you so much, Eniko!

Completing the diploma has made me feel more confident and knowledgeable in my role as a SEND Early Years Practitioner. It has even made me consider continuing my studies onto Level 6!

I would encourage anyone considering further study in early years education to look into the National College for Care and Education. They offer a variety of payment options to make it easier to access courses.

What a wonderful team you are at NCCE!

What a lovely company!

I have thoroughly enjoyed completing the NCCE Level 3 Certificate in Coaching and Therapeutic Practice with Children and Families. This is a wonderful course that provides deep insight into child behaviour and development, the essential skills needed to become a successful coach or therapist, and the different approaches to supporting children and families. The learning experiences are excellent, the course materials are easy to follow, and feedback is always provided promptly, which makes the learning journey very supportive and effective.

I am already applying many of the strategies learned within my childminding setting, and my next step will be to offer therapeutic and coaching services to children and families. This course truly bridges the gap in support services, especially given the long waiting lists for referrals. As a coach or therapist, we have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and families.

Eniko and Sam are both lovely and incredibly supportive. Eniko, as my tutor, was always there for me, and nothing was ever too much trouble. She is approachable, highly knowledgeable, and explained the subject in a clear, easy-to-understand way. The NCCE team really makes you feel part of a family—knowing that if you are struggling at any point with your course, they will support you and guide you through it.

And on a lighter note, I used to hate PowerPoints and had no idea how to make them! Now, thanks to this course and the support from the college, I’m proud to say I can create and deliver presentations confidently. That definitely wouldn’t have happened without their encouragement!

I am so proud to be able to study with NCCE and to have such fantastic tutors. I am looking forward to enrolling in another course with them and can’t wait to get started!

A fantastic learning experience!

My CAVA Level 3 qualification with NCCE has been the best online course I've completed. The support and efficiency in both communication and marking from the tutors was outstanding. Thanks to NCCE I was able to retrain in just a few months and am now doing my dream job as a vocational assessor. Thanks to the whole NCCE team!

A wonderful, passionate and personal training group

I have just completed my Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Pedagogy and I have had a fantastic experience with NCCE.

NCCE is such a personal training group, which is rare, and the support is faultless. As a student, you can definitely tell how much the tutors care about their role and how passionate they are about what they are teaching. Even though I am sure there are many students studying with the company, NCCE makes you feel seen and valued as an individual, as opposed to a tickbox or number.

Thank you so incredibly much to Sam and all of NCCE for developing this wonderful qualification, and for supporting me throughout my course and beyond. I honestly cannot recommend NCCE enough and I am so excited for how this course has prepared me for my future in Early Years.
