Wine shop is great but shipping via DPD makes it untenable to order from them

I bought a bottle of whisky for family in the UK. The order was made 16.6.2025 and was immediately confirmed. Today (18.6.2025) I received emails from both ND John Wines and the delivery company confirming that the order would be delivered today within a specified timeframe. I think this is excellent service. The whisky was also cheaper than in most other outlets that I checked. Let me also add that I don't live in the UK and so had not heard of ND John Wines. Before making the order I checked their rating on Trustpilot. Their high rating helped me and is well-deserved.

As a follow up to very good recommendations when buying in store I subsequently ordered 6 bottles of red wine via the website. Arrived promptly, highly recommend both a store visit and web ordering.

Excellent service. Didn't have a wine bottle in stock, so replaced with another slightly more expensive one, but did not charge the difference.
Good communication and great wine

Very helpful; extremely good value and honest. I ordered a wine and they replied that the vintage had changed and “Would I like to continue with my order? Based on that premise”. I’d definitely recommend TP them as a wine supplier. Thank you

I ordered a very nice bottle of whiskey from ND John Wines, the man I spoke to was very helpful he told me that I had missed a next day delivery as the cut off time was 12.00hrs and rang about 15.30hrs I was more than happy to wait one more day BUT the very next day we had a text from their courier giving me a delivery time of between 12.15hrs and 13.15hrs that day and my Whiskey arrived as promised in tact and very well boxed. Unbelievably delivered in less than 22hrs from ordering WOW. would I order another bottle from ND John Wines well of course I would. Many thanks to all the staff at ND John Wines, what a team effort. Amazing service, ordered a wine yesterday and it arrived today.

had to find a few bottles of a hard to get champagne for my sister as a present. not only did they have them in stock they also posted to Northern Ireland. the bottles arrived well within the the couple of days stated and everything was well packaged and nothing was broken, these bottles where about £100 each so Im glad. great service and nice feed back from their customer service . they did an excellent job and will definitely use them again.

Brilliant wine merchants with a great selection of good and unusual wines and beers. Customer service is excellent, they missed two cans from my last order and had them delivered without charge in a couple of days.

I trawled the internet for some glasses that appeared to be out of stock or deleted everywhere, then these guys popped up. In stock, a fair price and then they arrived in super quick time - on Tue morning (I ordered on Sunday night). Can't recommend enough.

Good little wine merchant.
Ordered a couple of bottles of Portuguese and an Italian. Was despatched and received quickly.
A picking error was made with the Portuguese which was swiftly rectified.
Delivery price is ok, but still worth it as the wines are competitively priced.
Overall selection is good too. Would happily use again.

This was my first ever order with ND John Wine and I am always a little nervous buying from somewhere for the first time but......Wow!! Such great service, I never write reviews but when things go exactly or even better than you would expect then fair play it's worth talking about.
Ordered on Sunday morning, had a text and an email more or less instantly to say order received,
Another Text and email on Tuesday Morning saying my order had been shipped
Then an email from the courier company on Tuesday evening with tracking details.
Wednesday morning my order arrived, I did not pay a premium for an express delivery but that was fast considering the awful weather we have had.
I bought the Kwak gift set as a present and bought two bottles of Kwak for myself ,
They arrived in perfect condition, in 2 separate boxes, I loved the way the bottles were packaged so that there was no chance they would break.
I honestly could not fault a single thing about ordering from ND John Wine, from start to finish, do not hesitate in buying from them, it was my 1st time but will not be my last.
