For the naysayers and bad reviews: At the very top of the website in not so fine print : NeedTags has been officially licensed by the California Department of Motor Vehicles to provide DMV services on their behalf. NeedTags is not owned or operated by any government agency and charges fees for value-add DMV services pursuant to CVC Section 1685. Standard service may be obtained from the DMV at no cost. I'm a satisfied customer and will refer to my family & friends. For those leaving the bad reviews: I shake my head.

Go to the DMV yourself! This is a rip-off service!
Terrible communication. I thought I paid for faster delivery and the rude agent says I didn't and have to wait 2-3 weeks before I get my title. Read the fine print. Go to the dmv yourself, pre-fill the 227 form and pay the DMV directly to have your title processed because this service us a RIP-OFF!! I’M TELLING EVERYONE.

With regards to Duplicate Transfer services, we state on our website and in our correspondence, that all CA Certificate of Titles are issued, printed, and mailed through the DMV headquarters in Sacramento, CA. This important information is disclosed and explained in detail prior to checkout, alongside a full explanation of the process.
Replacement registration is always issued alongside your duplicate title order. Because registration cards are processed and printed in-house (at NeedTags), this document is sent to you in advance and much quicker than the actual duplicate title, printed at DMV headquarters. As such, upon the completion of your vehicle's expedited duplicate title processing, you first receive a replacement registration card, and soon after, the duplicate title... much faster than using the DMV website, which has been known to take months. Thank you once again for your feedback. We appreciate your time.

Fake! Scam! Fraud!
Fake! Scam! NeedTags.com is a scam website disguising themselves as the real DMV. If you try to cancel after being baited into paying their excessive extra registration charges, they will threaten to sue you claiming you acknowledged that they were charging you extra fees.
