Think twice before spending…

We purchased specialty pool insurance through Neptune Flood, our pool was damaged during a tropical storm, the property flooded which directly damaged our inground pool. Neptune completely denied the claim. This incident was exactly why we purchased insurance in the first place, we feel taken and will never purchase this type of insurance again. Waste of money!

Hi Robert, thank you for your feedback. Pool Repair & Refill is an optional coverage added to the primary flood policy. While we cannot comment about your specific policy publicly, a pool repair & refill claim must come from a result of flood damage. General damage to your pool not caused by flooding on your property is not covered, as a Neptune policy covers flood-related damage. If you would like to review your claim, please contact your assigned account manager who can help with any questions you may have.

Deceptive practices

The reps are very kind and courteous but they charged me after they raised the price and I said no - I do not want a policy. They then said it may take a month to get my money back. Crooks.

Hi Marie, Thank you for the feedback. While a refund is processed immediately, once the check is printed, it typically takes 7-10 business days for the United States Postal Service (USPS) to deliver. Please know that our team processes refunds swiftly, but once the check is printed, we cannot control the speed at which the USPS handles the delivery.

They never sent any paperwork stating…

They never sent any paperwork stating the policy premium was DOUBLING making flood insurance $3,800 a year. When I called with a new flood policy that was much more reasonable they wouldn’t let me terminate my policy. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH NEPTUNE. Had I received paperwork telling my how high my flood insurance was I certainly would have cancelled it. Which is why I believe they didn’t sent us any warning.

Hi Hilary, thank you for the feedback. Neptune sends email and physical mail renewal notices multiple times before the renewal date, starting 75 days prior. This 75-day window allows you to review your policy information and make any changes, including cancelation. Neptune is required to follow the valid cancelation reasons set by the federal government's National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). If you would like copies of your dated notices, please contact our customer success team at support@neptuneflood.com or 727-202-4815.

I'm writing this review to help you…

I'm writing this review to help you understand what happens when you place a claim and how Neptune treats their customers.
After Hurricane Ian, Neptune never paid us for all the damage caused by the Hurricane Ian. Neptune sent out their own engineering company which of course is working for them. Our home was right in the path of Hurricane Ian.
Citizens paid us 20% over the dwelling policy to rebuild the whole home. Yes, it took over a year. Because of Neptune we are out of pocket for repairing our own stilt pilings thousands of dollars and the bill keeps going up.
Our G.C. & our engineer is rebuilding our home, from 2022-7/9/2024 said the home shifted 3'' this was caused by rushing water. **On top of this Neptune right after the hurricane our bill (not even living in the home, living in a R.V with 2 large dogs) went from $989.000 to $3,120) Please beware this company, Neptune is not backed by FEMA or any government agency, they're a private company, which means your out of pocket of whatever this company doesn't pay you. SHAME ON THEM!!!
SBA has tried to help by calling our agent without one call back.
I now have my proof to take them to court and fight them. We lost everything and someone behind a desk gets a raise by not paying us.
** All Neptune is all about you have insurance for your mortgage holder. Yes, I went for the cheapest policy and learn the hard way. I hope this helps you.

Hi Laura, thank you for the feedback. Neptune sells policies on behalf of insurance companies and does not adjust claims or make coverage determinations. Once a claim is filed, it is the insurance company's responsibility to handle your claim with Peninsula Insurance Bureau. This is for your protection to keep the process objective and fair. While we cannot discuss specific policy information in the public review replies, your policy and claims documentation outlines the adjuster and engineer assessment for covered damage.

Worst Flood Insurance Ever

Worst Flood Insurance Ever – Stay Away!

I purchased a flood insurance policy and the first year was fine. Then it became an absolute nightmare. Here's why you should avoid them at all costs:

Ridiculously High Premiums:
The premiums are outrageously high compared to other companies. Initially, I thought I was getting a fair deal, but they raised it by 300% for no apparent reason! The land and FEMA flood map (100-year floodplain) didn’t change. When I called other companies, they confirmed that my new premium was three times higher than it should be. When I asked why, I was told that their "new" computer software decided I should pay more. Apparently, the company has no control over their prices? They even collected this new premium via my escrow without my agreement. AUTOMATIC. My new monthly mortgage + escrow jumped by $900 a MONTH. It's fine. I didn't want to eat anyhow. Cancel? NOPE. No refunds for unused coverage. I have to survive this mess for 2 more months, hope I don't lose my house, and then pray I can stop them and get a new policy.

Terrible Customer Service:
The customer service is abysmal. Every time I called with a question or concern, I was either put on hold forever or given the runaround by clueless representatives. It seems like no one knows what they’re doing over there.

Overall, Neptune is a complete rip-off. Save yourself the headache and find a reputable company that actually values its customers. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with an insurance provider.

Hi John, thank you for your feedback. Neptune sends a renewal notice 75 days before the policy renewal date to allow you time to review your coverage options before the new Neptune policy takes effect. We also send multiple mail and email reminders leading up to your renewal date to you, your agent, and your lienholder.

If your policy is billed to your lienholder to be paid through an escrow account, they handle the processing, not Neptune. We do not have the ability to deduct from an escrow account. Neptune is required to follow the valid cancellation reasons set by the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Once you receive your next renewal notice, you can speak to your agent or contact Neptune directly if you would like to cancel your upcoming renewal.

Terrible customer service!

Terrible! I have tried getting a quote for a week now. This was BEFORE the Miami flooding which in Central Florida we were not affected anyway. The website when I list my address states I have too many daily quote requests (first time I tried a quote that way) - tried the next day - same error. I got two ticket numbers complaining thru the chat, left 2 voicemails with Derek from Rocket Insurance - nothing nada, nix. No call, no email.
Not a trustworthy response!
