Avoid this Mosquito screen - it just doesn't work.

Despite following the measuring instructions to the letter, we were left with a 1.5cm gap, so the blind couldn't sit in the space (max'd out the expansion capabilities). The instructions make it clear that Newblinds will support any problems you have with fitting the blind within 14 days of arrival - that help came in the form of an email telling us to 'put a bit of wood under it'.

We followed this 'botch' recommendation, maxed out the expansion of the screen brackets and managed to get it to just about hold in the space. However, the screen does not open without considerable effort. The retraction mechanism of the screen also doesn't always allow you to open it fully (keeps pinging back if you don't hold it!), defeating the object of the screen, and when we try to close it it doesn't release properly and comes out of the track and just flops around. We sat one evening thinking 'well perhaps the effort is worth it, but as we sat there the top of the screen sagged, leaving a gap, again not fit for purpose

It's flimsy, cheap and even if it did work, clearly isn't built to last more than one summer - my advice is to avoid.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you have had issues with the sizing of your door screen. I've taken some time to read the notes from your correspondence.

You are quite right that we offer measurement insurance on our roller fly screen orders and we would happily remake or trim the screen as required.

I think the issue here though, as explained by my colleague, is that your recess is very out of square in terms of the height. Meaning that if we extended the height of the cassette, when you pull the screen accross to the other side, the sliding bar would be too big for the smaller side of the aperture and wouldn't close.

The solution offered by my colleague would be to 'level out' this out-of-square with some sort of packing or baton. Unfortuately this is a practicality of installing a screen to an out of square recess, rather than a product issue.

In terms of the quality of the screen, we've been selling these for 3 years now, and whilst they are at a lower price point to our screw fit system, we've not encountered any issues with longeivity of the product. I have had a window screen installed in my own home for that period and it is still going strong.

I hope what I have said about the sizing makes sense. I will contact you directly by email, and perhaps you would be able to share with me some photos and more details of where you are up to, to see if there is a solution that we've not thought of as yet.

Straightforward Online Shopping

If I could give zero stars that’s what…

If I could give zero stars that’s what I’d do. I placed a tiny order online on 29/05/26 for mounting brackets that said in stock and 3-5 days for delivery. It’s now 18/06/26 and I’ve still not received the order. Five chased twice and haven’t been given so much as an excuse never mind an answer.
Completely unprofessional. No emphasis on customer satisfaction. No communication from the company. And no refund.

The brackets that you ordered were dispatched on the 1st June, which is the Monday after you placed your order on Friday PM. I will contact you directly with the tracking details.

I can see that you've been in touch with our customer services team via email and have explained that you have been let down by two other blind companies, hence needing the brackets urgently.

My colleague has explained that there was a delay in responding as she was absent from work due to illness.

I'd be more than happy to send out the brackets again, but please be assured that the brackets were sent the next working day after you placed your order.

I shall email you directly now and copy in my colleague since I am travelling with work today. But we will get this resolved for you asap one way or another.

Extremely disappointed

Extremely disappointed, ordered samples and never received them. After contacting by email I was advised they will be resent yet still nothing arrived. So glad I haven’t ordered actual blinds. A business which doesn’t have a direct contact number to raise enquiries is a red flag. I understand why they choose not to allow customers to contact them via phone rather through email, to avoid having to explain their incompetency.

WORSTBLINDS

WORSTBLINDS. Only wanted a spare part. Asked if they could use a cheaper mail service like Royal Mail but no had to be courier. They lied and sent it Royal Mail & second class after waiting almost 2 months without contact. Place order 21/4 received 13/06.

Added info. Contact was originally made when you advertised 3 units on ebay for sale (IN STOCK) regarding postage charges - There was NO mention they were out of stock on your web site, ebay or on my confirmation. I have proof with my confirmation dated 21st. Pity you can not just admit the mistake and next time keep your customers informed and give option to buy from someone whom has the stock. Would also be nice not to be over charged for postage RM48 doesnt cost £8 more like £3

I have checked our customer service inbox.

The only message we have from you is one from 1st December 2025 asking if we had the disposable battery holder by somfy in stock.

We confirmed at that time that it was out of stock.

It has also been listed as 'out of stock until further notice' on our website since then.

However, you placed an order on 21st April.

The product was dispatched to you, as soon as received back in stock.

I cannot see any record of any contact about the choice of delivery method.

Our Somfy accessories are held with a logistics provider who ships using Royal Mail or Fed Ex depending on the size of the item. And the delivery charge is a standard amount for orders under £150.

I appreciate your disappointment that the item took a long time to arrive. But as mentioned it was stated that the product was out of stock both on the website and in response to your original email.

Sliding mesh fly blind for patio doors

Newblinds were great from start to finish.
Sent them a measurement of our recessed opening to purchase a sliding door mesh fly unit.
It came exactly as ordered with white powdercoated aluminium casing which blended in perfectly with our pvc doors.
Keeps our room cool and fly free.
Was easily fitted and was exactly fit as per our measurements.

Initially great but…

The product itself is great, but the after-sales support has been disappointing. After misplacing the fixing brackets, caps, and screws etc when moving the blind to another room, I contacted customer service for replacements as they still sell this exact same blind. Initially, they said they would check with the warehouse and get back to me with a price. However, after waiting three weeks with no update, I followed up again by email. It’s now been four weeks in total, and I still haven’t received a response.

Not great all round

Delivery was painfully slow. From the date of order to the delivery of the blinds took precisely one calendar month, 13th April ordered, 13th May delivered.
The original order acknowledgement email stated that, "Delivery times for each of our products are stated on the product page. Please note that all delivery times are quoted in *working days*. We politely ask that you do not call to query the delivery of your order before the due date." The product page stated that delivery would be in "10 to 12 working days" when it actually took 22 working days. I sent a polite email after 15 working days and got a reply the following day stating that the customer service department would check with the Factory Manager to get a delivery update. I was then told that delivery would be on Friday 8th May - nothing arrived. I emailed again that day, and then again on Monday 11th and eventually got a response blaming a delivery company error. The blinds finally arrived two days later. The blinds themselves - absolutely fine. Dimensions are perfect and the blinds look great. The only other bugbear is that the blinds arrived without any form of installation instruction whatsoever, not even a link to a video. I did manage to find a video on the manufacturers (Somfy) website and installation was straightforward after following that. However, I emailed as soon as I unpacked the blinds to say that there are no installation instructions - and that email was sent over two hours ago and I've not had any response. I did try telephoning the number on the website but that does not allow you to actually speak to anyone and refers you to contact customer services by email.
In conclusion, blinds are fine, customer service is poor.
