I’ve had a very positive experience…

I’ve had a very positive experience with New Law Business Model and the Personal Family Lawyer® systems. The model itself is top-notch — thoughtfully designed, values-driven, and incredibly comprehensive. The training is practical and relevant, the support team is responsive, and the attorney community is extremely collaborative and generous. I genuinely feel equipped to build a modern, client-centered estate planning practice because of the systems they’ve created and the generosity of the community.

I also appreciate that the organization listens. They actively seek feedback and make real efforts to respond to what the community needs, which says a lot about their leadership and long-term vision.

Like many innovative companies, they’ve taken ambitious steps to develop new technology intended to replace multiple outside platforms. While the vision is strong, that product rollout appears to still be evolving, and I’m hopeful to see continued refinement there.

Overall, I’m really happy with NLBM and believe that this has been a meaningful investment in my firm, and I value being part of a community that is committed to serving families well and continually improving.

Thank you for such a thoughtful and balanced reflection.

We’re glad you’ve felt the strength of the model, the training, and especially the community. That collaborative environment and shared commitment to serving families well is something we’re very intentional about building.

And we hear you on the tech. You’re right—we’ve taken on a big vision to create an all-in-one system, and with that comes ongoing refinement. Feedback like yours is exactly what helps us continue to improve and make it better for everyone using it day-to-day.

This is a great snapshot of what we aim for: a values-driven model, strong support, and a community of attorneys who are actively growing and evolving together.

Grateful to have you as part of it!

This company changed my entire law career!

I began my journey with New Law Business Model over six years ago, and I can tell you their program has changed my law practice and my life! After being stuck in a family law career for two decades, they helped me not only with the resources, but the training to make the leap over to having a thriving estate planning practice. At any given time on any given day there are live trainings with topics ranging from estate planning to attracting new clients to selling your law practice. If you can’t find help on any particular topic, you’re not looking. We absolutely love our practice now and look forward to our continued partnership with NLBM.

Highly recommend the NBLM

NLBM is a great program that has changed my career. I used to be a litigation attorney and now practice in estate planning. It is a comprehensive course that teaches a system that helps secure clients and focuses on the clients' and families' needs in order to keep them out of court and out of conflict. Ali Katz was kind enough to sit down with me at a conference to help me work through some issues and questions I was having. She did not have to do that, as she has people she hires to handle those things for her, but she did it because she truly cares and loves what she does.

Thank you so much for this share, Amy.

Making the transition from litigation to estate planning is no small thing, and I’m so honored that NewLaw got to support you in that shift.

This work is deeply personal to me, and I really do care about each attorney building a practice they love, serving families in meaningful ways.

I’m also so glad we had that time to connect in person. Those conversations are some of my favorite moments.

So grateful you’re part of this community—and I’m cheering you on as you continue to grow and serve.

With appreciation,
Ali

New Law Business Model gave me everything I needed to start my law practice with confidence. From the very beginning, their step-by-step resources, templates, and systems took the guesswork out of building my business. They truly care about your success, both professionally and personally. The community of lawyers here is unlike anything else. I’ve made lifelong friends who continue to inspire and support me. High Cost, Limited Value, Unproven Sustainable Framework

I’m sharing this as a former employee of a firm that participated in NLBM and the AGM program. With 15 years in HR Tech and operations—building Customer Success teams and leading organizational strategy—I was responsible for evaluating and executing the operational model inside a member firm.

Based on my experience, the value of the program is far more limited than the messaging suggests. While the materials may help attorneys brand-new to Estate Planning, the same foundational knowledge is widely available at a much lower cost. The cost-to-value ratio became increasingly difficult to justify.

A core concern for me was the lack of proof of concept. I did not see the type of operational rigor that should underpin a business model marketed as a comprehensive, strategic approach. There was no capacity modeling, no staffing forecasts, no client journey mapping, and no data-driven analysis demonstrating that the model is sustainable at scale. Without this foundation, it was challenging to understand how the program’s recommendations support long-term firm growth.

The business model itself is heavily attorney-centric. It emphasizes delegating non-legal tasks to staff, raising prices to cover that structure, and positioning this as a “holistic” client experience. From what I observed, the actual added value to clients or staff did not align with the significant price increases the model encourages.

Many attorneys join NLBM because they’re seeking strong operational guidance. In my view, the coaching team did not consistently demonstrate the depth of business or operational expertise required to provide that guidance. Coaching can be valuable for personal development, but sustainable business growth requires consultants with specialized operational backgrounds—expertise that I did not consistently see delivered.

NLBM also promotes a list of preferred vendors. In our firm’s experience, several of these partnerships did not deliver the level of service or outcomes we expected. When we raised concerns, the responses often felt more like reframing or redirecting rather than meaningfully addressing the issues. This made it difficult to resolve challenges.

This review reflects my professional assessment and firsthand experience. I hope it helps firms make informed decisions about the type of support that will genuinely advance their business.

*My original review was submitted in September but removed after NLBM flagged my review. Since then there have been a number of new 5.0 reviews submitted.

Reply from New Law Business Model

Kristy, thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed review. We hear the professional experience you’re bringing to this, and we want to respond clearly to the specific points you raised so readers can understand what our programs are — and what they are not.

Cost, value, and who the program is for:
Our work is not designed as a low-cost education product or content library. It is an implementation-based operating system for estate planning firms that want to move beyond founder-dependent practices. While some concepts may feel familiar to experienced operators, the value lies in how strategy, pricing, staffing, delivery, leadership, and client experience are integrated and implemented inside real firms with real constraints. For firms not seeking that level of integration or hands-on execution, the investment may not feel aligned.

Proof of concept and operational rigor:
Operational rigor is core to our methodology. In our Advanced Growth Mastermind (AGM) program, firms work across CEO (typically the attorney), COO, CFO, and CMO tracks, with applied work in capacity planning, staffing design, financial modeling, pricing strategy, client journey mapping, and performance tracking. These tools are intentionally built for small-to-mid-sized professional service firms, where regulatory environments and growth realities differ from enterprise models. The goal is sustainable growth without sacrificing client trust or team health.

It’s also important to note that this perspective reflects a single firm and a specific employment experience. You were brought in to support operational alignment within that firm; the circumstances surrounding the conclusion of that role are separate, and the firm has continued to make progress toward operational alignment beyond your tenure.

Attorney-centricity and pricing:
Our model is not about pushing work onto staff or raising prices for the sake of margin. It is about building firms that are not dependent on a single attorney’s capacity. This includes investing in leadership, training non-attorney team members, clarifying roles, improving delivery systems, and aligning pricing with the actual experience being delivered. Pricing changes are intended to support better service, healthier teams, and long-term viability — not simply overhead.

Depth of operational guidance:
Many attorneys come to us because they were never taught how to run a business. Our role is to meet them where they are and provide structured frameworks that reduce costly trial and error. AGM is not personal-development coaching presented as business strategy. It includes experienced operators across finance, operations, marketing, and leadership with a strong focus on execution. We also recognize that our approach will not be the right fit for every firm.

Vendors:
With more than 800 firms nationwide, no single vendor will be right for every practice, and preferred vendors are not mandates — they are options that have delivered results for many members. Vendors actively market to firms in this space, and we encourage members to involve their coaching team when evaluating any vendor so fit and expectations can be assessed early. When issues arise, we help firms evaluate outcomes, course-correct, and make informed decisions. We reassess partnerships based on feedback and results and take concerns about ethics or service quality seriously.

Fit overall:
Firms should choose support that aligns with their goals and how they want to grow. Some leaders prefer generic consulting or attorney-centric coaching. Our work is designed for firms that want an integrated framework balancing data, leadership, client trust, and sustainable execution across the entire firm. We encourage prospective members to evaluate any program based on the kind of firm they want to build.

Thank you again for sharing your perspective.

Strong Company with Great Career Pivot Platform

New Law Business Model made it possible to make a substantial pivot to estate planning midway through my career. The organization provided me with the education, mentoring and structure needed to learn a new area of the law while in my previous job, open my own firm, and start to develop a book of business. You can tell that NLBM representatives really care about your success. I am not in a season of life for which owning my own business makes sense for me at the moment but I would continue to be with NLBM otherwise.

A fan for life

I have worked with and been a client of NewLaw for coming up on two years. I count many of the staff and leadership as friends now. I am a fan for life because I found my people: heart-centered, relational lawyers (and the entire NewLaw crew) who are sincere when they say that they’re here to empower clients to make the best legal decisions for themselves and their families.

Improvement in 6 months with NLBM

I’ve been a member of the New Law Business Model for six months, and in that short time, I’ve experienced a complete transformation in my law practice. Before joining, I was struggling to attract the right clients, working too many hours, and not feeling truly fulfilled in my work. That’s all changed.

Since implementing the strategies and systems taught by NLBM, I’ve made a meaningful shift:

I'm now consistently working with clients who align with my values and whom I truly enjoy serving.

I’m receiving higher fees that reflect the real value of my services.

I’ve regained a sense of purpose in my practice, and I’m genuinely enjoying the work again.

Perhaps most importantly, I’m managing my time far more effectively, creating space for both professional growth and personal well-being.

I have been using this model now for 8 years! It is beyond top notch in my opinion. I was a nurse for 30 years and then decided to go to law school. NLBM helped me learn how to do advanced estate planning, Elder Law, and just as important, how to actually be a business owner and have a successful practice that I love, my team loves and my clients love! Grateful

Joining new law was a huge financial decision for me. I joined 11 months ago (and will be renewing my annual membership) because I was impressed with the high energy of Ali and her team. I am a fully remote, RV traveling Attorney and am 100% pleased with the program, the staff and coaches, and the results. Changing practice areas (from divorce litigation) requires hard work but that has been enjoyable for me and a part of truly falling in love with the law again. They guarantee that you will make as much as you invest in your first year or they’ll keep working with you until you make that money back. Needless to say, I will not be availing myself of that offer because I have more than made-back my investment and I’m on track to have most lucrative years of my 20+ years practicing law.

New Law changed my life

New Law changed my life. I have the ability to travel and help my family, while at the same time helping my community.

The information they provide is great -- but the support is second to none. I never could have been successful if it wasn't for New Law -- let alone the colleagues I have met that help support and encourage me daily.

Do the work, go to the calls, reach out for support -- and there's no reason you won't succeed.

Finally, I feel like I'm always at the forefront of learning what's happening in other states and how they may affect my clients, which makes me a better resource not just for my clients, but the community as a whole. The education and support is constantly evolving and gets better and better.

One of the best decisions of my life.

NLBM is Life Changing...I had zero experience with trusts and estates and petrified of making a mistake. I am learning as I am doing, and the level of support is unbelievable. I love Ali, Allison, Arielle, Kim, and all the support groups and other members that are constantly giving of their time. I am sure I left off 1000 people such as Julie, Sharesa, Irene, Yashaa, AJ, Nicole, Michael, Antreas, Noelle, and so many others. It is what you make of it and it is hard work to learn a new area. NLBM is World Class

We have been with NLBM for 6-months now and have been beyond amazed at how much value NLBM provides. The ecosystem of information is exhaustive and the entire team is extremely high caliber and supportive. It's like having an entire support team in your corner (and on call) at all times to help you grow. There are numerous calls Every week covering a variety of topics that help you create a well-rounded business that sets you apart from other firms. The entire team is extremely cohesive and aligned in going above and beyond to help you grow. Ali is personally on many of the calls giving world class guidance that has helped us build a law practice we couldn't imagine doing without the NLBM team and ecosystem. The journey with NLBM has wildly exceeded our expectations and highly recommend every aspect of NLBM.

Extremely grateful

I have been with NLBM for more than 8 years and could not be more grateful to have found this beautiful group of lawyers. The systems and resources are abundant; the coaches and the support are stellar. But the most important benefit is the community of lawyers that have enhanced my practice by not only mentoring and lending their substantive knowledge, but their willingness to help with no strings attached. I love the lawyers in this community, and this is something Ali Katz has built from the ground up. I do not know where I would be without the guidance and support of this wonderful program.

New Law Business Model Changed My Life and Law Practice

My experience with New Law Business Model (NLBM) and its visionary founder, Ali Katz, has been nothing short of transformational. Before NLBM, I was burned out and questioning whether I even wanted to continue practicing law. Today, I have a law practice that I love again, and for that, I am deeply grateful.

What sets NLBM apart isn’t just the powerful systems and tools they teach, it’s the heart behind it all. Ali and her team genuinely care. The coaches have worked closely with me, not just on the “business” side, but on breaking through the mindset blocks that were keeping me stuck. They’re helping me build not just a more sustainable practice, but a more fulfilling life.

I’ll be the first to admit…I’m not their “perfect” student. I haven’t reached the level of outward success I originally envisioned, but that’s on me, not them. NLBM provided everything I needed to thrive. I just needed to get out of my own way. And thanks to their continued support, I’m doing exactly that.

The NLBM community feels like a family. The other attorneys are collaborative, kind, and aligned in wanting to create impact through their work, not just income. If you’re looking for a better way to practice law, a way that aligns with your values and gives you your life back, NLBM is it.

Ali, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You and your team have reignited my purpose, and I’ll never forget it.
