Very difficult to communicate with then added huge interest rates and charges after continually telling me someone will be in touch. I will never use this company again and would advise against using them.

Me and my wife bought an expensive gift using newpay. We had used them before with no issues so we didn't think there would be any this time. We agreed the monthly cost and direct debit date etc and made the purchase. They took the 1st direct debit no problem, the 2nd direct debit they tried to take a couple of days early and as we have a certain account that is only used for our direct debits we hadn't transfered the money over yet as it wasn't due so it was a returned direct debit. The 3rd month they took the direct debit on the correct date no issues but then the same thing happened on the 4th month, they tried early and we hadn't transfered it over as it wasn't due. They then canceled our direct debit so my wife who suffers with learning difficulties starting paying manually every month on the app. Fast forward a year I asked my wife how much was left on the balance and she told me it wasn't much less than the original purchase. I didn't understand how that could be as the original purchase was £2700 and we had been paying £80 a month so that balance should have been around £1740. After looking further into this i see on my wife's app that they had cancelled our original credit agreement due to the to missed direct debit towards the beginning, which they tried to take before the agreed date might i add or they would have never been missed. And out of the £80 a month we have been paying they have been taking nearly £60 of it for interest and only £20 of it off the balance. Meaning what should have been a 3 year term is now going to take us years and years as my wife can no longer work due to having a pacemaker fitted, fluid on the brain and fybromyalgia. We have 2 kids and are living of just my wage.

Good evening I have tried to contact Newpay since Saturday. I applied for a mobile contract only to be declined, presuming as my maiden name was on my bank details. This has now been rectified. I was told to reapply by the mobile provider, only to take my money again to be verified. Take my money and straight away say I’ve been declined as I have already tried. This is ridiculous. Please can someone get back to me.
I have tried to call this morning to dispute being declined, as it states you can - only to find I can't speak to anyone as it asks for an accounts number!!! Which I don't have!!!
Still waiting a response? I submitted my info as requested. Can someone get back to me?

I recently took out finance through Newpay for a training course. My experience has been disappointing due to unclear communication about the monthly payment schedule.
My first monthly statement clearly showed “Payment Requested: £38.47”, so I paid this amount by the due date. There was no repayment schedule or instalment amount provided to me in writing after signing the credit agreement. Because of this, I had no way to know that the actual instalment was around £136.
Despite paying the amount Newpay requested on their own statement, my promotional rate was removed and I was charged £204 interest in one month, along with a late fee, and my account was suspended. I was then told to pay more than £200 the following month to bring the account back in order.
This situation was caused by unclear communication, not by refusing to pay. If the instalment amount had been provided in a durable format (email/PDF) as required, I would have paid the correct amount from the start. Instead, I relied on the only written information available – the statement showing £38.47.
I have raised a formal complaint and hope Newpay resolves this fairly by refunding the interest and reinstating the instalment plan. I’m now warning other customers to make sure you receive your repayment schedule in writing before relying on the monthly statements.
I believe financial providers should clearly show the correct instalment amount on the first statement to avoid this confusion.

Double check the details before signing any credit agreement. I ordered a kitchen worktop and the only reason I chose this particular supplier was because they offered the terms of balance of purchase on 0%. When I applied for the credit with Newpay, the initial application showed 3 options, one being 0%, another being 17.95% and another being 24.9%. I wasn't able to chose but guess what I was ONLY approved for the 24.9%. I can't believe this was anything to do with my credit rating as both on Experian and CreditKarma, I have an Excellent rating. I called the telephone number and apparently "the system" decides and there's no-one who can help. Anyone smell something fishy - I do.

NewPay still haven't replied to my complaint or dispute. This is despite then replying saying a "specialist team would contact me"
I am still moving forward with my complaint to the FCA as this company refuses to offer buyer protection or call customers back when promised.

Another credit card provider that will do anything to stitch you up. A credit card based on emails! You buy something on credit, 3 instalments free interest but they don’t set up a direct debit for your payments. Wait until the first deadline comes and then you have to pay all sorts of charges. Crooks all the way, you would have thought these Sky Channels credit cards 90-100% interest have disappeared! Still here, watch out you have been warned! Stay well away! Crooks!

Newpay sends me emails, saying there is important information sent to my inbox, so I go to read it, and get a message saying "This account is not eligible for Online Account Manager. Please contact us for any queries." How stupid. Non-existent customer service also.

Used recently when buying kitchen worktops, really easy and stress free to set up. I liked that you could set up a manageable monthly amount but also overpay if you wanted. The only issue I've had is trying to close the account now it's paid off.
