The new sport section is a joke

The new sport section is a joke. Sad decline. Remember the talented Red Smith and his well constructed articles. Now it is all AI and the very limited info is at least two days late. I will cancel my subscription. Very sad decline.

Missed Potential

They make really fun word games that have a lot of potential, but they never lean into that potential. For example, why can't I see how I compare to the rest of the world in Wordle? Why can't I see my connections stats?

SCAM: NYT pocketing 3 years of duplicate charges citing 'policy' only allows for reimbursement of 2 cycles

I have been an online NYT subscriber for 3.5 years and discovered recently that I have been been billed by the NYT for a duplicate subscription for almost 3 years of that time. I only discovered the double-billing accidentally when going through my bank transactions with a fine-tooth comb. After investigating, I discovered that at some point when renewing what I thought was supposed to be an annual subscription, I used my Iphone which created the duplicate account through Apple using a relay email address. When I brought this to the attention of customer service, I was told that their policy only allowed a refund of the last 2 billing cycles (out of 3 years). I escalated to the billing department who came back with the same claim accompanied by a condescending paragraph about how to use the private relay email feature with links to apple support and the NYT Terms of Sale. Legally, I have no doubt I am screwed - I am just shocked that they would be cheap as to exploit a technical loophole that allowed the creation of a duplicate account and pass on the cost to the consumer. Further, that they would be so extraordinarily unhelpful as to cite their policy in the process of defrauding a loyal subscriber of 3.5 years.... and so shortsighted. I value the content and the journalism, but not enough to tolerate this bs.

Scam Subscription business model

Scam Subscription business model. Shame on an otherwise great newspaper. Like the other members on here, I had the free trial in 2021. I canceled it yet getting charged since. Customer service is silent, no replies at all.

... a scam.

Distorted and Biased Reporting

Distorted reporting by biased reporters. Sometimes, under pressure, “corrections” are published but oftentimes they are not. I just saw that a correspondent in Gaza has a history of praising hitler yet is permitted to report on the conflict there. If this isn’t irresponsible journalism I don’t know what is.

Customer Care : Pass the Buck !

I have been a subscriber for 10 years to your Sunday paper édition and daily News récap sent via e-mail. 3 months ago, My email address was blocked so I no longer received the daily News reap via e-mail. I called in April/May to complain about thé problem. Your customer care assistant said he would restore thé service. After a month, I was still not receiving the letter. In June U called again. Thé assistant said she would rectifie my the problem. Once again nothing changed. Today, I called again. Once again , thé assistant said he would rectify the problem! I then asked, is there a way I can see this subscription on the NY Times. Thé assistant could not answer. So. I asked for a supervisor. Thé supervisor then asked thé name of the daily newsletter I was no longer receiving. I did not know the name, as I had been receiving It for 10 years without any problem. Finally, I realized that there were many newsletters and review the list to see which one It was. I have now checked one that seems to be thé correct. Why this newsletter had been un checked I do not know ??
In conclusion, why is It up to thé End user to know your many options. Your customer service should be better trained !!!

Buyer beware

Buyer beware. This subscription was not worth it to me. If you love crosswords you may love it. I actually bought it for all the other games. They did not make it clear the past games for all the other games aren't included only past crosswords, I missed it. They will not refund your money. It makes no sense to make someone pay for something they dont want.
Terrible customer service, they do not respond to your emails.

Newspaper subscription rip off

I am so sick of newspapers making it impossible to deal with customer care and subscriptions. I have written to the NYT by email at least twice. They continue to take money from my account but do not deliver to my inbox, this has been going on for a few months. I only hear from them when they want me to upgrade..upgrade what? Since they are not delivering anything this makes no sense… They take from my account at the bank of Ireland, Belmullet, Mayo. Ireland. I am not incurring expenses by calling them.

Zero (!) free articles even without ad block

Never read an online article of them until today. Well, at least I tried but got a prompt that I've "reached the maximum amount of free articles read" and need to pay for that article.
So I can read zero free articles... Even without an ad block ... Guess I won't read anything from them then

The New York Times FRAUDULENTLY CHARGED…

The New York Times FRAUDULENTLY CHARGED my account a year after I had a free-trial. I CANCELLED free-trial on time but, suddenly, a year later, there are ONE YEAR'S WORTH of CHARGES ENTERED ALL AT ONCE. Fortunately, I had the charges reversed BUT now I am getting emails stating I need to update my credit card details. I have responded telling them to lose my email address but I still get these emails. It's like a VIRUS that won't go away.

For international

For international, Asian readers this paper helped me learn English, Western culture, and learnt a lot of science although they restrict how many pages as free subscriber. Pretty good source of esoteric troves of information!

UNACCEPTABLE!!!!

UNACCEPTABLE!!!!! i have been subscribed to NY Times for quite some time, and what i eventually noticed that my subscription plan is constantly going up. instead of creating a new account and signing up for 0.50 cents per week, i decided to contact the customer service for clarification and trying to bring my subscription rate to what i have paid before. long story short - i get promised a refund which in the end i never received. this year same thing all over again. i get charged 17$ a month instead of paying 8$. I got really upset. Contacted the customer service and got a pretty negative response that it is not possible bla bla! and then the guy just left the chart wishing me sarcastically a great day! not even answering my question. I TRIED TO EXPLAIN that i just got charged 2 days ago, i dont want it. cancel my subscription and refund me the balance. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. HOPE TO HEAR BACK FROM THE TOP MANAGEMENT!

Wow where to start

Wow where to start. I am not a pro trumper and I am a liberal voter who loves most of The content created by the New York Times.

This is not customer service. The NY Times is hiring people to barely help you while they do whatever it is they are doing in their homes.... I have called 5 times in a row just to speak to someone and I have been hung up on each time. This is INSANE. I will not be supporting the New York Times after this experience.
