Horrible company

Horrible company, horrible customer service. Every time I used it I have been charged more than I should, always had to call them to sort the problems. They blocked my account and even though on the phone they promised to sort this they never did, I called multiple times, they promised that I would be called soon by someone to fix this, which never happened. Horrible company.

Really poor service

Really poor service. I have been charged £5 multiple times to re-register for the pay as you go service. The customer service, which used to be good, is now awful both via phone and email. I used to love using this bike hire but think I would rather walk than face their technical issues and deal with to their poor service again.

Modern Theft Brought to You by Nextbike!

I usually use their bikes for 5 minutes each day, same journey and returns it to their assigned park.

A few days, ago I got a notification that one of the bikes has just returned - being active for 3 days. Now I haven't been noticed or made aware that during all this duration the bike was in use. I was puzzled as to how this happened so I looked up the gps and the bike hasn't moves from where I left it (my 4-min regular journey)

I was charged €17 just like that, I went on to report that and selected "return hasn't been registered" as it's the only explanation I saw fit. To this day, hasn't got a response from them.

I had this feeling they put you in bait and once they have your credentials, sooner or later they'd come up with a ridiculous made-up issue.

Modern Theft - brought to you by Nextbike!

A fraud is what it is

I cannot believe this scam. They hide important information and not even show it in their app.
I returned bike outside of station and was charged 20$. They never notified me, warned me or specified that I will be charged such a ridiculous fee. They could have easily checked and warned me by location that bike was outside of station. But intentionally they do not do this to steal your money and then use some hidden terms and conditions as justification. A total FRAUD.

I have had several dealings with their customer service team over the years. On the whole their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced from any organisations. Be prepared for this because once you join as a member they neglect you as a customer!

Used it while on vacation in Cyprus. Bike wasn’t really good.

The company website said that you can get the deposit back, but then I have tried to contact them several times. No replies at all, couldn’t even log in again with my phone number afterwards. Apparently that’s how they make money. 👎

Never again!

You will only waste your money! If you have a problem with a bike and call consumer support, they will never answer and they will charge you for their bad service!

WORST COMPANY AWARD

First year, great company. 12 months down line service shocking,, monies taken from my account without reason, customer service also Shocking (except for two members staff who were very helpful, other eight calls, three just put the phone on me. Other five must been first shift without training or product information.
I personally wouldn't use this company again, wish I had read the comments before joining... looks like lot folk in same boat...

Wasted time

App showed all 3 ticks to say the setup was complete but button to “complete setup” took you nowhere. No clue how to get past it. Caught in a loop. Helpline no help. This was my wife’s attempt to hire a bike. I’d already hired mine and wasted 1h trying to get hers to work. Ruined plans for the afternoon to cycle down to riverside museum.

App is pretty hopeless It will not let you login at certain times I do not know if I've been locked out for some reason or it's just faulty, tried to recover details and it still wouldn't work. Hanging around a car park for half hour furiously typing on my phone is not a good look..

Bikes can be rough and heavy except for the electric ones which are hard to find especially charged ones! It is an unreliable service and they should get some lighter bikes or just maintain them more . I do think the ebikes are ok though,😐

Charged even though their bike wouldn’t unlock

The lock wouldn’t open and I couldn’t end the session but they charged me £20. I’ve left multiple messages informing them including straight after and they still haven’t got back to me. The bikes are heavy too. Better off walking than getting ripped off

Terrible customer experience

Expensive, you can only ride in central areas and you get charged 20€ if you forget and park outside (in my case it's a very significant metro station and if you arrive from the left side and stop and you'll be charged, but if on the right side then its ok), they encourage to report problems through the app but then don't get to your complaint for a couple of weeks and charge you as if it was your responsibility, even on the phone you really must plead your case to have the money returned, literally zero consideration of customer experience, I honestly think it is run by evil people who only care about their profit and they can clearly barely make it, since they tell their agents they can ONLY refund a client if the client followed their processes perfectly (but you are not informed what is the process obviously).

Avoid. Wouldn’t touch their bike with a ten-foot pole.

Avoid. Just don’t use them, save yourself the hassles. In Glasgow, I rode a bike to a supermarket 5km away, temporarily parked outside. When I finished my shopping after half an hour, I found the bike gone. I was stranded without the bike, and was charged an additional £20 service fee fine. After spoken to customer service, they only offer me £10 in app credit for a service I seriously doubt I would ever trust to use again. Don’t use them unless somehow you think a £24/trip to your local supermarket is worth it.

Money back in 2 days

Had a problem with one bike. It wouldn't open, but was still charged. Send 1 message and 2 days later i got my money back. Good service. Would be 5, if they skip the little "tricks", like not really promoting one day passes, not letting one day passes expire without a clear warning etc etc..

They trick you into their perpetual membership

They trick you into buying their membership, then charge you perpetually without letting you notice.

I bought Nextbike's one-month membership for Dortmund, Germany. I thought it was a one month memberhsip. However, they charged me for the upcoming month without noticing me whatsoever. As soon as I found out (within 24 hours of deduction), I asked for a refund, but they did not grant, claiming that it is a breach of their refund policy.

What kind of policy is that?? If everything that doesn't make sense is written as so-called policy, should we consumers just take as is??

This is ruining the whole biking experience. Not to say the app is not the most user-friendly one, nor were the bikes comfortable. They gave me a knee pain after a short ride. Never happened with regular bikes.

Would also leave zero stars if…

Would also leave zero stars if possible.
Despite the many teething problems Nextbike had in Cardiff I stuck with them as they're a cheap, healthier alternative to taxis.
Got stung last night for £20 for apparently not returning an ebike to an ebike station. They tell me that it was rented from a non-ebike station. How is this possible then?? There was no message displayed through the app when renting or returning the bike about these potential extra charges. It wasn't until I was in bed that I was notified through the app that I'd been charged £20 and sure enough it was debited immediately from my bank account. I called them to complain and the lad told me it would be refunded in full. This morning, however, a lady from customer service emailed to tell me that only half would be refunded after 1 - 2 weeks! She even had the nerve to tell me that I should have checked my email to make sure I was aware of all the ebike charges! At 9pm. On a Friday night.
This will be going to small claims as this sort of behaviour has no place in our city.
Avoid Nextbike/Ovobike or whatever they're calling themselves at all costs, your bank balance and stress levels will thank you for it!
