Do not rent from this company

On December 31, 2024, I rent a car from this company to return the car on January 3, 2025. I had paid the rent online on December 7, 2024. When I get to the store on 10200 Calle Celestial Marginal, Los Angeles Lote B, Carolina, PR 00979 I got a surprise charge of $543.00 mind you I already $334 for the rental from those $534, $250 is the deposit. This company apparently includes shuttle No liars the charge you $49 convenience charge for the shuttle and more charges that other companies don't. Now the issue is I return this car on Jan 3 as of today Feb 7 I have not received my deposit back all they do is give me the round around, before I left Puerto Rico I call the company and ask about it the stated is 15 from the day I return the car which they told me I return my car Jan 5 . I told them that my car was return Jan 3 around 1:00 P.M and the person I spoke to said that my rental was still open, and no one had initiated to close my rental that he will start right now and allow them to 5 to 15 business day business day no weekend or holiday my return should've been on my bank account on Jan 28. On Jan 28 I call again this company and a female agent I spoke to said that indeed the 15 business days has passed, and they have to open a claim so finances can release my deposit. Now I gave them the week I call today and the male agent I spoke to stated that I got to give it more time because they have to many claims and I need to allow them more than a week for them to work on my claim he didn't even wanted to look at my confirmation booking I had to ask him to check because he didn't want to check my claim and to stated without even typing that he had found my claim and apparently my deposit is already pending but without a date that it will be send .Now please carefully consider renting from this company because is not worth the headache and you don't want to be Suprise with a higher charge when you go to pick up your car. Also there is no email or phone number to speak directly to finances or whatever team that is working on claim I didn't even had a claim number to know for a fact that I really had a claim and that the money will return to me.

I will put no star if I could

I will put no star if I could. My reservation made many days before my trip ended with no car after 1:30 of wait and stupid questions and similitudes searches on their computer. Finally asking insurances as I was full covered and that triple the price I had on line with their website. AVOID AVOID. We had the chance to leave and go close to FOX.

Have been standing in line for over an…

Have been standing in line for over an hour. They have only served 3 customers. It seems like they get you here and refuse to serve you so you go to one of the other companies in the building( most of which we’ve never heard of). They charge 4-12 times as much but you’re stuck here. Pro all the same company. 4th person just went up. One hour and fifteen minutes now. People keep going to the desk from outside and angrily complain to desk operator. Seems like no one is satisfied.

Dishonesty

After waiting in line for three hours with two jetlagged children my wife and I were told that since it was high season our deposit would be US$2,500 plus addons for car rental. They said the contract with Expedia allowed them to do this. Caught between a rock and a hard place, I swiped my card for the additional charges. We had also noticed other people leaving empty handed so I can only assume we were not the only persons told this. My wife then said we should not take the vehicle, so i asked the counter clerk to reverse the charges. I was willing to forego the prior sum paid to the company through Expedia, taking it as a lesson and a loss. The clerk at the counter said we would get an email confirming the reversal of charges within minutes. Up to the time we left in an Uber some half hour later the email didn't come. In fact even after my return to Trinidad, the charges remained on my credit card for some three weeks until they fell off. This drastically lowered the amount of US I could spend during the trip and had us searching for a new vehicle and the standard deposit. All in all this was the worst experience ever and with the grungy looking office, underpaid and overworked staff and poor customer service I think it very brave of Next car to even ask for customer feedback. I can assure you. NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!

Surprise $2,500 hold on your account when you go to pick the car up. And the way they make you sign tells me they are going to lock you in legally and suck every penny out of you. Super scammy, don't let this company waste your time and money.

They have a infinite amount of hidden fees, they charge you for things they are not suppose to charge you for and when you try to fix their mistakes they make it impossible for you to get anywhere. I'm saving you headaches, multiple phones calls and money by telling you DO NOT RENT A CAR WITH THEM.

worst experience ever they are a fake and a fraud!!!

If I can give a negative 5 stars I would, this had to had been the worst experience even with a rental company!! I truly would never recommend this company to anyone!! I rented a 12 passenger to go on an amazing trip with my family from Miami to Georgia, HA, big surprise for me after waiting over 3 hours in line(only 4 people in front of me) to get a rental I come to find out that I can't leave out of Florida and if I do I will get charged a fine of 1000 plus .25 cents a mile out of Florida!!! This company is a big scam!! So many people were upset that day!! When you reserve on online it notes that its unlimited miles, HA again big surprise when you get to the counter yeah the lady was like no it's only 50 miles per days! ARE YOUR SERIOUS, who in there right mind would rent a car to only travel 50 miles a day so unrealistic!!!

Only it states that a deposit has to be made or 500 to 1000 per car rental but when I got to the counter the lady charged us $2,500 dollars as a deposit!! My goal was to get out of there at this point I was so heart broken because I wasn't sure if I was able to give my kids the trip I planned!! This lady at the counter started screaming at me and telling me there is nothing that can be done that she was going to cancel my reservation if I didn't stop questioning her!! I was being forced to use there SunPass and I have my own SunPass I was forced to get the company insurance when I have a full coverage insurance for rentals, this was overall the worst experience ever!! I know someone is going to read this and nothing will be done because that is how all these corporate companies work. And thats just what i have one the buisness standpoint, the vehicle looked in great condition, but the rear view camera did not work for most of the trip. We advised the counter lady so i hope she reported that. Worked for one time when I get home to pick up my luggage. After that it did not work at all. This was not a sedan i rented, this is the big 14 passenger ford transit 350 xlt. one of the biggest in your fleet. Van also seems like it needs a new hub bearing because it makes a loud humming noise when on the highway. Thought it was the tires but they seem to be brand new. This is very unfortunate because I on many occasions use car rental companies to take the family on trips, always trying to find a better deal, and I thought I did with you guys. But one headache after another and fees here fees there! I hope i receive my full (astronomical) deposit back because at this point I am not even sure Ill get that back!!

DO NOT RENT. IT'S A SCAM

When we arrived the wait line to get your car was close to 3 hours. There were only 3 employees and 45 people waiting to be taken care off with their pre existing reservations. After 45 minutes of only 4 people taken care off we decided to leave, and asked for a reimbursement, which we did not get.

Our reservation was at noon, and just for context, at 1 PM the people who arrived at 1010 AM had just been called.

Total Scam

Be aware you can't drive the car out of state they won't tell you this untill you are picking up the car so if you need to drive out of state you will screwed so you would have to cancell and they wont refund but about 25% of the rental money total rip off they charged me 300 dollars even thou I could not use the car worst rental company ever make sure you rent trough a major rental company we got stock at 3:00AM outside the airport in florida had to get an uber to take us to the hotel and go back to the Airport the next day and pay 12 hundred dollars for a car for 12 days ended up paying 1500.00 dollars in car rental because I wanted to rent a cheap car and fell for their scam.

Declined confirmed reservation and refuse to give car

Finally came back from my vacation and have time to write about my experience with Nextcar.... I booked my car from the website in Nice and when I reached there the building was locked and there is no one to make u enter...after waiting for 45 mins I tailgated someone to enter the building and nextcar executive came down from 7th floor and told me that they cannot find my booking.... I showed them the email I gave them confirmation number and everything... The reply I got is"Sir sometimes this happens"... so on 28th Dec when I didn;t get my car the next car employee Jasmine told me that I am booking another car for u starting 29th Dec (Next day)... So I went back next day as promised but now Jasmine has left the Nice office and the representative now told me he can again not be able to give my car as Jasmine messed up my booking and there is no car for me..... last minute I was not able to find any car because everything else was booked.... my entire vacation was ruined bcoz of this unreliable company..... please do not use them.....

Worst car rental experience

Horrible experience!!

We started by waiting about 90 minutes for a shuttle to next car. They promised a shuttle came every 15 minutes, but that wasn’t the case. We saw several other rental car company shuttles come multiple times, but no sign of next car.

Eventually when it came, there were so many people waiting for next car at that point that my family barely fit into the shuttle. their shuttle was disgusting, with half finished water bottles and gum wrappers everywhere. The driver did not speak any English.

When we got to next car (located in an unsafe area, would not take children there after dark) .we waited 3 hours in line to get serviced. Their representatives were not busy at all, and were artificially taking extra time for no reason. Many were on their phones and were making chit chat while several customers were clearly waiting to be serviced. before we got to the front, we saw several other unhappy customers yelling at the representatives complaining that a bunch of unadded up charges were added or that the car that they wanted was given away by nextcar because they were “late”, even though their own shuttle caused and extra hour of delay.

When we finally got to the front nextcar informed us that we were late (once again, primarily because their shuttle was an hour late), we would have to pay an extra 200 dollars for another car. The representative was unhelpful, rude, and barely spoke English. We declined the car, and had to push her to give us a confirmation of cancellation. I think that if we did not push her to confirm our cancellation, they would have charged our card for nothing.

Overall, I do not know how such a scam operates in America. It operates solely on putting travelers in desperate, time consuming scenarios and then overcharging via hidden fees and lies once the customer is finally serviced. I have seen far friendlier employees and better business practices in third world countries.

We booked on Dec 25, 2024 from MIA airport for 3 days. PICK UP time 10.30 AM
They had no office in MIA airport. Waited there from 10.00 and another company one switch picked up after 40 mins wait. They took us to their office around 11.00 AM

After being in queue for over 30 mins, we realized they were not offering any cars to any of the customers. Only one lady at front desk with minimal knowledge of English). After 30 mins, a rude man(probably their bouncer/goon) said no cars for you since u are late 20 min. We said we are here waiting 20 min and no help . We realized its fraud since they did not offer any cars to anyone in queue

One customer was asked $2000 deposit . Another customer called the police . Police was of no help to them either.

All of us around a dozen in queue left back to MIA airport using UBER. Only company that had cars was AVIS and they helped with some cars to all of us even though we paid lot higher rates.

The vacation was a spoiled one-- became a tragedy, travelling with 2 young kids without food. Since it was christmas day, not much inventory was available. Luckly we got an SUV after waiting in long queue by end of day , starving and almost fatigued.

SCAM SCAM SCAM

What a SCAM this place is. Prepaid for a 4 day rental three months in advance. Kid was sick the morning I was to pick up and was a couple of hours late. No empathy at all for my situation.

They gave my car away, had no other options for me, and kept all 4 days rental. No refund, no offer for a future rental, nothing.

We couldnt be at 9 am due to an overbooked flight and the manager of Next Green (one switch) didn't give me the auto i booked for 3 days. I called an agent of autorental and he said he coudnt help me. Froud froud that's what you do!

Extremely dangerous experience…

Horrendous and dangerous experience with NextCar in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos.

- Waited for over an hour at airport for their shuttle. Called a couple of times to check if they were coming.
- Received the car with no gas (it was on empty). Told them and they said to bring it back empty.
- Check Engine light was on - they told us it was fine to drive that way.
- Wipers were broken and the windshield was very dirty. Extremely dangerous. It was raining everyday. Could not see thru windshield. Called them about this and they said they’d send someone to fix it but never did.
- Passenger windows didn’t roll down. They couldn’t roll it down either.
- There was no seatbelt in the back for our toddler. Again, very unsafe.

- This car (Chevy SUV) must have been rescued from a junk yard because it could barely drive. It made crazy noises, couldn’t accelerate or drive up hill, and it smelled like diesel fumes. It was also dirty AF.

No discount offered, no car swap offered. They wouldn’t even let us return the car an hour later after our flight was delayed by 4 hours.

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE

STEER CLEAR of this CHEATING COMPANY NEXTCAR! It will ruin your trip!!

I rented a car online with NEXTCAR and it was an unmitigated disaster from the moment I got to Orlando Airport. I waited at the "shuttle" for over 30 minutes, then it took an additional 20 minutes to get to the NEXTCAR lot which was many miles from the Airport. Once I got there, I was told to present my "Insurance Declaration Page" which I don't travel with. I was not instructed to bring it with me when I booked this car. Therefore, I was told I had to pay an additional $28/day for insurance. This is a SCAM!! Steer clear of this company as there is nothing but BAD REVIEWS for this CHEATING COMPANY!!! I hope you go out of business and lose millions and millions of dollars!!
