Scammers/Spammers
Just received a spam/scam email from them, no clue to who they are so they don't mind spamming/harassing random people
"Hi x,
Your neighbourhood is now using a free app called Nextdoor Eccles and you should join too."
They had an old address so bought detials from a data broker highlighting how desperate these people are, the host and spam networks have been informed
A good idea, but...
The idea behind Nextdoor is a good one - linking neighbours together, sharing ideas and local news. However, it is full of people advertising their businesses from private profiles, which is against the guidelines. If reported, nothing is done. Also, there are posts about national, even international, politics which are, again, against the guidelines but not removed when reported. If the site were moderated more stringently, it would be more enjoyable to use and more relevant to local events and issues.
I call it Nasty neighbour.com
I call it Nasty neighbour.com. Rather than a site to build neighbourhood unity and help each other, there are many negative people who use it only to gripe, gripe, gripe. Had to unsubscibe from alerts due to all the negativity. Sadly outweighs the truly helpful neighbours of which I have gratefully been a recipient. Come on people, it feels much better to spread kindness instead if vitriol.

It's yet another platform for bigots to…
It's yet another platform for bigots to make hateful comments and get away with it! I've read racist comments about NHS staff, schoolkids. Islamphobia, prejudice against single mums. I put in a complaint about a month ago and nothing has been done. The post and comments by this vile woman have not been deleted. She has even posted about her neighbour damning her and her kids. She uses words like feral to describe kids from single parent families who live on council estates. It's unbelievable that the moderators have not deleted her posts. It's full of negativity towards the youth and "in my day...." blah blah. Not an app to join if you have social morals.

For a few weeks now when I enter my email and PW and press enter it comes up with an error message along the lines of:-
``There is a problem at our end please try again``
After a lot of faffing about I have managed to get it working as it should be. So will now see how it goes going forward.
Next-door is grumpy old people’s click bate
The site , have been taken over by grumpy old people , who just sit on their keep boards all day, who only source of enjoyment is to provoke and cause arguments. It used to be a place where people could be neighbours and share and sell things, now it’s become a place where people sell stuff at ridiculous prices , instead of just taking it down the skip . Some people have made a business of buying charity shop stuff and calling it vintage and selling it in Next-door .. next door is the new click bate
Nextdoor clearly did not like my 1 star…
Nextdoor clearly did not like my 1 star review about allowing one of their listed businesses to use my domain name illegally my domain so they had my post removed. I will be making a complaint to the Information commissioners office (ICO) as recommended on here. I fully intend to take action against Nextdoor under the data protection act and their breach of copyright. I will also be asking Trustpilot why they allow companies to remove posts that criticises them as I thought Trustpilot was supposed to be impartial?
Absolutely toxic and hate filled site
Absolutely toxic and hate filled site. Full of adverts. Comments removed for the pettiest of reasons. Some really vile individuals on it
Could be a useful App
Could be a useful App. But unfortunately it isn’t, primarily due to the totally incoherent censorship contributors are suspended and disappear for minor transgressions, meanwhile the moderators hero worship certain controversial figures and sing their praises morning, noon and night. Other than that it’s adverts and lost pets.
Concerned about personal security
Used my name and was suspended from site for using a fake name but looking at old posts there are lots of people using names such as just M or D! Seems those making the judgements may remove people for unknown reasons.
Full of scammers and professional…
Full of scammers and professional beggars .decent people get banned frm the platform for petty things like jokes while scammers are allowed to remain . There's no option to report those that scam people too which make it an even more dangerous place to be.
FRAUD
Do not sell anything on this app & do not give ur card details either, this app has done fraud on my bank account they tried to take out £176 - I put an item on sale and a message came that a person is wanting to purchase the item & that payment can’t be credited to my bank account because my card details have not been verified & if I don’t verify my account will be blocked so I asked the customer service if this is fraud and they said to me “ do not worry this isn’t fraud , we won’t take any payments out we promise you” but they tried to take it out. Hate this app full of fraud
THIS IS A CULT
THIS IS A CULT
The only people joining this site are sad weirdos that don't have a life. Twisted curtain twitchers with no real social skills. Loners sat in their bedrooms with the lights off with nothing better to do. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Beware...HOA within an app
It seemed to be a great idea of an app. However!! Community guidelines are like living under an HOA! You'll get flagged and reported for trivial and petty things. For instance: if you create a post then 3 hours later reshare thre same post (repost), your post will be hidden and marked as spam. You will them have to send it to appeal (like an HOA). You also cannot udder abbreviations for you name but in profile settings it has option to display your full name or first name and last initial....dumb stuff!! These people are a bunch of narcissists. I am not over exaggerating lol every little thing gets reported.
I was reported my second day on NEXTDOOR!! For... not using my real first name. So I emailed them with screenshots of my profile with my name. I was told that after "review" that suspension was done in error and my account was reinstated. Not even a few days later, hit with the post thing. Whoever is running this app needs spiritual deliverance asap or shut this bad idea of an app down.
Faking mails for signup.
I'm not usually the sort of person who leaves scathing reviews but for NextDoor I felt I had to do so.
I initially signed on with this app when I received letter from a nearby neighbour inviting me to sign up with NextDoor with a sign-up code. It was written in a first person perspective and was printed in a way to make it look like it had come from a home printer. I signed on and had a look around. Turns out it was fake and it was just a mass mail-shot from Next door pretending to be my neighbour. With that sort of underhand ethos within the company, I told them to go do one.
Hotbed of political discourse and racist "jokes"
Originally, I joined this site at the recommended of my neighbours, as I heard it's a great place to find local joiners, painters etc. to get some work done. It was great for this as a lot of people can point you in the right direction. I noticed one or two unfunny "joke" posts (e.g. people thinking everyone wants to read a joke that the poster finds hilarious).
I haven't used it for months and recently went back on and now see it has become a hotbed of political discourse from certain kinds of people. Then I see many more people posting racist, misogynistic and homophobic jokes. "Nobody has a sense of humour anymore!" Is their go-to defence, completely forgetting that the site is for ALL of the community. I notice that lots of people posting on my community are from different areas! It's either attention seeking or they don't know the basic geography of where they live. My actual neighbours who got me onto it in the first place have deactivated their accounts because it's just toxic. So I have done the same! Try goggling your local area and see if there's an alternative site you can use. But avoid any all costs.

Unwanted messages seems to be impossible to unsubscribe from. Keeps telling me I'm unsubscribed but the messages keep coming. Cant remember signing up.
Next-door Is a disgrace to people who trust it
To all members of the public im going to warn you once and once only about this fake site one minute praising you and then banning you off the site for passing post .
Not only that they share your details with everyone they sell them all the scammets give your names and details to businesses to have you checked over you think it's agood site you wouldn't if you knew what they do for you telling the truth on there sites .
Never put anything about your money
