To be going out of business and doesn’t look like they will be honoring the 5for5 club. We paid a lot of money up front but now they will not honor their commitment. They say they are ethical but that are scammers.
Nisolo is a Scam
In 2023, Nisolo launched a membership program called FIVEforFIVE, where customers paid $500 upfront to receive 10 codes, distributed every six months over five years. These codes were supposed to be redeemable for any item on their site at no additional cost.
However, in 2024, Nisolo abruptly stopped distributing the codes, with many customers only learning about the change after reaching out to customer service to ask where their codes were. Their response? Essentially, “tough luck”—they claim distribution would resume in 2025, but instead sent an email today stating that the company is going bankrupt.
To make matters worse, there are reports that Nisolo is behind on payments to its suppliers. As someone who actively supports ethical brands, this is infuriating—delaying payments to factory workers is the exact opposite of ethical business practices.
This company is terrible and deserves to be sued.
Scam...
Like many of the other 1 star reviewers, I am one of the ones who bought into their "Five for Five Club" in February 2022. They promoted it as you pay a 1X $500 upfront and over the course of 5 years you get 2 codes per year to utilize (resulting in 10 pairs of shoes!) Well, first code came upon payment. Codes 2, 3 and 4 did not show up in my account automatically, as promised, but rather I had to reach out and ask each time. But, ultimately, I received the codes.
UP UNTIL April 2024 when I received an E-mail stating Nisolo must pause this club for the year of 2024 because of "our commitment to sustainability". They emphatically state we will not lose any outstanding codes, it's just a reset and the new codes will return in 2025. Meanwhile they offer a 50% off code valid *whenever*.. yeah, like I'm going to give you more money to burn...
Fast forward to October 2024, I was fed up because I see Nisolo warehouse and online sales offering buy one, get one FREE, where the "buy one" is already 30-50% off. I E-mailed Nisolo Support asking why I am not allowed to utilize a code I've already paid for, yet everyone else can take advantage of these extreme sales?? The response: "These sales are in effort to move spring & summer inventory as we transition into our fall & winter collections"... OK, this still did not answer why I am not allowed to utilize (my already paid for) code on this inventory then?? This makes me extremely sad because historically I have been a Nisolo loyalist. I loved that they were a local, small business with high-quality items. Now the quality has gone downhill just like their service and business strategy.
It’s all going downhill and they don’t honor their customers
This company used to be great. I am one of the unlucky five for five members. They paused the program, added restrictions, and generally have been so difficult to work with now. The quality is going downhill. It feels like they stole from me and it’s sad. Don’t trust them- shop elsewhere.

I ordered a pair of size 7 booties in Auburn color. I finally received the booties -- in a size 9 almond color. I sent multiple emails to Nisolo about the error to no avail. I have returned the shoes -- but still no response from Nisolo.
This is my first time dealing with Nisolo. It certainly will be my last.
How about at least the courtesy of a response?
My recommendation to people purchasing a Nisolo product: find the same product on another website and place order with them.
Mistakes happen. But ignoring a paying customer is not acceptable.
Scam
The company offered a deal called “Five for Five.” For $500 upfront, you would receive codes every 6 months for a pair of shoes or other item in their shop.
I purchased the Five for Five deal on August 27th, 2023 for a total of $541.25. I received my first code immediately and got a pair of shoes, and received a second code and pair of shoes in March 2024. However, after noticing I hadn’t received my third code in September, I reached out to the company. I was then informed they were postponing handing out any more codes until 2025.
After researching a bit, it seems they sent this email out at the beginning of the year, however many people (myself included) were not notified until reaching out to the company later on.
The bait and switch to changing the terms of agreement after they had received their money is unacceptable. I feel this is a scam to get money upfront quickly while they don’t have the cash flow to sustain their end of the agreement.
Do not trust this company and brand
Do not trust this company and brand. They are currently stealing from their 5 for 5 members - those who showed loyalty early on and helped to build the company. They have refused to honor the deal made with their most loyal customers. Quality of products is no longer worth the price and customer service is lacking. I expect that more 5 for 5 customers will be leaving reviews about their experience. My advice. STAY AWAY.
Dishonest
The quality of the shoes used to be fantastic and if there was an issue, they’d send you a new pair for free. The last pair I bought were glued together instead of one thick piece of leather and the soles were either not wood or a wood so soft that they nicked with the smallest pressure.
I bought 6 pairs of Nisolos before I signed up for their 5 for 500 program. You paid $500 up front and were supposed to get a pair of shoes every 6 months for the next 5 years. They hadn’t sent my most recent code so I contacted them. They then told me that they weren’t going to honor the program for all of 2024 and they’d start back up in 2025. I loved this company and told everyone to shop here- but I’ll never buy anything from them again.
$250 stolen and refusing to provide the gift card
I ordered a $250 gift card on 13th May and it never arrived in my email. I then called the customer service and they said they'd sort it if I sent an email. I sent an email; crickets. I followed up with calls, no one answered. It's been two months now. The even had the nerve to ask how my experience with Serena was, even though she didn't resolve my matter. $250 is a lot of money and I'm very disappointed. Buyers beware - they've stolen my money
Really gone downhill
I’ve been a long time customer and tried to be open minded about their five for five pause. My most recent order I received a shipping email but the tracking said shipment cancelled. I reached out to customer service and only then did they tell me the item was out of stock and this was a known problem. The concern is they didn’t refund me when canceling my shipment, they only did it after I complained. Seems like questionable practices of late here.
My mistake not reading reviews
My mistake not reading reviews. Bought a dress and top for a shower weekend. Fabric is cheap and they don't fit. Buying online I always save packaging. These cam in a grey plastic no labels. They will not allow a return without photos of the labels. There is a major language barrier. I lost alot. Never again.
8 pairs of shoes - all poor quality
I wanted to love Nisolo, but it’s clear that they are not expert hand made shoe makers and/or send stock that should be considered ‘seconds’ during sale periods that you wouldn’t buy instore. Their customer service is excellent however and I easily received a refund on my two orders.

Was a bit worried order seeing the reviews on here but my chelsea boots arrived and are exactly as hoped for. Nice design, appear to be well made, nice soft insoles. No regrets at all.
My only complaint is that the company they use for international shipping is terrible (very slow, broken tracking, poor comms) - thats not really their fault but I hope they consider switching to a better shipping service as this alone puts me off buying from them again.
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. The fabrics used as a cheap as could be and workmanship is shoddy. Buttons couldn't even fit in the buttonholes. They won't process returns. A disaster.

Received faulty and below standards goods, requesting refund which isnt being honoured instead being offered $5 for the $100 worth of clothing purchased when I am clearly asking for refund in line with their policy on website. The dress sent was ripped
Can't recommend them anymore
Really struggling with Nisolo and at this point I can't recommend them anymore. The shoes themselves are fine and I bought in based on their sustainability efforts, but quality control is nightmarish.
I ordered my first pair of boots alongside a belt. The boots are alright—not a perfect fit but fairly nice looking and breaking in well. They sent me a medium size belt instead of the small I ordered. Sent it back to get the correct belt size and moved on.
Ordered my second pair of boots and it's been a tremendous hassle. Ended up receiving a different size than I ordered TWICE, and once I finally got my third pair in the correct size (the smallest they offer) it still isn't a great fit. One boot feels worn in and just right and the other is stiff and too loose. The boots also have different length laces, one the correct length and one much too long! I emailed support and they told me they can't send me new laces. My only option is to buy a third-party lace they recommend or to exchange the boots a fourth time.
I'm can't keep trying to make it work. Now I'm stuck with two expensive pairs of boots that I'm pretty mixed on, have to order new laces to wear them, and the whole sustainability thing is out the window with how much postage it's required to get the shoes. Now I'm stuck with an impossible choice of keeping the shoes for a very long time like I had intended to, or finding something better and I guess trying to sell these or give them away.
horrible experience.
horrible experience.. they took a month to ship the shoes, and when they arrived, they looked as damage items.. love the sustainability aspect but with a product that bad, is hard to engage with the brand..
HORRIBLE SHOES AND Customer service!
The shoes and the customer service are terrible! I ordered a pair of boots, they came with damage to the leather in the form of scratches, wrinkles, and terrible seams. For the price, this is a complete rip-off. The site claims 100% refund but when trying to initiate a return it only allows for an exchange or replacement (and the exchange can only be the same exact boot in a different color!) I've emailed and texted the company and received nothing but a canned AI response that doesn't address the lack of ability to get a refund. The shoes were not on sale (or final sale) as stated in the policy). DO NOT TRUST, DO NOT BUY!
Great Shoes and Great Mission
I first checked out Nisolo because some of my friends had their products and loved them. I went in-person and was blown away. The shoes are all so cool and the service was excellent. I got the All-day Low Top Sneakers in Tobacco (cool color name right?). They've been so versatile and comfortable. Would definitely go back again, especially after hearing about their sustainability missions. Glad to support a good cause.
